Gladbach create club record

Tonight's 2-0 win in Cyprus makes it 18 games without defeat in league, cup and Europa league since the start of the season, beating 17 at the start of 70-71.

I'm getting carried away, I was even disappointed with a draw against FC Bayern a couple of weeks ago. The triple is still on!

Tell 'em to send us some players. We could do with a bit of this again ourselves!

Good record, hope they do it @ivansbeck

Rather them than the top two teams do it.

Is it possible they can reach the heights and success they enjoyed during the 70's.. I just think that the Munchkins have a strangle hold

The short answer is no.

Five Bundesliga titles in 8 years is out of reach. This is more like the mid-90's - a cup win and a few runs in Europe.

European football is what the fans want more than anything else really. It's the opportunity to travel, for example 10 000 went to FC Zurich last month (out of a crowd of 17 000).

As to the Munchkins, a number of Gladbach coaches tried a midfield full of munchkins a few times in the early 2000's - relegation resulted.

I disagree with any comments about a German side being the best in Europe personally, Bayern are a good side and one which shows how important it is to be together as a squad. They have some very classy players, majority of which would no doubt walk into any of the best 10 European teams but for me they're not all that great.

It's like people saying PSG now have a good side.

I wonder how many teams from each nation would remain in a super league's first division if one was ever created? One thing for sure, United would struggle! LOL

@notts-joe I do think, that a team can be acclaimed the best in Europe, England etc... At least momentarily, until they get knocked off their perch..

Whereas I'd agree, I do feel at a single time there is not much difference between the top three teams in Europe and possibly even more. A lot can change on the day which is why I feel that no German side is currently the best.

The gaps for sides to stand way above others is falling.

Just look at Real Madrid who are struggling to make their squad stand out and now United who have the most expensive Premiership squad in the history of the league.

They cannot get it right and having spent that much, it just shows you that it's about 'top teams'.
