  1. i have only watched notts live myself @Wheelbarrow repair man, but having watched all of last seasons games. i would like to get tickets to see england play at wembley some time. its been good travelling on match days with @CliftonMagpie and @TheSkipper. i at least hope you have managed to watch live football with your sons.
  2. i know i am late to this but i had a really nice weekend, saturday my aunt had all the immediate family over and we had a buffet. it was nice to catch up, especially now i am feeling better. these types of things are always nice when the weather is good. sunday, i did my mums shopping and went out on a bike ride around ilkeston.
  3. it must be very hard for you @ARLukomski, i dont think any decision will change the way fans feel about you. we will support you because that is what fans and friends should do. i dont like to think you are suffering from the stress involved with doing something you are obviously very good at doing. it must be very difficult but my opinion on if you should continue with youtube or not, it does mean anything. since you joined pon, i have always watched your vlogs and i can honestly say its been nice to have something to relate too. all the difficult seasons we had and the promotion back to league two have been documented by you. none of us would want you to force yourself to put them out but its about you knowing yourself. i wish you well and hope you find the right thing to do.
  4. hello @jake008, welcome to the pride of nottingham. we are a friendly community and love reading what other fans have to say.
  5. hello @Mark Holland, welcome to the pride of nottingham. as you will see we are a friendly group of fans and we enjoy nothing more than discussing notts. feel free to join in.
  6. its still a memory and although sad, you could have seen how it bought you and your dad potentially closer. i am sure you still remember the thrill of winning and how excited you were. its a shame you did not manage to go to mexico, i would have been inclined to try to make it happen if i were in your dads shoes but i can imagine that could have been much harder said than done back then. still i think you and your dad would have had a blast if you had managed to go, hope you can find the happier side to it in time.
  7. i think 0-0 could equal no points, where as anything higher could be rewarded with a point because it shows that the teams did not settle for a goalless draw. then again giving no points for draws would mean teams had to attack. i dont think any of these would help the underdog teams that might have a great one off season due to winning and drawing games though.
  8. i can eat any type of veg that goes with gravy, even if i dont like it by its self. i was a fussy eater when i was younger but in my teens i found trying things opened up a lot of new options for meals. i also quite like cooking, so i do tend to use veg. one of my favourite things is a stew that my grandmother used to make. this is heavily reliant on things like peas, carrots etc.
  9. well i do think games like this should be used as a way to reward players who have put in effort, so i dont think trailists should really get much time. had i felt okay, i might have made the trip. i was half minded to go but i have no. i know a few fans who are, so i hope they enjoy the experience and those on here that do. please report back. your experience and thoughts would be nice to read.
  10. @DeadlyMacca take your time, there is no need to rush just because macca left. there are some really good suggestions here.
  11. the bench is going to look much stronger tho, with a few places being harder to decide from. it does give stuart maynard plenty of options. i think it will be a mix between @Chris and @ARLukomski suggestions.
  12. there are still areas where we could do with adding depth but i think the squad should be good enough to land a playoff spot. if the form builds, i see no reason why automatics would not be possible but football is not always that simple. it will be good if we can get some excellent results early on and then we might see some promising signs. I am glad we have focused on tightening up the defence.
  13. it would have been a magical season for them but the hardest thing would be to retain the players, i think many would have still be off had they lost the final. they proved that they have good players and clubs would be more intent in signing their best talent. at least promotion will attract a good standard of players in the likely event that they are relegated they should be strong enough to do well in league two.
  14. he should be a good signing for them, its a shame its not us but stockport do like to have a strong attacking option.
  15. thank you @Fan of Big Tone and @super_ram, i do feel much better now.
  16. i dont see it as being a negative it just allows larger squads to make full use of its players, it might benefit teams who have a bigger budget as their bench might be stronger than others but thats the off take situation you have to accept. i think the national league being dated really showed why it is important to have more subs and more players named on the bench. tactically and for fitness reasons it makes much more sense than not.
  17. i think jatta will score a lot more playing regularly, hes a natural finisher and has proven himself already. i know people say he only scored just over two handfuls last season but that is good considering its his first time in england. it was a good decision in the end to sign him as he helped last year and will do much this year. a quick striker would be nice, but morias does have some pace. so jatta should thrive as our main striker.
  18. football history is good to read up on, especially notts.
  19. i am not surprised, i think kyle walker did well and at 34 he was faster than most players. i wished he had been a little more defensive in the final but it does take take from his performance. nobody else from the england team deserves to be listed.
  20. it does change much in my opinion. i think its a very valid point that would be killers, especially mass shooters would find a way to get hold of a gun. its too easy to get hold of a weapon in the us, they do nothing to make it difficult. i know they have checks, but i have read that even this can be overlooked. it reminds me of the story i once read about people trying to sue gun manufactures.
  21. graham potter has not done enough to warrant the position. its like handing the role to frank lampard, steven gerrard or wayne rooney just because they were legends. none of them have enough about themselves, i think its important the role is given on merit. instead of what they could do or down to inspiration. whoever does takeover from gareth southgate will have a straight forward task in comparison to what southgate had to do. mauricio pochettino no. thomas tuchel no. having managed in england and having done elsewhere is not enough in my eyes. its the same with jurgen klopp, although i think out of all the foreign managers he is the best. eddie howe needs more experience, landing the newcastle job will be like a dream come true with the money they will now have. he could help guide them to being one of the top six teams. lee carsley i am not against because he fits what gareth southgate did and will know the players on the verge of becoming regular first team internationals.
  22. ha haha! i love how the magpie is calm enough to act like its not even following the cat, if the cat did not react it might not be as funny and i do wonder what the magpie was aiming to do if this was the case.
  23. as the head coach, i dont think stuart maynard will have much to do with things outside of this area. i am sure he will have input to transfers and what is needed, but that will be handled more by others. it gives him a clearer focus imo, to focus on training, strategies, tactics and the general development of the players. i would imagine that his role involves less of the business side, including scouting and financial.
  24. i have never seen the full game but i have seen extended highlights and a lot of clips of it over the years, it would have been something special and to see a united england would be nice. does anyone know why england wore red when they were the home team and it allowed germany to wear white?
  25. judging the advert i would say late 60s to early 70s. i cant find anything searching google, but the advert does look very late 60s and early 70s. i would be surprised if it was later and in the 80s.
