  2. i think it will be a good enough game, i hope they play defensive as it will test our creativity and all we need is one chance if we play as good as we cand defensively. if they are physical or borderline dirty, i am sure notts will be able to focus on playing football. its going to be an interesting 90 minutes.
  3. i hope the comments about protecting the players does not go against us, i can see referees allowing more go, i used to hate seeing jon stead fouled only for the referee to act like he pulled his own shirt. its not like any of our players are diving. i do like stuart maynards comments about the game though, it will be good to see the returning players back.
  4. hes just quality, i love his response to signing the new deal. it shows how focused and committed to notts he is. the moment he signed for us, it has been nothing but exciting and its a real joy to watch him play for us. to see his contract extended gives me hope we can get back to league one and then who knows?
  5. its good hes enjoying life at meadow lane and notts does seem like a good fit, he could still be at a team like afc wimbledon and being loaned out. hes now a notts player and we want him as much as he wants to be here. i love his attitude towards not conceding goals.
  6. some fans are playing it down by saying it does not mean anything and that he can still go, all it means is that we should get more money. is this just peoples coping mechanism? i think its a strange way to look at it, because hes by far one of the best players. we have been dreaming and hoping that jodi jones extends his contract, which has been done now. people should be excited and glad for the club. its a big plus to our name to have secured the deal. for jodi jones alone it means he can focus on his football, without casting his mind on where he could be. it means he is content and happy at the club, nobody signs a deal like this if they are thinking of moving. he clearly is thinking about us getting promoted and moving forward as a club.
  7. the thing about if bromley sit behind the ball, then we need to be smarter and draw them out. work rate, i am sure the players will put a shift in and i dont underestimate any team, but i think we have a good chance to continue our form. pressure will be on us to maintain it, but they wont want to lose and will need to play some of the best food against us to make the game more favourable for them.
  8. its a good read, i like that people are seeing meadow lane as a good place to go. it shows floating and casual fans that there is more than just the football being played but the social side to it.
  9. its beyond a joke how they have failed to penalise manchester city before now, they need to get it over and done with.
  10. hello, @Jeff johno. are you the fan with the colourful hair always at away games? welcome to pon.
  11. it should have seen them penalised or to forfeit the game, if proven he knowingly cheated.
  12. it was a witty response, i am waiting for @DangerousSausage to have a go. ????
  13. once matt palmer is fit, i have no doubt he will be included more, him and abbott, crowley and edwards seem to be good options. it leaves scott and mcgoldrick to rotate with attacking spaces or advanced midfield. i think like @Robbie, we will start to see a difference between home and away selections. it would be hard to ignore grant for example, but it is a sign of the good options we have. defence and goal writes itself, when jatta is available he should start.
  14. i think its very important to be there for people, even if they are not friends. if they seem like good people and deserve to be supported, i will try to make a difference. i have never had an issue with depression but i can understand how it causes hard times for people. i am more switched towards being happy and seeing the brighter things, the only time i used to feel low was during school. i had no friends, nobody would talk to me and i did feel lonely. its why i will always try to be friendly towards people because i believe it makes a different. suicide is horrible, it leaves loved ones in limbo and can cause further depression.
  15. we will have to wait and see how things turn out, i hope cedwyn scott is okay. hes a good player, works hard. i think he does just need time.
  16. i get the doubts but those who called for his head, including after this pre season are just fickle. they will moan when we lose stability and wont ever be happy. i swear they just wait for something to be negative about. i dont think many of them actually go to games. those who do who had fair concerns, i think they will be more on board now and i get that. i dont reasonable doubters enjoy seeing the aggressive ones calling for the head coaches head at any given time. we have a good squad, have a poor spell and these come out of the woodwork moaning about how they dont care. i sometimes i have to hold back from commenting, as when i see this i just want to ask them if they care about notts or just to complain?
  17. i dont know a lot about south american football either, but i do know colombia have some very good players. they have been doing well in recent years, so i am less surprised.
  18. considering southends issues, this is great news. i liked noor husin but he needed to improve much quicker than he did for us. defensively was my main concern.
  19. ban them from life, if you match fix or cheat they should never get a chance to represent another club. i would not trust them no matter how sorry they made themselves seem. they are not victims, they are greedy cheaters.
  20. i love this, it shows more of the positive stats that we as a team are producing playing such good football. even when its not pretty, we are still good enough to get a goal.
  21. he looks great in defence for us, i think he is only showing signs of getting better. how he recovers and comes back to defend when players get away from him is very different. he makes them work hard to even pass the ball when hes one on one. watching him defend games tight against the opposition you can see he just watches the ball. i think he and many of the other players have settled, as meadow lane seems to lift them and makes it seem like they are home.
  22. he was a bit of experience and someone the players could get behind, with derry being the more techinical minded. its a shame it did not work out for shaun derry but i did like greg abbott. i am glad hes still involved in football.
  23. i need to give this a watch, i will do it later after i eat around 7ish. then come back and give my thoughts. how long have they sat around a table? i thought the other way looked better.
  24. i think they need to stick with him if they want to get value out of his fee. he wont help them not playing and the amount of game time is poor. they need to figure out how to get him involved and how he can increase his work rate to make it more likely to succeed. i want macaulay langstaff to work out at millwall. he deserves the break in his career.
  25. with them being pretty much inside italy, i have always wondered why they dont have more better players or a stronger interest in football. i am pleased they made some history, but hopefully more wins will come.
