I have heard from a few fans of the Irish league that Tiernan Brooks looks to be a decent keeper in the making; for him to become our regular we need to keep pushing but offer him the chance to play.

Performances like the one mentioned above should come more common with his experience gaining.

I would have Tiernan in as our #1, after Stone's performance yesterday

He didn’t cover himself with glory did he? I thought he looked very nervous and his kicking was awful, people critics Slocombe for his kicking but Stone was terrible.

I was at the Derry City game the Friday before. Tiernan did very well. He could do nothing about the goal. It was a world class strike. He hadn't much to do against Shamrock Rovers. They had won the league the previous week and fielded a second string side. Cork City are in the relegation final next Friday night. Lose and they are relegated. Tiernan will definitely start in goal.

Tiernan Brooks isn’t quite prepared to be the regular first choice yet, but he could be in due course. Fans may criticise him for minor errors, which are normal for a goalkeeper his age. Just as people find fault with Sam Slocombe, who is perfectly adequate at this level. As for Aidan Stone, he appears to be a promising prospect but needs to maintain a clear and focused mindset on the game. I don’t overly criticise goalkeepers, simply because they have the toughest job on the field.
