It had the writing on the wall, unfortunately, he would be destined to play as a centre back and would virtually never be given a chance in his proper position due to the options we have. I think this is a deal more to make sure Adam Chicksen gets game time, and is happy with that because I think his career at Notts is now over. He can't be a bench player at his age, so I respect that he has gone out to Woking. I think he's better than that standard, but it's difficult to see him getting the minutes here.

I think it highlights how close teams are at the top end of League Two, I really don't think the match was boring or as bad as some of the comments I overheard during the game or have seen after it. Had Notts scored first, the game would have been so much different. That's not a question, because we would have grown into it more, and it would have forced Port Vale to be more open. I always felt like there wouldn't be many goals in the game. As I predicted and mentioned in the content before, I did feel 2 goals would be in it but at the same time I did feel it could easily just end up with a single goal. I missed that, I looked at my camera screen and the ball was by then in the back of the net. Looking at the highlights, I do think it looks offside and as for the foul mentioned by Stuart Maynard, I just don't know. I don't really think it matters, because we still need to focus on handling that situation. I felt frustrated, Port Vale players attempting to provoke our fans and that is never a good thing to see. It was good to see them eventually run to their own supporters, not sure the other group had to run to confront the Pavis Stand. They were happy to continue when we had players down, but threw a fit when they did it to time waste. Again, we just need to continue, but I do hope the club realises that we need another striker. Josh Martin unfortunately doesn't impress me, he does need further time, but I fail to see how he brings any of the benefits to our team that we haven't already got. Poor passes, lightweight on the ball and runs into areas where Port Vale can easily prevent him. I believe Sam Austin performed significantly better.

I feel for them, to lead and then to allow the game to shift the opposite direction. I thought Peterborough had a good team, but hoped ours would be able to see it out. At 3-2, I feared Peterborough had grown into the game.

Dan Crowley was involved in everything, and whilst I thought Kellan Gordon and Jacob Bedeau both did well, neither really earned my vote like Crowley did.

Rewind to 2015, when every community member, including Granny, loved to take potshots at @super_ram. The voice-over for @Fan of Big Tone still makes me laugh. ???? A bit of banter from me at times with Super too, oh how I miss these days, but all good things should leave a smile.

Introduction: Name: Steven Crank. How long have you supported Port Vale? 30 years. Are you a season ticket holder? Unfortunately, not because of work. Age? I’m 35. Favourite Player? Stephen McPhee Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you became a Port Vale fan? What are some of your earliest memories supporting the team? I’m 35 years old and a forklift truck driver. I’ve been following the Vale since I was 3 years old. My Nan used to take me until I was old enough to go with the lads. My earliest memories are beating Stockport 2-1 at Wembley to win the league trophy. I was 4 years old. What has been your most memorable match as a Port Vale supporter? Conversely, what has been the most heart-breaking moment for you? Apart from all the times we have beaten Stoke in local derbies, my most memorable moment was beating Tranmere at home 2-1. We needed to win to keep the play-off hope alive. Steve McPhee scored a 92nd-minute winner out of nowhere. Amongst that, Tom Pope scoring at the Etihad or Leon Constantine scoring to put us 1 up away at Tottenham. On the flip side, my most heartbreaking moment has to be beating Rushden and Diamonds away to get into the play-offs, meanwhile Swindon and Hartlepool played for a draw which halted our play-off push on the final day of the season. A win by either team would have cemented our place. How do you usually follow Port Vale matches? Do you prefer watching games live at the stadium, on TV, or listening to the radio? With work commitments, I tend to watch on my stream or radio but go as much as I can. I’ve been to a fair few grounds as well, some that no longer exist. What are your thoughts on Port Vale’s performance so far this season? Do you think they can secure a play-off place, or higher? While being quietly optimistic, it would be Vale all over to fizzle out. But with an experienced manager and the likes of Stockley, Byers, Benning, Garrity, and Chislett, we could easily get 3rd place. But it’s a dog-eat-dog league and anything can happen. How do you feel about the current management and coaching staff? Are there any changes you would like to see in the club’s strategy or approach? I’m happy with Darren Moore, although his interviews are boring as hell.???? I’d like to see a more attacking approach to games because it’s League 2. If you attack, you will get goals. We seem to score and sit back, and the inevitable always happens. How do you think Port Vale’s style of play compares to other teams in League Two? Are there any teams you particularly enjoy watching them play against? I haven’t seen enough teams yet so far to comment on this one. Anyone who plays attacking football is always good to watch. What are your thoughts on the upcoming match against Notts County? How do you think the game will go, and what do you predict the final score will be? While Jodi Jones is out, there is always a chance. Backed by 2300 Valiants, the away end will be rocking. But typical Vale, backed by a tremendous following, normally don’t turn up. Notts County is definitely one of the stronger teams in this league, so it’ll be a close game. I’m sitting on the fence with this one and saying 2-2, with goals from Ben Garrity and Jayden Stockley. Final comments from Chris This will be a game for both teams which will test their promotion credentials, a good result for Notts would be a welcomed return to winning ways after the frustrating defeat against Gillingham. Notts will be hoping the 12th man and home advantage will benefit them the most, as they take to the Meadow Lane pitch. With the absence of Jodi Jones, it will be noteworthy to see how Kellan Gordon does in the position and if he can continue the fight. Port Vale are in good form themselves, and will prove themselves to be a very difficult outfit to face on home soil. They will be looking to make it four wins in five or three draws in five, hoping to defeat at all costs. I can't see many goals being in the game, perhaps only two, and I am hoping both goals are to Notts, yet it may end 1-1. Inchconnachan: The British island where wallabies rule WWW.BBC.COM Once the rural retreat of a powerboat-racing countess, this uninhabited isle is now a slow-travel paradise that's home to Scotland's most exotic mammal. I remember watching a nature show on TV, where they mentioned this. It wasn't David Attenborough who was narrating it, but someone else. I think this is where, I could have gone on a school trip when I was 16. Some of my year, went to a Scottish island to see them and do outside activities. I didn't like the idea of the time it took to travel, so I never showed interest. The nature documentary almost made me regret the decision.

@Piethagoram I do feel, Carlisle were coming into the game more, but I do agree, the subs made it harde, butt I think had we seen more control - the changes would have found it easier to get themselves up to the speed of play. Once Jevani Brown came on, it looked like every ball was lumped forward and most wasn't near to him. Carlisle really turned things around in the second half. Watching the highlights, you can appreciate just how good Alex Bass is for us.

I managed to free up some time to go to visit my mum/grandparents/aunt and daughter. It's been killing me, being unable to go. I find a lot of peace from being to make it, whereas lengthy spells between just starts getting to me. Having been to Carlisle, which is thanks to my friend, has been an enjoyable time. He paid for my ticket, drove me and has offered to help with the Pride of Nottingham flag. He's an unsung hero, who I am incredibly thankful for. Mark is a star! It's been a really good week, just need to find time to go see @super_ram. Which, I will do on Sunday.

So, they should be bringing a fair amount. I hope they come friendly and lively, because when the Jimmy Sirrel stand is loud it does encourage the KOP. Port Vale are doing well, they'll be tough but I am not worried that they will outplay us. I am just encouraged to see how the game unfolds. I wonder how the team will look, considering we played mid-week and Saturday before that. It's good that Jatta, Cedwyn Scott and Scott Robertson are all back. I am really looking forward to the game, it should be a good test for both teams.

I love grounds like Carlisle United's, Brunton Park is such an interesting ground. The fan zone that Liam Cole, a Carlisle supporter from our Opposition View, described to me is fantastic. It was great to see Notts fans mingling with Carlisle fans. The quirky options of food and drinks, being so open, right next to the ground, is something which Notts should look into for The Nest. The floodlights made it a bit difficult for me to see; it wasn't the best lit ground but also, my eyes can be a little off. I hadn't noticed that Alex Bass had sent a precise pass to Jatta, but I did see him skilfully control the ball and finish the opportunity brilliantly. That surge came at a good time, as I thought Carlisle were starting to find their own feet. Carlisle did come close in the first half, they had the header from a cross which went wide. That was a very dangerous attack, and difficult for their player to direct, but it was a good move. That was the only time I felt like I was on the edge of my seat. I'll explain why when I talk about the second half. In the second half I felt Carlisle were coming more into the game before Stuart Maynard made the changes. We looked like we had shut shop and had to become very defensive minded, which I have no arguments about. Our squad has played many minutes and the first half's intensity would have been a big thing for some of our returning players like Jatta and Scott Robertson. There were a lot of moans by a select few groups near me, who didn't like how the game had swayed and within their comments dismissed Carlisle as being a very poor team. Whilst, I would say they didn't defend very well at times in the first half, they played some excellent football and I felt that their issues weren't in the midfield but their defence and finishing. I don't like how some of our fans seem to think we can't be outplayed. Dismissing Carlisle's quality, which in the second half was inabudnace, I did feel that their lack of clinicalness would never see them beat Alex Bass. That's why, despite some moments where they looked comfortable, I never really returned to the edge of my seat. I thought defensively, Notts dealt with everything very well and Bass was class with everything that did get past our defence. It was a great result for Notts, our fans loved every minute of the game which was impressive to see the final cheers, after the whistle had blown for full-time.

No doubt in my mind that Alex Bass deserves to be named the Man of the Match, so he gets my vote. Everyone was praising his performance to me, even Chud the photographer. I thought Alex did excellently, and on my journey home I was further communicating with Liam Cole, and he agreed that Bass deserved to be named it. Excellent performance by our keeper, who Staurt Maynard is correct in saying that he's the best in this league.

Our host just experienced a brief amount of downtime, which effected all of their servers - including ours. The need to reset their data centre sparked significant outrage among users. It didn't seem to be long, but I thought I would let members know. ????

From the highlights I believe he did, but there are plenty of times dangerous tackles have seen the defending player make contact with the ball. I think there needs to be clearer rules against challenges to prevent "contact" being used as an excuse for making poor fouls or decisions. It's a shocking challenge, I would hope things are helped towards protecting players.

I believe if you have good players, then their ability on the pitch will help others striving to improve their own game. So, whilst I would be disappointed that this could potentially push our own academy players further down the pecking order. I do acknowledge that it wouldn't when it comes to EFL Trophy games. It seems unlikely that we will see one of our own youngsters frequently on the bench or even starting in the league. So, I would hope this would push the younger players who want to be a part and not happy to settle for when they are selected. They need to be showing a fighting spirit to be noticed by Stuart Maynard, so I am not against this at all but I don't think we would need any further loans if this were to happen.

I believe this and Chud, a Nottingham-based photographer, have masterfully captured the inherent dangers of the challenge. Watching the full game highlights, their player does reach the ball. Yet his boot is raised, his studs are showing, and it went through Jodi when he ran with the ball. That is very dangerous. He has limited control of what he's doing in that motion, most players don't even have their arms stretched up and wide when making these sorts of tackles. It says to me, he was stretching for the ball, which again is dangerous to do. Their fans seem to think it's perfectly fine, but they wouldn't have had it been one of their own. I call this straight, if it was a Notts player that did it - I would call it out as dangerous play. Images are at times do not give the full picture, but even this attempt on Jodi by comparing it to the highlights deserved a yellow card. Highs high again, stretching for the ball with a lunging in motion.

I'm starting to get ready to leave for Carlisle. I am taking the Pride of Nottingham flag which has only ever been used during the COVID times at Meadow Lane and Wembely. I am not sure if I will take it in, but I will see what my friend thinks. I also plan to meet up with @Dripsey3, which I am looking forward to. He told me he wanted to get a Cumberland Sausage Hot Dog, so I will keep my eyes peeled for people eating one. ????

I would have to look at a map. It is interesting and something I haven't thought of before. I just think of games based on where they are, rather than North, South etc. No idea why this map doesn't include, Notts but it gives some idea as to the clubs locations. It's very random team based, I would say.

This is etched into my memory when I think of quotes from football. I don't know about anyone else, but I always have the habit of impersonating the commentator who said it by trying to say it exactly like him. I do this most times, I think of it. ???? Also, this one is there too. I had a similar thing, when Kevin Nolan unfairly criticised me in a press conference because JJ had shared pictures of Liam Noble training, which was sent to him by a friend called Ben Hastings (who sadly passed on from cancer). He referred to me as "Arsenal fan TV" and claimed "He always has his picture taken with the players." I only have a few pictures, and more are from after Kevin had left Notts. It was usually Jake and Cal who had pictures with the players, and it wasn't like we bugged them. Just Kevin being a little pathetic about something very minor. He has since apologised, so it's water under the bridge but hate the time I would have happily had a boxing match with him for charity. Don't write me off!
