Notts County Ladies kick off their Continental Cup campaign on Wednesday night as they host WSL2 side Aston Villa Ladies.

Β
Notts come into the game unbeaten, after three wins and a draw that have seen them top the league and progress through to the semi final of the FA WomenÒ€ℒs Cup. Goals from Captain Sophie Bradley and striker Jess Clarke sealed CountyÒ€ℒs place in the semis, with a 2-0 victory over Portsmouth Ladies last time out.
Β
In contrast, Aston Villa are still looking for their first victory, after three losses and a draw in their opening four games, including crashing out of the FAW Cup to Doncaster Rovers Belles.
Β
The Lady Pies will be looking to the fire power of Jess Clarke and Dunia Susi, who have got six goals between them, in the first four games, Jess on a run of four goals in the last three games. Despite scoring the first goal on Sunday, Sophie BradleyÒ€ℒs attenttions will focus at the other end of the pitch, the home side looking to keep their impressive defensive record going with County conceding only two goals in the four games.

Good game for ST Holders to take advantage of by attending for free, I think Villa's ladies will be trying to prove a point. They will not want to be cast a-side in the cup, especially since they are still searching for their first league win.

I have a feeling our own ladies will come out stronger than they did in the Portsmouth game and hopefully score within the first 20 minutes.

The home crowd being behind them will surely encourage them and I think we could get a pretty decent score here, perhaps 3/4 goals.

No doubt, though it will be a good thing for the club and fans.

Interesting concept for the cup, it would be nice if we can win one of these and have some sort of celebration at Meadow Lane!

Notts are only 2 games away from being FA Cup champions. They should beat Everton in the semis. Then it's Chelsea, Birmingham or Arsenal in the final at MK Dons.Β
