Eurovision

It's that time of year again ... will any of you be watching Eurovision tonight?

It's always a great excuse for a party - the cream of European music , food with little European flags stuck in it, some friends (although they're "washing their hair" this year) and a bottle of whisky make for a great night in. And the great thing about whisky is that it makes ther music better / more bearable as the evening goes on!

As if you haven't suffered enough in 2015/16, here's our entry:

Not interested in this at all, people say FIFA needs overhauling but so does this. There's little point watching it, except for the humorous singers but that's all in my opinion.

Pretty much as I first saw the BBC clip promoting it, I lost interested.

As above, I am not interested. The UK never selects a good act any way.

So the winner this year was a song filled with politics when political songs are banned from the Eurovision, nice one that, organisers! I didn't watch it as it is complete dirge, in fact I haven't seen one since Lordi won it and that was only because it was on in the pub.

It is turning out like the EU, we're in it, but not really sure if we want to be!

There were a couple of songs in there that had me tapping my feet, but the winner is an outrage IMO. The point of Eurovision was to bring people together, but the whole point of that song is to provoke and deliver a slap in the face to Russia. The Ukrainian government will now do their best to use next year's final for their own ends. Don't be surprised if there are boycotts. A final in Moscow would have been a similar circus, of course. For me Russia and Australia had the best songs, but an Australian win would have brought its own problems ...

The new way of presenting the votes was an eye-opener too. Poland's dreadful song getting 7 points from 42 juries and then about 280 points from the telephone voters was a particular gem ...
