Matchday Traditions: What Works for You?
I usually go to the Navi or the Embankment pub for a drink before the match. I only have one unless I’m meeting up with others. I try to get into the ground before the queues start building up. I’ve had a look around The Nest, but it’s not really for me. I’d only go there if I was meeting people, but I do like that we have a place where fans can gather in large numbers and the profits go directly to the club. I’m not keen on how the MLSB has changed in recent years. It doesn’t feel like a place to have a drink anymore, more like somewhere to mess around before a game. A good atmosphere can make matches more enjoyable, and I like the bigger games, like Grimsby and Chesterfield.

Pavis, KOP or Family Stand: Where do you sit when attending games?
I have sat in both the KOP and the Derek Pavis stands in recent years. Last season, I was in the Pavis, but this time, I’ve moved back to the KOP. I enjoy watching a match from the front, side-on view, but for this campaign, I want to be where the atmosphere is. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we’ll be celebrating promotion.

Where are they now : Will Patching
I hope the lad is doing well. A season in the National League with Carlisle United could really help his career. Will Patching could play a big role in their push to return to the Football League. If they struggle at the first attempt, he might attract interest and move on. A good spell at a club that needs a player of his potential would bring out the best in him.

Where are they now : Jon Stead
The last I knew about Jon Stead, he was running his own coaching school and had been appointed as a coach. I can’t remember which team, but this sounds like a big move for him. He always looks so serious, though. He should relax a bit more!

Weather Updates
If it gets any hotter or more humid, I’m scrapping my holiday plans and settling in for two solid weeks of cold beers in the back garden. If I fancy cooling off, I’ll stick a paddling pool out. Let there be some wind!

New training ground
Let them train on The Embankment, it’ll help prepare them for the rough pitches we’ll face in League Two. When we trained at the National setup in Burton, it felt like a waste of time, especially with players like Dean Leacock complaining about the pitch. At least Meadow Lane is like a gorgeous rug, and the new training facility agreement sounds like a great move. Working with the Uni is a smart decision.

Display Name: Updates
Changing to SleepingGiant could have lasted you 2-4 years, so it might have been worth considering. You seem safe with KingofCounty, unless your name's Russell. You might want to rethink that, lad!

Friendly International: England 1 Senegal 3
It’s easy to point the finger at the manager, just as much as it is at the players. But when one or two have an off day, it makes things harder for the rest of the team. It was unlucky that Senegal were the complete opposite. I thought they played very well. It’s hard to feel bitter about losing to such an organised team, one that clearly played to win when England just couldn’t find their rhythm.

Kaiserslautern v Notts
A mini German pre-season tour seems to be happening. I wonder if any more matches will be arranged whilst Notts are over there. It could be a great summer for fans, not just for European culture and sightseeing but also for watching Notts in action.

I haven't written one in a while. I scrapped my last blog because the mood in the Notts camp felt so low. I thought it would do more harm than good. Now, with the first signing and a head coach yet to be named, it's got me thinking again.

Tobias Solberg : Odds-checker 1/2 to become Notts Head Coach
If someone has to edit a picture to make a rumour seem more believable, I am more likely to think I will be the first Notts fan on Mars. I wouldn't worry, just wait for the official news.

Crystal Palace Could be kicked out of the Europa League
It's frustrating when things get to this point and cause problems. For the sake of fairness, something should be looked at that doesn’t punish Palace fans. In the past, they tried to force owners to choose who they wanted to sell to, but that never worked. The only real option I can see is imposing penalties on both connected clubs if anything suspicious happens during matches.

pon and the new site
I like how the site feels more like an app on mobile. It's much easier to use, rather than feeling awkward. The old version was always impressive, but this takes it to another level. I might start using my phone more when I have free time while I'm out and about, as I usually post from my computer.

It's great to see this latest announcement. The site looks good, and I have always thought PON was an excellent place. Thanks to everyone who has helped improve it.

Who is your Man of the Match v Wimbledon?
George Abbott stood out for me. Defensively, he was superb in handling Wimbledon and showed his class in a tense match.

Jatta's Red Card
God forbid the challenge had made contact, as it could have caused a serious injury. The timing was completely off, and the decision to lunge seemed to have been made before any thought was given to whether it was safe or whether Jatta had control over the impact his challenge might have had. Wimbledon clattered into some of our players, but this was the worst challenge. Fortunately, the Wimbledon player had enough time to leap over it. It could have been much worse, but it was reckless and awful.

Jatta's Red Card
I thought it was a straight red at the time. From my seat, it looked very dangerous, and I thought there might have been contact. That was just my view in the moment, but the referee was in a much better position to see that this wasn’t the case. Watching the highlights, it looked like a dive. I can understand why the official might have believed the Wimbledon player was hurt, but he moved away from the incident quite quickly. This allowed him to be surrounded without checking on the player. There were shades of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in the way the Wimbledon player went about it. I noticed that the moment the red card was shown, he stopped rolling around, sat up straight away without any physio, and looked rather pleased that he’d got away with it.

Who is your Man of the Match v MK Dons?
I think before half-time and even going into the second half, the Man of the Match could have been anyone, as it was a solid team effort. I was very pleased with the defence. They did their jobs well and made MK Dons look quite poor. I didn’t notice anyone in their team who could strengthen ours, but I imagine they see a lot of quality in our squad. Hopefully, they stay clear of our players from now on. My vote went to Will Jarvis. He looks like a fantastic player and seems very settled now.

Match Discussion: Game 38 - The Railwaymen (H)
The first half for Notts wasn't too bad, though some clearer chances could have been made. The long wait for a shot on target made me wonder if it might be one of those games. The second half was decent, with a bit more intent and some exciting moments. Notts became much livelier around the 70th minute. Stuart Maynard's substitutions seemed a bit unusual. For me, Charlie Whitaker should have stayed on. Mai Traore feels like playing with ten men. He's struggling with EFL football, and it's even harder when he comes on as a sub. He had one or two exciting runs, but I don't think he was what Notts needed at that moment. Nick Tsaroulla showed why he should have started, as he was the only change that made a real difference. Kellan Gordon didn't do much. Most of his crosses were blocked, and he tended to avoid situations where a tackle might occur. Overall, it was a very standard performance from Notts, without the momentum to score from open play.

Supporter Patience and Rebuilding
I don't think Notts would need a major overhaul after promotion. The hardest challenge will be managing realistic expectations and dealing with the pessimists. The club can't win with some fans. If they're near the top, people will expect them to stay there. A mid-table position will lead to claims that they're not good enough for promotion, along with fears of relegation. If Notts struggle, some supporters will react dramatically. I'd rather see the team earn promotion by being ready and deserving it. If we go up this season, it will be because of that. However, our current form makes me think we might struggle, especially as automatic promotion seems unlikely now. Play-offs are a big gamble. Still, if most of the squad is kept and improved with extra quality, we'll be in a strong position next season to push for League One.

Who is your Man of the Match v Crewe?
I would choose Will Jarvis, but I was tempted to vote for David McGoldrick, who was excellent at finding positions and transitioning to take shots. Jarvis appeared more committed to playing as part of the team. @menzinho Jacob Bedeau, I can't imagine anyone voting for him. I thought yesterday was his poorest performance for Notts. He made too many mistakes and fouls, not great, but slightly better than average overall.

George Foreman RIP.
George Foreman’s impact on boxing and beyond is legendary. His early career was defined by sheer power, knocking out opponents left and right, but what stands out most is his reinvention. Many boxers fade into obscurity, but Foreman came back stronger, not just in the ring but in life. His second reign as champion was historic, proving that age is just a number. And then there’s his grill, who would have thought a boxer could dominate the kitchen too? He embraced life beyond boxing, which is something so many fighters struggle with. His kindness, faith, and wisdom made him more than just an athlete. Boxing has lost a true great, but his legacy will live on forever. Rest in Peace, George!

Safe Standing at Notts for the 25/26 Season.
This is news to me, but I moved from the KOP to the Pavis Stand a few seasons ago. While I do miss it, I don’t think the KOP has been the same or as good as it could be. I hope the introduction of safe standing brings a lot more energy to the atmosphere.

Junior Morias.
I hope Junior Morias gets a chance this time. He has a lot of pace and brings qualities that Notts are missing at the moment. He could fit into the squad in so many ways. His natural finishing ability would be a huge benefit if Notts could create chances that aren't just tap-ins or attempts to walk the ball into the net. Few players seem confident in taking shots from distance. I feel he deserves an opportunity, as he is one of the players who has been treated unfairly.
