Chris keeps mum on Magpies job

<!--url{0}-->Chris Kiwomya played down his chances of being handed the Notts County job on a permanent basis after a 1-1 draw at Walsall.

Walsall striker Will Grigg converted a 29th-minute penalty after County goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski had fouled Jamie Paterson, but half-time substitute Yoann Arquin fired home a second-half equaliser for the visitors.

Kiwomya, pleased his side had responded after a disappointing first-half display, said: "At half-time I was disappointed even though it was a difficult pitch to play on. I didn't think we really penetrated.

"I emphasised that at half-time and in the second half we were so much better and there was a lot more urgency to our game, with people willing to run and go for the second ball."

Alan Judge spurned two golden scoring chances and Kiwomya said: "He's a top player, but he'll be disappointed that he hasn't hit the target because it changes he whole momentum of the game and I think we would have gone on to win quite easily."

Asked whether he hoped to become the full-time manager, Kiwomya replied: "I will just do the best I can.

"The players responded to me at half-time and if we had had 90 minutes of that I would have been happy. I thought in the second half we looked the team that wanted to win.

"The players were courageous and gave me everything in the second half."

A much better second half, I was hoping to read a comment from 2pies regarding his view since he was at the game but we did seem to play better in the second half. I think they did well considering but it's time we either settle for what we do or look to try and get back on tracks. I personally think Chris can do the job if we aren't aiming for play-offs but if this is still our goal, time to get a manager who can assert himself and make changes.

Nothing against Chris, just how I see it.
