Kevin Nolan tears into Notts County players following Barnet defeat

Don’t know what to make of this. I have sometimes wondered if Nolan really believes some of the things he says and his comments behind closed doors are different to those made to the media. So on one hand it was refreshing to hear him call out his players, not blame the ref, say how proud he is etc etc. On the other hand Nolan seems very much my way or no way. Is he a manager who will just dismiss other opinions and who will persevere with a particular course whatever. He can be ruthless as evidenced by lack of opportunity given to some players. That’s the worry for me. 

KN is the manager he must lead , is he dogmatic I don't know , maybe he just knows what's best , his job is on the line at the end of the day players seem to stay long after a manager is fired not just at Notts but across the board , I'm an employee I do as I'm told in my work I may have a point to make and do as I'm experienced at what I do but if my boss says still do it I just get on with it and give it my best . Players should also .

TBF it has been long due if people were honest.

There was no hiding after the shamble exit from the FA cup, Kevin knows this and he has quickly changed his tune. He needs to be more professional and keep his opinions out of the media. What he says in the dressing room should stay there, it is not for anyone else to know.

Absolutely but my point is that a good boss is open to other opinions. May still go his own way. KN has great faith in his ability and has shown that he is not afraid to make unpopular decisions. Can be great strengths but also weakness if never willing to listen to others ideas. 

Is KN not open to respectful opinion given ? I can't answere that I'm sorry to say , if only to be a fly on the wall to know , the bottom line is , respectful , but what the boss says goes , get on with it or get out , one rotten Apple and all that , if you know what I mean .

Must add as I haven't said this , maybe do the hard talk and sorting out behind closed doors as said above , but I'm not overly critical of him for that yesterday would be it was s regular thing though .

He was being passionate, bud also angry. I can understand but I judge him based the standards he has set himself and the way he has suggest he conducts himself.

There's things he shouldn't have said.

I feel it was more aimed at pleasing supporters personally and, I feel some of the comments aren't very professional but hey, it's all opinions.

Wonder how that interview would pan out if done now , not always a good thing to discuss a matter in an angry state , but it's done , managers get all sorts of things thrown at them from fans , as do players , the buck stops at the boss , I'd defend myself if my authority was being questioned .
