Opposition View: How Fleetwood Town’s New Signings Could Impact the Notts County Game

I appreciate Tom’s answers. Some could have been more detailed, but I understand it’s early in the season. Relegation can be dreadful, as we Notts fans know, but Fleetwood have a good chance of doing well and could be one of the teams fighting for a playoff place.

Good questions. I think Fleetwood might give us a very tough home game. They won’t want to face their first loss of the season, but I believe we have a strong squad. I hope we don’t settle for a draw and can impress enough to win.

i am pleased to read that they might need a striker, its something we could do with despite the good options we have. it feels a bit more unknown with it being at home but i am glad we got off the mark with scoring against shrewsbury. i think it will be a tough game. thanks tom for answering pons questions!

Fleetwood were one of the relegated team last season from League 1, but as you have iterated @Chris, Fleetwood are not to be underestimated. 

They had a great result in the League Cup beating West Brom, and they will be very keen to make a quick return to League 1 this season.

I disagree with Fleetwood's supporter's opinion that they will win the league, however I think they will be there or there abouts at the season's end.

Notts will have to be at their very best against them, & Stuart will need to play his strongest available side.

Fleetwood will be a big test for Stuart's new team and formation.

Notts need to be on their guard defensively & we will need to see more chances created by our attacking midfielders.

The first half display last night was very encouraging for Notts, however the second half performance was concerning.

Notts need to put the league cup game behind them now and if they need to grind out a result against Fleetwood, so be it.

I think Notts will have to do that quite a lot in matches this season. But I do think we have the players to do that if necessary.

The opposition views are good to see back on PON. Good set of questions too, so I am very pleased with the insight. I think Tom is right about it being a good game.

Thanks to Tom for his insights into Fleetwood, I’m hoping the home advantage will play in Notts favour, hopefully the nervousness that was apparent in some of the home games last season will have gone. I’m glad to hear they aren’t particularly strong going forward although they did have a good result against West Brom so they’ll be confident.
