Notts County have confirmed the signing of former Port Vale captain Carl Dickinson.
The 29-year-old has been unveiled at Meadow Lane this afternoon, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
A Stoke City academy graduate, Dickinson made his professional debut with the club in 2004 and helped the Potters win promotion to the Premier League, where he played five games.
Dickinson then played for Watford, Portsmouth and Coventry City before joining Port Vale in 2013 and was appointed club captain a year later, making 127 league appearances at the club.
He told the official Notts website: "I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to get going.
"I'm a leader, I like to be loud in the dressing room and get the lads going.
"I'm going to show people I'm a good defender - I don't mind dishing it out a little bit, I'm hard working, wear my heart on my sleeve and give everything, day in, day out."
