Sorry I didn’t start the weekly chat yesterday I’ve had a lot going on yesterday that I won’t bore you with.

Anyway how is everyone? Fighting fit I hope? It’s a lovely day again, we are going to our sons this morning to take delivery of a table as they are both out. A walk in the sunshine hopefully later if it’s not to hot.

Have a great day whatever you are doing.

A beautiful morning here. Looks like it's going to be a very warm one.

Just looking on the news this morning there has been a big house explosion in Bristol. The terraced house has been completely destroyed & adjacent buildings are damaged too. It is a suspected gas explosion.

There has been a large fire at a substation in London once again. The fire is still going strong & firefighters are trying to get it under control.

There are the ongoing problems with power cuts in Spain & Portugal. Some of the power has been restored but the reasons for the outage is still unclear.

One interesting story was about a Violin that was made by hand by an inmate of Dachau Concentration camp in 1942.

The Violin was built by finding available wood in the camp. There was also a secret message inside the Violin & the name of the man who built it.

The man actually survived being interned in the camp.

It's going to be a scorcher here. Blue Sky, plenty of warm Sun since 9 am this morning. It is already 19 C outside & they are forecasting at least 25 C+ later on today.

We will be spending some time out in the garden today to soak up this Sunshine, covered up of course with plenty of factor 50.

The only ones not enjoying this wonderful weather will be the energy companies.

We’ve just got back from a lovely walk around a nature reserve, we used our Merlin bird identication app, here are some of the birds it picked up. Chiffchaff Robin, Wren, Blackbird, Blackcap, Graylag goose, Great ***, Canada Goose, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Coal ***, Cetti’s Warbler, Common Wood Pigeon, Blue ***. 14 different birds not a bad haul.

IMG_7043.jpegWho said sheep are stupid, if you look carefully these sheep are sheltering from the sun in the shade, mind you I would too if I had a sheepskin coat on.

Good morning all, thank you to eagle eyed @Piethagoram for spotting the mistake in the title of yesterdays thread, you’ve passed the moderators eyesight test congratulations.

We forgot to book an online shop this week so it’s a rare visit to a supermarket today, then a relaxing day in the garden after our long walk yesterday we need a rest, bbq chicken salad for tea. Yum yum.

Have an enjoyable day everyone and if you are out in the sun put sunscreen on and very importantly wear a hat, a few years ago I had a skin cancer lump dug out of my head and it wasn’t a pleasant experience so be warned.

Usual Thursday walk to local shop was very warm but pleasant,In the afternoon I tidied the back garden grass up a bit.I used my strimmer as there was a lot of twigs and bits of  branch  accumulated over the winter in the grass..I'm hoping to catch up a bit more with the gardening tomorrow by cutting the hedges.

It was a beautiful start to the morning with lots of sunshine. Completed a three mile walk & then some work in the garden.

Been glued to the TV this afternoon. The day seems to be getting better and better.

The icing on the cake would be a win by Notts tomorrow & automatic promotion. The way things are going we can't rule anything out.

Good morning, it’s matchday! :clapping:

I’m looking forward to going with Chloe, although I’ve suddenly come down with a cold and sore throat but I’ll dose up on paracetamol, I’m not missing this one, it could be a momentous day.

No park run for me this morning I’m saving all my strength for the match.

Have great day and COME ON YOU PIES!

I forgot to say I’ll also be keeping an eye on the Derby result and hoping they win just so that our old mate @super_ram doesn’t get all grumpy.

COME ON YOU RAMS!

So many permutations @Fan of Big Tone. The Rams could lose and still stay up but that would mean Stoke(We play them at home today)Preston,Luton drawing or winning and Hull winning. You know what a cruel game football can be at times.Notts have a far tougher job trying to gain automatic promotion.but I'll still be rooting for you.

Derby have confirmed their place in the Championship for next season.

Luton are relegated by goal difference joining Plymouth and Cardiff in League 1 next season.

Very nervy throughout because if Stoke had scored Rams Championship future came down to goal difference.I now need The Magpies to do well in the play offs.Good luck!

Good afternoon/evening depending on when you’re reading this.

My cold and sore throat has turned into full blown man flu so I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself. We are sitting with the grandkids at the moment while their mum and dad are out, they’ve gone to see Harry Hill, I hope they aren’t too late I need to go to bed.

Hopefully everyone else is ok and looking forward to the playoffs, it’s not over yet we could still do it.

Yesterday (before the match) I got back from a couple of days in Nuremberg. It's a wonderful city with a gorgeous old town and a copious supply of beer and sausages, I can definitely recommend it.

On a side note, yesterday is all my fault. At the market square, I noticed that people were climbing onto a fountain and rubbing a metal ring as this apparently brings good luck. I didn't do it. Worse, it started raining, so I went in the nearby church and accidentally blasphemed when my phone went off. So I'm sorry for single-handedly ruining our season. It was a nice trip though.

@Piethagoram, I might have a go with Interrail myself soon. Lufthansa's prices to the UK have grown to the extent that an Interrail ticket including Eurostar reservation costs about the same.

It was an overcast & much colder day as late here. Thankfully the rain kept off & I managed to get a couple of hours gardening work done.

Spent the late afternoon watching three westerns from the forties & fifties. Two starring Henry Fonda, with Dana Andrews & Anthony Quinn in supporting roles in one & a young Anthony Perkins in the other

The third film starred Richard Widmark from 1956. They were three good stories that I'd not seen before. All three had good endings too.
