Notts County are hoping to wrap up a deal for Newport County's Alex Rodman, according to reports.

Fresh from signing goalkeeper Adam Collin, the Magpies are said to be hoping to make the 29-year-old winger their second signing of the summer.

Rodman, who played under Magpies boss John Sheridan at Newport last season, has turned down a new deal with Warren Feeney's side, alerting Notts to his potential availability.

The former Aston Villa trainee, who has played for the likes of Grimsby Town, Gateshead, York City and Aldershot, scored five goals in 34 appearances for Newport during the 2015-16 campaign.

Rodman has already shown what he is capable of to Notts fans, having scored a goal for Newport in their 4-3 defeat at Meadow Lane last December.

Would you be keen on Rodman coming to Meadow Lane? Share your thoughts on the PON forum.

There are probably better options, if this move is for money i would pass.

I can't really comment, his age being 29 makes you wonder (especially the lack of pedigree) but I trust Sheridan to enquire the right players needed.
