  1. That was ugly to say the least. Still it's 3 points in the bag. That performance won't be enough against Fleetwood.
  2. If JJ and Ditzy are out for an extended period of time, we won't be in the running for promotion. The players need to step up but that's not happening. SM seems to be afflicted by self doubt and second guessing himself. We were fortunate to get a point last night. We are fortunate that the next game is against a Tranmere side that is struggling. That is a must win game. We need something to hang onto to.
  3. Colchester won't sit back I reckon. That will suit us just fine. We need to take our chances. A 1-0 lead going into the final 10 minutes could well end up 1-1. Jody and Ditzy are key but I reckon Mai will be the difference tonight.
  4. Port Vale had a plan. You could see that the pitch was watered in areas to slow down Notts and disrupt the quick passing that works so well. We missed Jodi and David. They offer that extra bit of quality that is the difference between a narrow win and a narrow defeat. Port Vale outcoached us in the 2nd half. They adjusted at half time and we were too slow to react. The 2 games against them have been incredibly close but that extra bit of coaching quality has won them both games. Darren Moore is a better coach than SM. That's not a criticism of SM, he's doing a decent job, it just that Moore has that extra bit of experience.
  5. Port Vale away on a Thursday night. I think that is a first. Port Vale away is one of the tougher games. A point would be a decent result but Notts are in top form so you'd be hoping for a cheeky 3 points.
  6. Morecambe is supposed to be a nice place to visit. Not in February though and the game is at ML. Anyway.......this should be a home win and a comfortable one at that but Morecambe will make it difficult I think. 2-0 is my guess.
  7. Gillingham away in January seems like a waste. Gillingham is a game that should be played in August or September. Anyway this is going to be a tough game. I'd be happy with a draw.
  8. Not the best performance but 3 points in the bag. We are in a good place right now. We need to hold onto AJ.
  9. Let's be honest, if you don't beat Carlisle at home, you don't deserve to be promoted. Shots fired 3-1 to Notts.
  10. That game at Bromley in September was incredible. 2 down after 6 minutes and Notts end up winning 4-2. Bromley are doing well in their first season in League 2. A mid table finish is likely. You'd expect a home win and I think it will be a home win.
  11. Notts were excellent. Accrington were awful but a lot of that was down to Notts not allowing them to settle. Accrington are relegation candidates and are one of those clubs that if they do get relegated, they won't be back for a while.
  12. Accrington Stanley had a grand day out at Liverpool last week. I thought they played quite well. They certainly weren't overawed. They are unbeaten in their last 2 in the league. They are now 5 points clear of the relegation zone. It's been an interesting week at Notts. Time to park that now and get on with the push for promotion. This won't be an easy game but I think Notts will secure all 3 points and we can collectively say Dan who?
  13. League One is a difficult league to compete in. There are big teams with big budgets but it is possible to be competitive and not break the bank. I think Notts would only need 3 or 4 additions to be a mid table side. I think the brothers have bigger ambitions so it would be a fun ride!
  14. I think he got a league winners medal despite being recalled in August. He deserved one after being a big part of their success. He'll score goals in League Two.
  15. All the best to Cedwyn and thank you. Thank you for helping us out of the pit of despair and back to where we belong. That image of the ball hitting the net will stay with me forever. I'm smiling now.......
  16. A 90 minute performance and 3 points. Happy with that.
  17. Swindon are unbeaten in their last 4. They drew away at Wimbledon and Bromley. They have beaten Grimsby and Colchester. That's fairly impressive given the mess they were in before Ian Holloway came in. We should be beating Swindon at home. We need to stay within touching distance of 2nd place.
  18. I think Walsall won the league today. We should have buried them by half time. We didn't and you kind of knew what was going to happen in the 2nd half.
  19. Walsall are the most consistent side in the division. Their results speak for themselves. They don't get the respect they deserve and they are fine with that I think. They keep doing their thing. It has the makings of a classic. The 2 best sides in the division. Home advantage could swing it in our favour. A point would be acceptable.
  20. That was a proper game of festive football. Now we turn our attention to Walsall. Can't wait.....
  21. Great win. Not just the 3 points but a fantastic performance as well.
  22. This came around quickly. I think Christmas speeds up the older you get. Anyway this is one of the toughest away fixtures in the division. The Fake Dons are a blight on football and I hope we crush them. Not very Christmas like but I know Jesus understands ????
  23. A badly needed 3 points. The next 2 are away before we face Walsall at home so we needed a win to take momentum into the Fake Dons game. 3 points is a nice Christmas present as well.
  24. There isn't a better time to play us and now is about as good a time to play Bradford. Notts are bound to improve. I mean it can't get much worse. I think we'll bounce back tomorrow.
  25. Where to start? There's no point in sacking SM. The owners want to play a certain way and that won't change under a new manager. The style of play favoured by the owners is not suitable in League Two unless you bring in players of a League One standard. That won't happen. We were shocking today. Rubbish. Hopefully the improvement starts now.
