Stuart is absolutely delighted to be keeping Alassana Jatta after all the speculation about offers from other clubs, & what turned out to be a firm offer from Plymouth for £750k, that Notts turned down during the January transfer window.

Stuart has also praised Jatta for his recent performances & him not taking his eye off the ball despite all the speculation.

Jatta has been influential in Notts's recent form which saw them climb back up the table & now hold one of the promotion places in third place.

Jatta has scored six goals & created two others during a run of seven wins in nine matches since mid-December.

Talking to the BBC Maynard told BBC Radio Nottingham. "We are delighted to keep him. It's really important for the football club, especially for the back-end of the season".

"The way AJ has performed this season has been incredible, & not just with the goal return, but his work ethic & everything he brings to the team."

It is clear that Jatta staying is going to be a big boost to the team & the fans. Whether Notts get promoted for not, Jatta's value will only increase & that's a big win win for Notts.

A great solo goal by Jatta against Morecambe. Stuart must be absolutely delighted with him and the team.

The thing some fans aren't used to is seeing our players wanted, especially enough for clubs to offer good money. Previously, we have tended to gift players, and I honestly didn't fear that Jatta would leave. There will be a time when it happens, but he looks settled and a big part of what makes him a success is the enjoyment he gets from being around Notts. There will come a time when he feels it's right to move on, to which I would hope we can still attract a good fee.

Yet his contributions to Notts are the main thing; we are privileged to have him at our club.
