  1. If Notts starts off on the wrong foot, the crowd might become restless, which could add to the pressure. The players need to take more responsibility when defending; there’s no excuse for them to crumble. The strategy of playing three centre backs works at home, but perhaps a rethink is needed for away games. If we don’t secure at least a point against Crawley, it would be a big let-down. We have to face it, we’re doing well, but talk of promotion from the board and club only increases the pressure.
  2. He quickly won over fans with his enthusiasm and standout performances on the field. He was a truly entertaining player who netted some fantastic goals during his stint at Notts. Even on less eventful days, he managed to display a touch of brilliance.
  3. Williams' post-match natter certainly cuts deep. His honesty, though refreshing, highlights the harsh truth that the performance was not up to par. However, the burden shouldn’t solely rest on his shoulders. The players on the pitch need to rise to the occasion as well. Now is the time to put in the effort, shake off the disappointment, and gear up for the next match.
  4. Bostock's insights into the team's culture and performance reveal a lot about why Notts County is such a unique club. The highlight for me is the importance he places on leadership and teamwork - that's what makes a great team. And it's even better to see him express joy in helping younger players. Very inspiring!
  5. Notts County brings a level of enthusiasm and performance this season that is infectious. Their ascendance in the league table reflects their commitment and dedication. Losing Jodi Jones to suspension could have been a setback but the fighting spirit of the team assuages any doubts. It's wonderful to see the supporters rally behind the team, their cheers and encouragement adds a layer of confidence to the squad. Matches like these are not just won on the field but off it as the fans’ support makes a massive difference. Here's to a game filled with incredible goals and unforgettable moments of brilliance.
  6. It's great to see players like Crowley not just shine on the field, but also keep a critical eye on their performance. A balance of praise when it's due and an understanding of areas to improve is the mark of a true professional. Crowley has been in excellent form and his upfront reflection promises even better performance from him and the team alike. Here's to Notts County's continual improvement and triumphant journey ahead.
  7. To me, this isn't just about the two halves. It's about conditioning and mental strength. Yes, we were breathtaking in the first half, but we slackened our grip and let it slip away in the second. It's about teaching the lads not to let complacency creep in. Keep your head high Notts, and in the words of Williams, focus on performance.
  8. This is a story that brings two remarkable events to the forefront, both of which are sources of immense pride for us as supporters. The first is the debut goal of Tommy Lawton, a moment that will forever be etched in our memories. The second is the extraordinary feat of Roy Carroll, who played two games within the span of two days, a testament to his unwavering dedication and resilience.
  9. The level of concern amongst the fans was not particularly high, mirroring the situation when Ian Burchnall departed. It’s worth noting that some Notts fans have a propensity to react excessively in such situations, but in this case, it was unnecessary. Luke Williams is a man of great honour and humility. If he were to leave, I firmly believe he would prefer to be acknowledged before any information was leaked. I am confident that he holds a deep appreciation for us fans, the owners, and his colleagues, and would want to ensure a respectful departure.
  10. Really looking forward to seeing our class and determination on full display against Crewe. Williams' nod to Crewe's consistently strong performance just adds to the anticipation. Further, his commitment to making Notts County a force that can't be ignored shows the kind of resilience that forms the core of our beloved team.
  11. While it might take a while for Dan Gosling to find his footing, his inherent talent should be evident from the outset. The club’s decision to bring in a player of his calibre, particularly amidst the current injury crisis, demonstrates a commitment to maintaining the existing standards. This move sends a clear message that the club will not let its performance standards slip when preventable. Gosling is undoubtedly a valuable addition to our team. His presence should provide us with some versatility, as he is capable of performing tasks similar to those of Matt Palmer, albeit with a unique approach. Having a player with his experience, who can both distribute the ball effectively and retain possession when necessary, is always a boon. His arrival is a positive development for us, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will make.
  12. The addition of Dan Gosling into Notts is a significant milestone that sends a strong statement about the club’s intent to compete. Gosling, a seasoned Premier League veteran, brings in the necessary strength, experience, and acumen that could give a much-needed adrenaline rush to the team. As a fervent supporter, I am ecstatic and can't wait to see the magical difference he might make on and off the pitch. Onwards and upwards, Notts County!
  13. Luke Williams' candid approach and commitment to strengthening the defence are praiseworthy. The honesty about the team's ongoing journey of adapting to the competitive environment of League Two underscores the resilience of Notts County. Here's hoping for the team to overcome challenges and rise!
  14. This marks a historic event not only for Notts County, but also for the whole football fraternity. As a football enthusiast, I am thrilled for tomorrow’s showdown. Come on Notts!
  15. McGoldrick embodies the fighting spirit we fans truly appreciate. His dedication and loyalty to the team stirs up pride in all of us. The emotional connection he shares with the club resonates with us, it bleeds real passion into his actions both on and off the pitch. It's exactly what the club needs to bounce back. Looking forward to some big wins in the near future!
  16. Going into the match, I hope there has been a strong emphasis on defence but also on our play when teams make it hard to find room, it’s all about being more courageous in my view, creativity isn’t something that vanishes, it just needs practice. As others have mentioned, John Bostock is crucial, he’s the pillar that makes everything much smoother. Whoever is in the wingback positions, they need to ensure crosses and balls are going into the opposition’s penalty area. Macaulay Langstaff can’t do much if he isn’t provided with the service, he works hard and tries but we need to give him the chance to put the ball in the back of the net.
  17. It’s a great number of matches for any team, but being included in them is an honour. Notts are part of an exclusive group, as a founding member of the Football League we will always have this piece of history to show people that we are not a minor team. Let’s hope the 5,000th match brings a positive result so we can truly celebrate it.
  18. I’m not worried, it’s just football and I don’t believe the loss alters anything. We’re a strong team, we simply need to examine the goals we let in and strive harder to stop Swindon Town from creating opportunities. I’d be inclined to let Sam Slocombe step in, mainly to shield Aidan Stone but also to see if Slocombe can use his experience to navigate this match. Apart from that, we don’t need to alter anything.
  19. There's no denying that we let in more goals than we should have. However, this defeat does not define the team's potential. I believe Luke Williams's comments hold much truth, we did show a strong offensive game, and the team spirit was commendable. The struggle lies in our defensive strength. We allowed the opposition to score easy goals, which certainly tipped the scales. If we want to keep our winning momentum, bolstering our defence without losing sight of our attacking potential should be our primary goal.
  20. “Salvage” is indeed an apt term given that we were directly accountable for all the goals conceded. One could argue that their free kick, which resulted in a goal, was a brilliant strike, but the tackle leading up to it was simply reckless.
  21. The match was a disaster, we permitted far too much room in the centre of the field. Notts required a more compact formation at times, whilst avoiding unnecessary passes. I initially sympathised with Aidan Stone, but now I attribute his shortcomings to him. He’s directly responsible for at least 3 of the goals, regardless of how many he saves, it’s simply disheartening.
  22. It's clear that Luke Williams has done his homework on Colchester United's team structure and playstyle. His acknowledgment of Colchester's adaptability and tactical prowess only solidifies my belief in his capacity as a coach. It’s impressive how he's not letting his team's league standings cloud his judgement about the upcoming match’s difficulty level, instead focusing on honing his own team's strengths and developing strategies to counter the challenges posed by Colchester. Can't wait to see how Notts County rises to this challenge.
  23. There’s no harm in believing that Notts can clinch the league title or secure automatic promotion. As fans, we need to remain neutral and support the team throughout their matches. If we face any setbacks or hiccups, I have faith that Luke Williams can navigate them effectively. He’s crafting a formula for success and, more importantly, instilling belief in each player. Given our current performance, it’s hard to predict when our winning streak might end. With matches against Swindon Town and Mansfield on the horizon, performing well against Colchester United is crucial to keep up the pressure.
  24. David McGoldrick’s seasoned skills were on full display throughout the match, demonstrating his exceptional quality. A player of his calibre deserves recognition and respect. The primary objective is victory, but the ability to regroup after a setback, such as returning to a level score line, reveals the tenacity of our players. This resilience is a positive takeaway from the game for both sides, highlighting each team’s determination to fight for the result.
  25. This was a test of true resilience! Facing a strong comeback from Forest Greens, especially the spectacular hat-trick from Deeney that had us all on our nerves, and dealing with it with such tenacity was indeed commendable. Our stellar performances from Crowley, Langstaff, Bostock and McGoldrick made all the difference. Major credits to Luke Williams for his strategic switches at pivotal moments. I am looking for to the next game!
