Jodi Jones Nominated for Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month

PON_News

Notts County winger Jodi Jones has been nominated for August's Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month, following a standout start to the season.

The announcement of the winner is due on Friday, and Jones will be competing against Walsall's Connor Barrett, Chesterfield's James Berry, and Doncaster's Luke Molyneux.

Jones’ nomination comes off the back of an impressive August, where he contributed three assists and two goals in the Magpies’ opening four matches. Building on his incredible form from last season, where he set a club record of 24 assists, Jones has quickly re-established himself as one of the league's most creative players.

Since joining Notts County in 2022, the 26-year-old has become a key figure at Meadow Lane. Renowned for his pace, dribbling, and ability to unlock defences, Jones has been instrumental in the club's positive start to the campaign. His quick feet and vision in the final third have allowed him to both create chances and score, making him a vital asset in the club’s push for promotion.

This nomination underscores Jones' crucial role in Notts County's aspirations for this season. His ability to contribute goals and assists in equal measure makes him a dangerous opponent for any team in League Two.

Jones faces strong competition for the award. Walsall defender Connor Barrett has impressed with his performances at the back, while Chesterfield's James Berry and Doncaster's Luke Molyneux have each played pivotal roles for their teams. However, Jones' combination of goals and assists may set him apart as the most influential player of the month.

Whether or not Jones wins, his August performances have certainly set the tone for what could be another standout campaign for Notts County as they aim for promotion. His presence on the field has clearly been a catalyst for the Magpies' early success, and fans will be hoping his form continues as the season progresses.

It’s brilliant to see Jodi Jones nominated for Player of the Month! He’s easily been one of the standout players in League Two this season. With three assists and two goals, his contribution is undeniable. His quick feet and sharp dribbling make him so exciting to watch, and he has a knack for turning matches in our favour.

hes been in fine form and always gives his best, i think he was brilliant in the fleetwood game. without him, i think we would have dropped that point. he gave us that surge needed to make sure we rescued a point. we could have won it by the end of the match!

Jodi Jones is an amazing talent. He always works very hard and tries to make the most of the time he plays. Since he came back to football, he's been very successful, and it's great to see. I think this award is the least he deserves. I hope he can add this award to his PFA Players' Player of the Season award and other achievements from his career. When he was 18 years old, he played for Coventry and was amazing. Now he's here, and he's still great.

This is great news for Notts County! I'm so happy for Jodi. He's an amazing player, and he's much better than most players at this level. He's one of the best players in League Two, and we were lucky to have him in the National League. I'm glad we were able to keep him and stop other teams from signing him.

I'm very happy for Jodi Jones, but I'm surprised that Dan Crowley wasn't chosen. I think Crowley has been just as good, or even better, but maybe they didn't want to choose two players from the same club. At least Jodi was chosen, and it's important for him to represent Notts. So, I'm very happy about Jodi's selection, but I'm also a little surprised.

Jodi is just continuing on with his form from last season and long may it continue.

He is an integral part of the Notts side & much of our attacking play comes through him.

I'm so pleased that Notts have held on to him past the summer transfer window.

I would love to see Notts offer Jodi an improved contract because it would be well deserved.

Meanwhile, another piece of silverware for him would be another testament to his great ability on the ball.

I’m thrilled to see Jodi Jones get the recognition he deserves. His nomination for League Two Player of the Month is no surprise considering his performances. Three assists and two goals in August highlight just how influential he’s been. His ability to unlock defences and create scoring opportunities is unmatched. Jones’ vision and pace add a dynamic element to the team that helps us dominate games. A true professional, he's a role model for younger players and a joy for us fans to watch. Even if he doesn’t win this time, he’s already a winner in our eyes and crucial for our promotion aspirations.

I would be happy if any Notts player was chosen, so I'm pleased that Jodi Jones was selected as Sky Sports' League Two Player of the Month for August. He has played very well so far, and I hope this will inspire him to play even better for Notts.

Jodi Jones’ nomination is so well-deserved! He has been a brilliant player for Notts County, significantly contributing to our great start this season. With his three assists and two goals in August, he has shown how vital he is to the team. Beyond numbers, his work rate, and determination inspire the entire team. Whether he wins or not, it's impressive to see him being recognised. Go Jones, you've got the fans’ full support!

Even if Jodi Jones doesn’t win, being named shows how well he’s doing. Although there might be other Notts players just as deserving, Sky Sports won’t see that. They will go for the players that will get them the most attention. This isn’t a criticism of Jodi. I feel he deserves the recognition, but my point is more about if he doesn’t win. He was named, and at some stage, he should pick up more Player of the Month awards.

Well done, Jodi Jones! His exceptional attitude and determination are truly something special. Oxford made a mistake in letting him go, as proven by all the awards and recognition he has earned since. I am so pleased for him.

There are so many good comments that I don’t think I could add anything different that hasn’t already been said. I think it’s great news for Notts and Jodi Jones. For our fans, it’s special too because it’s always nice to see a player up for an award. Personally, I think Stuart Maynard should be in the running for Manager of the Month.

I will be awaiting news on Friday to see who Sky Sports has named as the winner. I am hoping that Jodi Jones does well, but how many times will they choose him before they feel it’s too many times? Will there be a story for them after? I hope it is chosen on merit. Good luck, Jodi.
