  1. I still can't get my head around last night. Once I can let that go, I'll comment on Aldershot at home................
  2. A point away from home is a good result but it was more by luck than by design. Pilling was MOM. Give him 2 actually. He was that good. Notts didn't try to win the game but that's NA way. Looking at the online comments, the majority of fans are happy with NA it seems. I'll say it now, I don't see Notts getting promoted with NA in charge. His limited style will be found out at the business end, just like against Harrogate last season. Prove me wrong Neil!
  3. You'd expect a response. The players owe NA a decent performance after Saturday's effort. Stockport away is a tough fixture at the best of times. In some ways it's better to be playing a decent side because there will be no room for complacency. I expect a focused Notts tonight. My gut feeling is that it will be a draw. 1-1 for me.
  4. Wrexham away is in the top 5 most difficult fixtures in this league. It will be a real test for Notts. Wrexham are on a 5 game unbeaten run. Normally you'd be happy with a point at Wrexham and I'd take that to keep the momentum going. The title is still up for grabs so avoiding defeat would be huge. Having said that, I think Notts will win 2-1 and what a statement that will be.
  5. My sources tell me the pitch is covered so the game should go ahead. Here's hoping! We drew at their place. A 0-0 draw. Dagenham are 17th but only 7 points behind Notts who are in 6th. Notts have played 2 less games but it shows how tight the table is at the moment. Dagenham have pulled off some decent results. They beat Torquay away with 10 players. They went to Wrexham at the weekend and came away with a 2-2 draw. They can't be underestimated but Notts are the better side. 2-0 to Notts I reckon.
  6. Bromley are undefeated in their last 2 games. They are a decent side, they will probably finish in the top 10 and could finish in the playoff places. Their danger man is Michael Cheek. 11 goals in 17 games. Bromley are a dangerous opponent. They are capable of scoring goals out of nothing. It will be a real test of our defence, who are playing well as a unit. I think Notts will win. 2-1 is my prediction.
  7. Weymouth have won their last 2 games against Hartlepool and Aldershot. Both Hartlepool and Aldershot had a man sent off so that helped. Weymouth have won 4 games out 18. Just the kind of team Notts struggle against. See Dover (I still shudder at the thought of that defeat). I expect Notts to win this one but it won't easy. I think we'll need to be patient. 2-0 to Notts is my guess.
  8. We needed the 3 points badly. We got the 3 points. NA will argue that it is job done and of course he is right but.............. We have the best squad in the division. There is no way on this earth that we should be 13 points behind Torquay, I know we have games in hand, but we should be a hell of a lot closer with the players at our disposal. Some of the defeats we have suffered are real head shakers because we all know if the team was let loose we would have won those games. I have nothing against NA. I just find him too cautious. He gives other teams too much respect. We are the biggest club in this league by a mile, it's time we started letting other teams know that and play in a manner befitting a club of our stature. That's not arrogance. That's reality. I needed to get that out. I feel better now........
  9. Vital win. Performance wasn't great but the win papers over that.
  10. Hopefully Notts can nick it. Solihull are playing well. No fear.
  11. Solihull are a tough nut to crack. They are a point above us with a game in hand. Looking at the table, we can't really afford to lose this game. We are in a real battle just to make the playoffs which to be fair is disappointing given the squad we have.
  12. Hello? Is this on? Sorry, a weak attempt at humour...... Must win game for us. Can't afford to lose anymore ground in the title race. Torquay are a decent side but Notts should be beating them at home. 2-1 to Notts I reckon.
  13. Teams should fear coming to Meadow Lane. They don't because they have a fair idea of how Notts will play. We give up the initiative and good teams take advantage.
  14. Gone exactly as I thought it would. Notts off the pace, Hartlepool playing with confidence. I'd expect Notts to pick up in the 2nd half. I think we'll pick up at least a point.
  15. I'm a little apprehensive about this one. The monkey hangers are on form. They hammered Stockport 4-0 and beat Halifax 3-1. Notts will be coming in cold. It's a game Notts should be winning but.....
  16. King's Lynn are bottom feeders in this division. They will do well to stay up. They have conceded 30 goals in 13 games and only scored 17. They haven't won in their last 3 league games. I'd be very disappointed if we lost this game. 3-0 to Notts is my guess.
  17. Even at this stage, automatic promotion looks unlikely. Just got to concentrate on sealing a playoff place now.
  18. On the surface, you would think this would be a straight forward game for Notts. Drill down and you'll find reasons as to why it might be tougher than expected. Boreham Wood have only conceded 8 goals in 10 games. They went to Torquay and picked up a draw. It might take a while to break them down but I think Notts will. 1-0 home win I reckon.
  19. Torquay are the target. 8 points is a lot but Notts need to keep the pressure on. Avoiding the playoff lottery is vital.
  20. Notts are gaining momentum. They only thing they didn't do was score at Dagenham. Eventually there will be a landslide victory and this is it I reckon. 5-0 to the Pies.
  21. 2 points dropped given Notts were the better side. Keeps the run going so won't complain.
  22. Anything less than 3 points would be disappointing. If we are serious about automatic promotion then these are the games we have to be winning.
  23. Well, well, well. NA gets out of jail! Great fight back in fairness. Vital 3 points. Celtic will probably sack Neil Lennon. He might have come to Notts. It's about the same standard ????
  24. 2-1 to Chesterfield now. Who do you think the new manager will be? No way NA will remain in charge after this surely
  25. 1-1 now. Hard to say which way it will go.
