  1. i have not long finished the later shift, its been nice not to have to be out in the heat or waking up early for a change. im getting the pre season vibe now we have signed two players and of course have our first friendly game arranged.
  2. i hope to go, i think it would be a fun trip and its not cost, but time and if something comes up between now and closer to the friendlies date.
  3. its great news, it also makes sense to use the facilities with the uni. i dont know why we did not stick with them the first time, after basford United did not work out. sharing forests was useful, but if we can guarantee that we share the facilities issues it really would be ideal.
  4. i am happy with the signing, fans did not think george abbott would become a regular starter and there is no reason why tom iorpenda cant bring something different to the team. i dont like comparing players or referencing them to others, but i do hope he finds his feet with us and plays a big part just like abbott did.
  5. its early to say, but it looks like we are adding height and pace into the team in the areas where we could do with it more. rather than just the back, but i agree tom iorpenda looks to be an excellent loan signing. it will be interesting to see which position we bring in next, still need to hire the head coach. 😁
  6. if its warm, please try to stay in the shade and dehydrated, but i am sure you know this @Robbie. @Fan of Big Tone, hope you are having a nice time tone. i am not in work tomorrow until 1:30pm, i have to work with the night shift partly as we have had new shelves and storage installed to make room for the modernisation. so, i will have a bit of extra sleep for once.
  7. it could make a significant difference, as our recruitment and squad building as shown we can spend what budget we have wisely. i know the past two seasons could have been different, with higher finishes but maybe this appointment is a sign of trying to stay the course? its positive news from the club.
  8. hello and welcome to pon, @Johnnykingofthepies. i hope you settle in and get familiar with the community we have, you will soon be made welcome by others.
  9. i think it is a good thing, and quite possibly why we have waited so long to make a managerial appointment. fingers crossed in a few days time we will have news about that, then as said before me the season can start to build up nicely.
  10. i have never even heard of him, but you had me for a few milliseconds @Piethagoram.
  11. welcome to pon, @willallen50. its nice to be saying hello to you. 🙂
  12. welcome to pon, @Simon Jackson. its nice to be saying hello to you. 🙂
  13. welcome to pon, @PieHard . its nice to be saying hello to you. 🙂
  14. i think we are stubborn with sticking to the vision and ways the club wants the players to play, there needs to be a bit of freedom otherwise we will have worse performance because how do you make changes when the players are drilled not to take risks, that ball possession is important. there does need to be a balance and i think when we are really playing well, thats about the only times we are not predictable because we are happier to pass the ball more direct and just go for it. when we need to be more clinical, thats when we fall to being more predictable i think.
  15. its coming along really well, i see a few changes here and there. i am looking forward to seeing more articles again, but i know chris is doing all of what he can. its just good to see pon moving forward.
  16. today i have been running errands for my mum most of the day, i usually fetch her shopping from asda in west Bridgford but she wanted to and look. so i took her to sainsburys in casle mania and then to some smaller shops like iceland before they closed early with it being a sunday. the afternoon i was still running her around, but its made a nice change. evening i have been catching up on studying for the managerial courses i have coming up. reading through policies and stuff, most i do know so i am confident of passing. night everyone 😊
  17. this is a great insight into leam richardson, i am not sure who i really want to becoming in as the head coach but hes one of the names which i think could do well with our squad. i am very much hoping we can get efl experience, instead of someone outside of it.
  18. i think it shows the importance of getting your finances right in football, but there is always the warning sign about over spending and the fans do need to take into consideration what realistically can be spent. i feel sorry for the owl fans, as they are a good club but are certainly amidst of some very serious trouble.
  19. it will be interesting to see how well bradford adapt to league one because i actually think we have a stronger squad in comparison to them, they did well to get automatic promotion but i think if we kept on course we would have gone up. i do wish them well, and tilt looks to be a decent signings for them.
  20. i think the head coach should have the final say and have the biggest input into player recruitment, i dont mind that the club have their own way of recruiting because it can give the manager more time to focus on tactics, upcoming games but i think when signings are made without a manager it does not really make much sense. people can clash, and when the head coach has the final say, at least they are agreeing to some level that they can work together. the togetherness within the squads camp has been very good, so i dont think its much of an issue but i do think signings should be made when a manager is present.
  21. If you are on mobile, you can choose your default stream and whatever that is, it will show as the first link in the mobile navigation. i changed from unread to all activity. 👍🏻
  22. why approve owners then? its blocking a teams success, and yes, there could be cheating but this is where the rulemakers need to smarter. i feel sorry for crystal palace, especially their fans. a fair outcome would be to allow palace to play, but if something happens like them playing a team connected to their owner, turn action needs to be taken.
  23. i miss when we was not always linked to the rumours, it was good when we signed someone out of the blue. people are catching on and even though a fair portion tends to be just the rumour mill. how the club managed to keep things quiet made things more exciting. i dont know much about this player, i dont really remember liking any of their players, but that does not mean he would not be good here. just as a team i thought tranmere was poor.
  24. david mcgoldrick was not always consistent but he could produce the goods when needed. just a classy finisher when hes in that mode. hes going to be missed for this magic. some of the goals are well beyond l2 level.
  25. what a *it, i remember him being a game changer and highly rated when he played for our neighbours. he tended to be on the large looking side, but looked class. how do you go from playing professional football to this. he must be desperate or just into the life style having money brings.
