No surprise here. His form dropped off alarmingly after the new year. We need to see some incomings very soon.

I’m not the least bit surprised, he was really good in the first half of the season but sadly he seemed to lose interest and it was obvious he wanted to leave. Did we sign him on a free? If so we’ve made a profit and his goals certainly helped our promotion campaign.

So let’s sign a striker who wants to bust a gut playing for Notts.

Sorted. He was always going to be the easiest one to shift. Roos and Traore much harder! Hopefully this frees up some of the wage bill for a decent signing, Mellon or someone at least of that calibre. I make it four slots free in the squad now, not including U21s and keepers.

I’m a tad surprised by this to be honest, I know we operate in that if a player valuation is met they are free to go but Burton are one the teams we are going to be in competition with to stay in the league. Let’s just hope come the end of the season this doesn’t look foolish.

We’ve lost a lot of goals with his departure now, I agree his form dropped but he’s a younger player and with forwards this isn’t uncommon. He was still coming off the bench and scoring. 14 goals in the league considering he didn’t start that many matches second half of the season is pretty impressive.

I’ve seen the other post about Mellon, makes it feel even more likely now.

Dennis is a talented player, but doesn't display the right work ethic needed to be in a Martin Paterson team. This is a good move by the club to free up wages and receive a fee which can be used to replace with a player more suited to our needs. You would think with the way the club works, they wouldn't have let him go if they didn't have someone lined up to replace him.

I was expecting this to happen - he'd fallen down the pecking order (from November onwards he was neither use nor ornament), yet due to his scoring record was always going to be easy to shift.

Like @menzinho I'd have been happier if he'd stayed in League Two rather than going to a potential rival. I just hope we can find a good replacement who can contribute the goals we need.
