  1. Did he spend much time at Notts? I believe I may have several ideas, but I would like to narrow it down.
  2. I am confident that there are members whose posts I have read, but they have ceased sharing; however, I am unable to remember anyone specifically at the moment. I sincerely hope more individuals return and actively participate.
  3. This is a massive statement of intent from Notts County. Jodi Jones is a top talent who can take us to the next level. He’s got a lot of pace and skill and he can unlock any defence with his passes and dribbles. He was sensational during his loan spell and I’m ecstatic that he’s staying with us for longer. His ability to create chances and score goals will be invaluable to the team as we push for promotion. The club has shown great ambition in securing his signature and I can’t wait to see him in action again.
  4. It’s not impossible to imagine Notts achieving back-to-back promotions. The question is, how will the club cope and manage life in League One? It’s a much tougher league and we would likely need to bring in many more reinforcements if we were to push for the Championship. League One could be where we start to sell players for higher fees than we paid for them. This would allow the club to spend money, but it comes at the cost of establishing a settled squad. I’m not sure if Notts can replicate Luton’s achievement. We have moved between divisions and I’m uncertain if I would prefer to see us build steadily like Brentford, Bournemouth, Watford and other clubs have done.
  5. I thought Aaron Nemane had a superb game against Chesterfield. The way he dinked the ball past their players and still managed to beat them was magical to see. I wish Adam Chicksen had played his more direct game, but something seems to be going on with him. Perhaps it’s a lack of confidence or just fatigue from the long season he’s played. Nonetheless, keeping Nemane must be a top priority for Notts. We need his pace out wide in League Two.
  6. Promotion is more important than performance, but Notts didn’t put in a terrible display. A lot of it can be attributed to nerves and not adjusting quickly enough to Chesterfield’s fast attacks. They pushed Notts and the defenders couldn’t find much space. Good teams in League Two will find ways to close us down, so it’s clear that we need to focus on this area. I thought Archie Mair’s saves were superb for a young keeper. He kept his cool and did remarkably well. Seeing the celebrations unfold on the pitch brought back happy memories of the 90s. It was great to see the players finally relax and laugh it off.
  7. Over the years, Notts County has been home to some truly great players, such as Phil Turner, Mark Stallard, and Ben Davies. Jim O’Brien is another player who deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as these legends. However, when it comes to pure talent and class on the field, I believe that Lee Hughes stands out as one of the best strikers Notts has ever had. He remains one of my all-time favorite players.
  8. What about Don Masson? Could it be him?
  9. Jim is a truly classy player. Despite his comments about being referred to as ‘experienced’, he remains one of the most motivational players Notts has. He deserves nothing but respect for his contributions to the team.
  10. I like Ryan Reynolds’ sentiment and to wish Notts County all the best. It would be a shame if we missed out on promotion. Preparing for the playoffs is crucial to settle the squad and give it their all. Let’s hope for the best!
  11. Wow, what a free kick from John Bostock! I was initially expecting Jim O'Brien to take it, but I'm glad Bostock found the back of the net. O'Brien was fantastic going forward, and his ability to win the ball back was invaluable. His presence in the first half was crucial. Unfortunately, Ruben Rodrigues didn't contribute much, although he did well to win the free kick. The fact that he lost a tooth is a testament to how rough Wrexham were at times. Defensively, Notts were lacking when it mattered most, but in such a high-stakes game, it's understandable. I don't blame anyone, I just wish we could have come out on top.
  12. Notts needed to step up their pass accuracy in the first half. I thought Jim O'Brien did well to win the ball back at times and dart forward. Ruben Rodrigues offered little defensively; when it mattered, Notts were clumsy. Good goal by John Bostock!
  13. "When two tribes go to war. A point is all that you can score (Score them all, score them all)" - this Frankie Goes to Hollywood quote perfectly encapsulates the high-stakes clash between Wrexham and Notts County. I know that this match is going to be an absolute must-win if we are to keep our title hopes alive. Wrexham is a strong opponent, and we're expecting a farce contest. It's going to be a classic game that both teams will look back on, regardless of the final result. We need to put our best foot forward and leave everything on the pitch. We're not just playing for the promotion, but also for the pride and glory of our beloved club. It's going to be a nerve-wracking experience, but we have full faith in our players to deliver the goods. Ultimately, a point may be all that we can score, but we'll be pushing for all three. Let's hope that this game lives up to its hype and gives us something to cheer about. Come on you Pies!
  14. 100% Sam Slocombe is needed, with all due respect to Mair, Notts needs to stick with the experience if he's able to play without issues.
  15. I thought the entire squad played well, given what they were up against. You can only beat the team in front of you, and Notts did it in style. I think Jim silenced his critics with his performance, even though Scunthorpe were poor, he showed his class and helped drive Notts forward. 4-0 flattered Scunthorpe United, as Notts could have easily scored several more goals. Their keeper, who they brought in on loan a few hours before the game, was very weak. His kicking was hilarious!
  16. Considering the coldness and television presence, both teams made it a good game. Dagenham caused a lot of issues early on, but defensively they did not cope as much with Notts. I think we lead the game quite luckily, as we did not seem clinical enough on goal. Their equaliser, I feel was well deserved and it was superbly taken. In the second half, Notts upped the ante and got their rewards when the winner went in.
  17. Ardley might send them out looking to sneak a win, but other than being hard to break down I don't think they will throw the kitchen sink at us. Notts needs to play to the time we have and just do neat passes. We'll draw them out and create chances, they just need tucking away. I have a feeling Solihull could get hammered.
  18. Looking stronger, Cal! It will be good to have him back in the side and starting regularly.
  19. It's got a whole lot scarier since I've first posted in this, now I know people effected and lost due to it.
  20. Confidence is growing throughout the squad, Dennis, Wootton, Roberts and Enzio looked to play forward when they could and they're lively. Great team performance.
  21. Start Tom Crawford and Jim O'Brien, rest Enzio and Roberts. Bring in Shields and Osbourne. Dennis and Thomas upfront. Load the bench with quality.
  22. Fantastic win, but can't help but feel we played into their hands in the first half by being too defensive
  23. Just to know the squad played well would be good in my eyes, we need the focus to be on the league. Eyes on the prize!
  24. It's not something I worry about or prepared to let control my life. Just he safe, wary and hygienic.
