According to Transfermarkt Notts have paid a fee for 24 players under the current owners (out of 135 arrivals).

Five of them were signed this summer. Of the other 19 here are my judgements - open to debate and correction! I'm a bit hazy on some of the earlier ones. Pretty good overall. People always dwell on the duds.

3 sold at a profit: Macaulay Langstaff, Alassana Jatta, Alex Bass.

8 current assets: Lewis Macari, Conor Grant, Lucas Ness, Rod McDonald, Beck-Ray Enoru, James Belshaw, Lee Ndlovu, Luke Browne.

5 did a job for us: Kyle Wootton, Dion Kelly-Evans, Joel Taylor, Kairo Mitchell, Sam Austin.

3 duds: Junior Morias, Will Jarvis, Maï Traoré.

This is interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure Kyle Wootton saw out his contract for us and left as a free agent. Conversely, Jodi Jones was under contract when we joined us, do we know if we paid a fee? If so it was a bargain.

We won't be selling players like Belshaw and McDonald for a profit as they're close to the end of their careers, but others such as Ness and Macari were clearly brought in for us to develop. That won't always work out but our hit rate is impressive.

Wootton - absolutely right, corrected that.

JJ - was on a four year contract at Coventry but can;t find mention of a fee anywhere.

I think Grant was a part exchange for Nemane.

Dan Crowley went for profit; he left his club and joined us on a free transfer.

Kyle Wootton did leave on a free; he refused to re-sign and ended up joining Stockport County because he wanted to play in the EFL. Jodi Jones came to us for free, if I recall correctly, as Ruben Rodrigues was out of contract and Oxford United signed him when Jodi was released.

I think we have done okay with spending money, but some of the higher fees have been a huge flop, such as Mai Traore.

Yes I've not included ones we didn't pay a fee for but sold on - notably Crowley as you say, also Nemane and Dennis, plus small amounts for Kellan Gordon and a few others. Record looks even more impressive with them added.
