had we played more like we did from the 70th minute mark, but sooner we would have won the game but the lads digged deep to win the point. morecambe made it hard, the first half especially and we had some good chances. i think george abbott should have scored his chance, but hes young and will get a goal if he continues to work as hard as he is. i thought stuart maynard the right chances, maybe we needed one or two sooner but thats easy in hindsight.

I'm going to give Stuart Maynard credit for his substitutions that gave Notts the impetus to get the point that they deserved. 

Morecambe had a game plan and it very nearly worked for them but a bit of quality from Crowley when it was needed helped to get a point for Notts.

Last season Notts would have lost a match such as this but this season Notts are made of sterner stuff. McGoldrick clearing off the line in the final minutes demonstrated just this.

Notts fought hard, and we need to remember that the changes we made had an impact. The lads who went off had tried their best and were exhausted. We needed that effort, and the point is a good one despite the chances we had. I have no complaints about the draw. I know some will be disappointed, and I felt that in the first half, but watching David McGoldrick and Dan Crowley put in good performances, and then seeing the changes in the second half push for the draw, showed real spirit!
