Player Contracts That Expire 30 June 26.

Featured Replies

There are quite a few players who's contracts expire on the 30th June 26. Those players are:-

1.Matty Platt

2.Nick Tsaroulla

3.Keanan Bennetts

4.Maziar Kouhyar

5.Oliver Norburn

6.Rod McDonald

7.Milai Perott

Loan Players

1.Tom Iorpenda

2.Tyrese Hall

3.Jaden Luker

Option to buy

1.Harald Tangen

So there are 6 senior squad members, plus 1 option to buy, excluding the pure loanees, who's contracts expire in 2026. That's a large number of players where decisions have to be made after the season ends.

That's quite a quiet year by recent standards. There are 10 expirations in 2027 for example, before we add any loanees.

Of those 7, 4 are no-brainer contract offers IMO. The other 3 are interesting - I'd say Bennetts, Kouhyar and maybe controversially Norburn have to prove their worth more during this run-in. We got an assist from Kouhyar at Walsall and a goal from Bennetts at Accy. More of that, please. Norburn is 33 and his last game was Chesterfield....we need to see a return to only positive contributions from here on in, I'd say

I think many decisions will be made on whether Notts get promoted or not. McDonald & Norburn are both 33. Norburn has experience in the Championship & League 1, McDonald has League 1 experience.

McDonald is arguably our best defender, & Norburn has demonstrated his value. I think with their experience, they could both be useful in League 1 if Notts were promoted.

With Nick Tsaroulla there is an option for another year on his present contract. Other players like Keanan Bennetts & Maziar Kouhyar, who has an option to extend his contract for another year, we will have to see what happens.

As far as Matty Platt he has an injury to deal with. Hopefully, he can recover during the summer off season. I think that he has earned a contract extension with his performances. He's good enough for League 1.

If I were Notts I'd put in an offer for Tom Iorpenda if Notts get promoted, or even if they didn't. He's a very good player who suits the Notts style perfectly & would do well in League 1.

I would be happy to see any lof those players sign on again for next season to be honest, with a few caveats. Matty Platt's contract should be renewed, but for a minimum of two years as he'll probably miss a fair chunk of next season. Kouhyar and Bennetts have contributed and Bennetts in particular has real potential, but I can see the club looking elsewhere for someone who would be an automatic starter. Norburn and McDonald have the quality (if not the brains in the case of the former), but their age might count against them. And as for Harry Tangen, I don't think we've seen the best of him yet but MP clearly rates him - let's see what he can do in the final weeks of the season.
