Burke must never play for Notts again

This may sound harsh as he has talent, but he is totally unprofessional in his approach. His laziness in allowing a Scunny player to run round him in ET to win a free kick that lead to the first goal was very bad. However, what followed was an appalling attempt to blame all the other players, especially Dickinson for his error. Dicko (captian of course) went mad at him and Burke argued and then sulked winning no more challenges that night.

A team cannot carry a player who refueses to take responsibility for his own mistakes/failings. He will totally undermine team morale, and last night IMO cost Notts a possible cup win.

seems a bit early to say this imo.

burke has not featured much for notts since being dropped, which could explain why he is rusty.

For me he has alot of quality but is too slow to play on the wing, he always seems to be jogging, mike Edwards looks quicker than Burke most of the time!

Burke has a good left foot shot but the rest of his game / attitude leaves a lot to be desired.

He can pass and shoot but other than that he's a liability

I must admit it seems harsh, however I may sound biased because I do like him.

Just like the squad however, I do feel we need to give things a few games before we start passing judgement. Right now the players will be frustrated with losing their two opening games, yet there are positives from last night. John Sheridan needs to strive for more consistency, whilst certain players need motivating. Those that don't make the grade after a reasonable point should probably be looked at potential replacements.

That said, I know Burke's got talent - it just needs bringing out.

@ivansneck totally agree 2-0 down at Yeovil and he's showing off doing pointless tricks..

@liampie he's had the same pre season as everybody else, difference is he lacks the effort that the other players put in. Needs to do a course in tackling. He's more Idle than Izale.

we were near some scunthorpe players who were all incredibly critical of Burke at first I thought they were being harsh but as the game went on I started to agree with them

@TheFostarr94 kind of agree I'm afraid , got talent for sure , but to lazy to carry , this is league 2 no room for passengers, makes you wonder if some footballers realise how lucky they really are .

I've always thought, considering he came from Aston Villa, that he has looked distinctly average. My impression is that he his coasting. You only need to compare the impact that another young Aston Villa player made at Notts- Jack Grealish - to feel underwhelmed by Burke's contribution. Saying that I would love to be proved wrong, and see him make an impact in midfield.

He's the type of player that is unstoppable when in form, we saw this in the earlier part of last season - however much some may forget. At Villa he was one of the stand-out players.

Saturday he didn't really do anything, yet, its players like Burke that Sheridan should be looking into ways of getting what he can out of them, otherwise why does he play him over others? It makes no sense and I will always feel there is a player to come out there. Fingers crossed we can get it, but he's not the worst player we have by any stretch of the imagination.

.."unstoppable when in form".... which match was that? At Villa, was his only "motivated" performance

Nah, not true.

Look back to the games where he scored, when Nobles formed dipped - he lifted us and fans was giving him rave reviews (albeit ball greedy).
