League One Round-Up

super_ram

Results over the weekend have gone mostly as form would suggest though Notts' fans will be very disappointed with such a heavy defeat by the hands of Oldham Athletic. On Saturday there was 5 Home wins, 2 away wins and 3 draws. On Sunday we saw a home win and a draw.

This weekends fixtures have widely opened up the play-off places and kept the automatic promotion widely open to the three teams in the running.

Notts fall to unlucky 13th with 35 points from 27 games, also on 35 points come Port Vale in 14th position after 28 games.

In 15th place comes Walsall with 34 points from 27 games, 1 point above Scunthorpe who climb to 16th having played 25 games. Barnsley move up to 17th with 32 points from 26 games.

Gillingham drop to 18th with 32 points from 28 games. Coventry fall to 19th with 31 points from 28 games. Crewe stay 20th in spite of their heavy home loss to MK Dons with 29 points from 27 games.

Walsall could have knocked Notts down a place if they had won at home to Gillingham earlier today. 6th placed Sheffield United are 11 points ahead of 21st placed Colchester.

Notts are 7 points clear of a relegation place but still only 4 points off the play-offs though some teams have games in hand.

The Gillingham result may have helped us, also it's probably another week whereby the results have been kind to us. We need to start working hard on sorting the defence out, however it could be worse - look at the sides coming up against MK Dons for example.

Only other surprise for me was the Sheffield United score, they seem to be coming back into the mix now.

i hope barnsley win on tuesday, i think play offs for us would be pushing it now but we can dream.

if we won a couple of games we might find the confidence to push on. thanks super!

It highlights just how much football is left to go, we could still do it but we would need to see a major turn around. Its look good for clubs like Sheffield United, Preston and MK Dons.

Will Swindon Town manage to keep themselves within the mix? I think they will drop into the play offs.
