Easter Monday 2017 turned out to be a positive day for both fans of Notts County and of Portsmouth at Meadow Lane. Although the Magpies fell to a 3-1 defeat, Newport County were thrashed by Plymouth Argyle, confirming for good that Notts would be a League Two side next season. Meanwhile, Pompey ended eight years of hurt with a win that sealed promotion into League and going some way towards exorcising the demons of the last few years. Notts County survived a late scare to move back to the top of League Two with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Barnet at Meadow Lane on Saturday. The Magpies went ahead on the quarter-hour mark when Shola Ameobi headed a Rob Milsom corner towards goal and Shaun Brisley made sure of the goal from point-blank range. Notts then doubled their advantage seven minutes into the second half when Matt Tootle Cruyff-turned his marker and crossed for Ryan Yates, who glanced home for his first league goUpdated by Joe Jones

We see the return of the PoN on One! In this edition we see a little twist as we turn it into a special feature for our Capital One cup tie against Liverpool. I've taken the time to ask two American based fans questions ahead of the tie, whilst throwing in the traditional quiz at the end. We will be following up with an Opposition View tomorrow but if you ever wondered how fans from another country get around timezones etc. We have this covered in this addition! I very much hope you'll enUpdated by Chris

Following two weeks off and some deft reinforcements in the January transfer window, Notts County put in a much improved performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with League Two promotion chasers Lincoln City at Meadow Lane. The Magpies began superbly and were ahead after just two minutes when they won a penalty with their first meaningful attack, Harry Toffolo fouling Jon Stead, who was trying to get on the end of Mitch Rose's cross. Saturday's early League Two kickoff saw Notts County host Mansfield Town at Meadow Lane and claim their first league win over the Stags in 13 years in a 1-0 win. Neal Ardley's side began brightly before taking the lead in the 19th minute when Rob Milsom's cross was touched into the path of Mackail-Smith by Virgil Gomis, and the on-loan Wycombe man volleyed home from 20 yards. Notts County will be hoping to get back to winning ways following their draws against Luton Town and Grimsby Town when they host Cambridge United this weekend. Managed by Shaun Derry, the U's are currently in a bad vein of form and may be missing key players. Pride of Nottingham spoke to Cambridge fan Tom to get an insight on this weekend's opposition. About Tom: I'm 26, been supporting the U's since I was a child, as long as I can remember, and my favourite player is Dave Kitson.Updated by Joe Jones

No sooner have Notts County got back to winning ways that they suffer another negative result, this time a 2-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra. The Magpies were hoping to build on their 2-1 win over Barnet on Saturday with a result that would keep them top of the table at Gresty Road. However, Notts were not at the races as Michael Raynes rattled home from close range just before half time after Eddie Nolan had headed George Cooperโs free kick across goal. It just wasn't to last, was it? Notts County's good recent run of form, which culminated in the superb 1-0 win over Mansfield, had us to the point we could come out of the League Two relegation zone with victory over Newport. Instead, revert to type. A 4-1 home defeat to a side 15th in the standings and we're still bottom. Fraser Franks opened the scoring before a Jamille Matt brace put the Exiles 3-1 ahead at the break despite Kane Hemmings's early equaliser. And in true MagAdded by PON_News

Notts County suffered a 2-0 defeat away at Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night which knocked them off the top of League Two, with Luton Town taking their place. Putting in one of the worst performances of the season so far, the Magpies fell behind just before half time when Michael Raynes rattled home from close range after Eddie Nolan had headed George Cooperโs free kick across goal. Notts County have been knocked off top spot in League Two following their 2-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night. The Magpies simply were not at the races as goals from Michael Raynes and Jordan Bowery gave the Railwaymen all three points. The result saw Luton Town leapfrog both Notts and Exeter City, who were hammered by the Hatters, at the top of the table. Here is the reaction from the Notts manager and the Black and White Army following the disappointing loss at GrestyUpdated by Joe Jones

A plaque commemorating the foundation of Notts County was unveiled at Nottingham's Mercure Hotel last weekend. Previously known as the George Hotel, the location - just off the city centre en route to Hockley and the Lace Market - was where "Notts Foot Ball Club" became official following a committee meeting within its walls in December 1864. Colin Slater, who has reported on the club for more than 50 years as part of BBC Radio Nottingham, revealed the tribute outside the hotel in GeorUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County fell to a 2-1 defeat at Luton Town in Saturday's League Two clash at Kenilworth Road. The Magpies began well as Elliott Hewitt opened the scoring, but goals from Ollie Palmer and Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu put the Hatters in the lead by the end of the first half and they hung onto it until the final whistle. The official Notts site has put up the match highlights, so you can have a look for yourself how the Magpies did against the Hatters as well as the game's goals.Updated by Joe Jones

Notts County achieved their first win of the season against Tranmere Rovers at Meadow Lane last Saturday. The game wasn't what fans was expecting, although for sure it is what they want to see on a weekly basis. Tranmere Rovers went into the game with their own inconsistency, although no doubt they have the ability to punish sides going forward. Notts County delivered yet another poor result as they drew 0-0 with Port Vale on Saturday, which keeps the Magpies five points adrift of safety. The game was dour and unispiring, with the 22nd-placed Valiants putting in a stronger performance than the beleaguered hosts at Meadow Lane. Vale pressed their game on the hosts early on in the game and dominated proceedings, with Tom Pope seeing a close-range header ruled out for offside and Tom Conlon hit the crossbar from 25 yards. Notts County have been diabolical all season (save for like five or six games) but Saturday really took the biscuit as the League Two trip to Cheltenham Town ended in a humiliating 4-1 defeat. The hosts' opener at the Jonny Rocks Stadium came just before the half hour mark when good work on the right from Ben Tozer and Kevin Dawson culminated in Charlie Raglan crossing for Will Boyle to head home. Cheltenham then doubled their lead on 36 minutes when Billy Waters broke into the area, wAdded by PON_News
