Connell Rawlinson’s Departure: Five Memorable Years at Meadow Lane

PON_News

Connell Rawlinson’s remarkable five-year journey at Meadow Lane has come to an end by mutual consent.

The popular defender, who joined at the start of the club’s debut season in the National League, leaves behind a legacy of commitment and passion that has endeared him to fans and teammates alike.

Rawlinson quickly established himself as a mainstay in the first team, earning the Fans’ Player of the Year award thanks to his fervent and dedicated performances. His exceptional efforts on the pitch also saw him share the Players’ Player of the Year title with fellow squad member Kyle Wootton.

Throughout the club's stint in the fifth tier of English football, the 32-year-old remained a pivotal figure in the squad. His dedication and hard work were fittingly rewarded when Cedwyn Scott’s penalty secured the club's return to the English Football League (EFL) – a cherished goal that Rawlinson had always strived to achieve.

Reflecting on Rawlinson's departure, board member Richard Montague expressed heartfelt appreciation for his contributions: “Connell’s contribution throughout his time at Meadow Lane is hugely appreciated by everyone.

“We have no doubt he’ll be a huge asset to his next club and wish him and his young family the very best of luck for the future.”

As Connell Rawlinson bids farewell to Meadow Lane, he leaves behind not just memories of a stalwart defender but also an indelible mark on the club’s history. His passionate displays and unwavering commitment will be fondly remembered by all who witnessed his tenure in black and white.

Connell Rawlinson has had a commendable stint with Notts, stepping up when we needed someone to fight for the team. He’s shown bravery, often putting himself at risk. It’s unfortunate to see him go, but the timing seems right. I hope he finds a new club that suits him well.

Connell Rawlinson is a player who we will always be regarded as being a great servant to Notts County.

He will also be regarded as one of the great heros who helped to get Notts back to the Football League where Notts belong.

I am sad to see him go because he is a player who always gives his all every game that he plays, and he's a good team player too.

I wish Connell all the best for the next step in his football journey, and I am sure he will do well for any club that he joins.

In conclusion I would say that Connell will always be welcomed back to the lane by the fans, whether for another team or not.

It’s always distressing to see a valued member leave your club. Connell Rawlinson has been a solid defender for us over several seasons and has contributed to Notts’ success. As we’ve improved, it’s regrettable that his skills haven’t been able to match the pace. Despite this, he departs Meadow Lane as a beloved figure.

He’s had some successful seasons with Notts, but now he’s in the twilight of his career. In the future, I’d be delighted to see Connell Rawlinson return as a guest at Meadow Lane. He’s performed exceptionally well, it’s just unfortunate that our progression requires someone more agile and quick. Wishing him all the best!

Rawlo, a good player and passionate, was everything we desired in a defender. Even though we’ve moved on, his departure still saddens me. For him, it’s the start of an exciting new chapter. I hope he finds a suitable club to conclude his career. Best of luck, Connell Rawlinson.

I hold Connell Rawlinson in high regard. His decision to leave on mutual terms may be distressing, but it’s commendable as he’s acted in the club’s best interest. This move doesn’t largely benefit him, even though it allows him to find a club where he’s likely to play more. In a sport where some are content to sit idle just for a salary, I greatly respect Rawlo. He’s endured a lot with us.

I feel a mix of sadness and happiness. I was fond of Rawlo. I considered him a good defender, but his playing time would have been greatly reduced now. I wish him all the best.

Go forth and captivate another club, Connell! You have much to offer a club and I’m grateful for everything you’ve done during your time at Notts. You’ve consistently put in effort and I admire that about you. Best of luck, Rawlo.

The club has made the correct decision. Hopefully, Connell Rawlinson can find a suitable club to gain more playing time. He might join a National League team with promotion prospects, which could provide another thrilling journey. Whatever his choice, I wish him well.

Connell has been great for us but now it’s time to say goodbye, it’s the best thing for both parties, he’ll find another club and hopefully help them to success as he has done for Notts.
