  1. The gaffer has a lot of class and wise words!
  2. I would like to see the club release extended highlights without charge, as the current ones only include one of the penalty appeals. Does anyone know if BT Sports turned away when the first scorer tried to provoke the Kop? I prefer listening to BBC Radio's commentary during the highlights rather than BT Sports'. Watching the current highlights is just as exasperating as watching the game live.
  3. He seemed eager to get involved today, nothing spectacular from him and Jodi Jones looks to be the far better loan signing.
  4. It's hard to accept defeat when we played well, especially in the second half, but still lost. After the final whistle when a player was sent off it isn't great. While the referee's decisions on penalty calls may have been questionable, I'm amazed at how effectively the opposing team blocked our attempts. It feels like a tall order to ask for Chesterfield to help us out, given their current form. Nevertheless, we must move forward and focus on our next game. Our aim is to win the remaining 11 matches and secure victory in the last 2 games of the season to achieve our goal.
  5. I hope that you are making friends with all those Notts County legends who have passed away, as well as renewing your relationship with your estranged family. I am deeply sorry, Super Ram.

  6. Oh, this is extremely distressing. I am aware that Granny Pie and Super Ram have been extensively engaged with the site since its inception. Granny Pie always appeared to be a person who had a genuine concern for the well-being of others, and her absence will be deeply felt.
  7. As fans, these are the games we ought to cherish for a considerable length of time. Whether they signify the beginning of something extraordinary, let's relish the football being presented to us by these players and Luke Williams. We should count ourselves fortunate to witness such exceptional quality on display. All the goals last night were amazing, but I would like to single out Langstaff's goal, where he touched the ball twice and hit it with his laces into the far corner. The Notts squad is very impressive, and sometimes, I have to pinch myself to not get carried away as a fan, knowing there are still 12 games to go. The left-wring has created a well-oiled machine with the squad.
  8. There was a spell in the first half around the 10 minutes mark where Notts found a few chances to get on top, but Barnet managed to ride that wave. I have to say, I thought we attacked with more threat than they did. They looked like a side that wouldn't score from open play. All their threats came from pressuring us into mistakes, which Aden Baldwin had a dire time in the first 45 minutes. Cut out the backward passing, move and pass forward like we can. Barnet would not have handled us. I don't like how tippy tappy we can be when we are trying to open up the opposition, It's why I think we miss a player like Cal Roberts. Ruben Rodrigues plays like king pin under these circumstances.
  9. I want to credit Dagenham for making a game of it because early on, Notts looked a step above them and that made them play a lot more carefully. Before we scored, they had a few good chances to take the lead themselves. It made the game very open and added to the excitement. Notts needed to up their game at times, as weak passes, poor decision making meant that a lot of build up play was wasted. Good goals, but once we retook the lead I feared they would pull level and they did threaten.
  10. Either team could have got another goal and won, but Notts grabbed the draw which is all that matters.
  11. A nice cup run would be nice for Notts, we haven't enjoyed one for awhile now. Rochdale aren't a difficult team to play against, going to their ground will give them the home comforts but if Notts buckles down and works hard. There's no reason why a victory couldn't end up coming back home to Meadow Lane.
  12. I think Notts will lose, sorry! I know nobody likes it when someone says this but I think we'll slip up against Tamworth.
  13. Hit them early, it could be a good game with plenty of chances. Allow them to control the game, then we might make a real game of it. Either way, I am looking forward to seeing what happens on the pitch. I am hoping Jim O'Brien makes a start, as I think he will get in behind Tamworth and make it tricky for them.
  14. Hopefully, the Notts team that are overcoming the recent defeats will continue to get ahead when they have fallen back. Or if it is later in the game and our attacking form has stopped being effective, this will be time for us time to time waste a little with passing football, otherwise after time we might generally fold as opposed to keep pushing.
  15. Give Matt Palmer the ball, make space and that will keep Notts moving forward. We have to be a lot more creative. I don't want to see Notts attempt to walk into the back of the net, someone has to try their luck from distance. With Cal Roberts out, we might be one dimensional.
  16. I've seen him play, he's a good prospect that should do just fine here. I am excited to see how he fits in, as Notts has needed someone with a bit of pace at the back, and whilst Kyle Cameron will be a loss. I think if he does well, Ian Burchnall should consider trying to bring him in for the full season.
  17. I think with some game time and faith, Lewis Knight could prove to be a very important player in time. If he plays out wide as a forward or more as a striker, his pace and potential will only grow with any chance given. I don't think he's done bad so far, and should be considered ahead of Elisa Sam who I believe will perform better this season.
  18. Now to add depth, but its great to have DKE all signed up for another season.
  19. Big loss IMO, quality midfielder who did much of the work and everything in between. Underrated in his ability to get Notts going.
  20. This could help Ian Burchnall win over the players further, a massive 3 points which has come at a good time. First half it looked likely to end up as a draw, I didn't think Notts would lose but turning it around for the win just didn't seem likely. All of the goals Notts scored could be reviewed and used to improve the performances over the next couple of weeks, we haven't been playing to space or attacking teams well but Woking ended up being broken down. I would also suggest the fitness of Notts helped somewhat too.
  21. I thought Enzio would inject something into the game, but so far he's killing every move by either not stretching the play or attempting to pull off the impossible. Very poor game from Notts, lacking everything needed to win a game.
  22. The first is very good, I need to find time for the second but I will probably listen to it tomorrow now.
  23. If Notts managed to win playing that poor, I would be surprised. Teams that start slow, are always second best are never going to get that break to score or lead in a game. I think too many are overlooking the players who are responsible when they cross onto the field. Nobody had a great game for Notts, Roberts and Rawlinson are two big misses as mentioned. When 10 players are poor, its always going to be a task to demand more and from there the game will get harder.
  24. At this point I would take a draw, lower the expectations a little. We went from the pre-season where fans overreacted, to being undefeated in 3 back to back games. Win a 4th and those doom and gloom mongers will be hyping us up and getting disappointed again when their bubble bursts. I do feel Notts are more than good enough to win. Provided Wootton is fit, I have every faith he can score. I feel Doyle, Reeves, Enzio, Roberts, Thomas etc, are all capable of chipping in.
  25. It's wins like tonight which highlights teams good enough to chase for Promotion. I don't want to sound like I am getting ahead of myself, there's still a long way, but after Dover this is the perfect start that we couldn't have asked for. The game had a draw all over it, yet Kyle Wootton managed to get the ball across the line dead late into the game. It's results like this which our fans will also miss seeing live, imagine the reaction to winning the 3rd game of 4 in the 94th minute. It really doesn't get any better than that. Notts just needs to improve away from home, confidence should do that.
