  1. Hello, @BigTom91. It may take you time to settle in but we're a friendly group of fans, all keen on discussing Notts openly and friendly. I welcome you to the site.
  2. This is a great read, with all good comments from the four fans who took part. I like Evan’s take on things; he’s right to point out David McGoldrick, and I hope all four of them enjoy the season. We are in for a ride, for sure!
  3. @Fan of Big Tone You have a pond? What type of fish do you keep in it? At least your fish aren’t ending up like the ones at Highfields. I spent the last two days relaxing and not doing much. I played a bit on my PlayStation, read a few magazines, relaxed for longer, and watched some TV. It wasn’t the most action-packed weekend, but it was nice.
  4. I would split the two teams into the strongest we can make both sides, or maybe even consider making one team focus on attacking and the other on defence, but with an attacking mindset and some fringe players. This could give us some insight into how we will defend under pressure. It should be a nice day for us all.
  5. Good luck to him. Sometimes players reach their potential later in life, and a good keeper can easily play until his late 30s. If he does well with Burnley, it will be pleasing to see how far he’s come in the game.
  6. Luke Williams is a good leader, detailed and thoughtful. He clearly knew that giving Aaron Nemane time would increase the chances of him agreeing to a new deal. Losing Ruben Rodrigues is a loss, but at his age, it always seemed likely. Having a manager who wishes departing players well while focusing on the right things is a joy. His openness instills faith and belief, and it’s all very positive.
  7. No, I can’t see the club selling Tiernan Brooks. They have worked hard on his training, and he just needs game time. Surely if anything, it would be a loan? I would prefer him to join a National League North/South team. Plenty of teams in those leagues should be willing to give Brooks a chance.
  8. It’s a good move for Frank Vincent. They should play him more, which should see him establish himself in their starting 11. There was a spell where Vincent looked really classy, but unfortunately we didn’t see it enough. Even then, he was still a very good player.
  9. I don’t use Twitter enough for it to be an issue, but I hope those who have joined PON due to the issues Elon Musk is incorporating there will stick with it. It’s great to see people joining in, but the key is keeping them engaged.
  10. Aaron Nemane is a livewire for Notts, capable of keeping pressure on the opposition and getting Notts on the front foot. He’s a very good player, and we understand his importance. Retaining him feels like a coup, considering other higher-placed clubs were reportedly interested.
  11. He was known as a powerful and tidy finisher, using his natural ability to give him an edge when playing. I remember when the news of his death hit, and although he was before my time, I felt saddened. The tributes paid by all his former clubs show how highly he was thought of. Despite some personal problems, we should remember him as the great player he was. It’s a shame that he suffered in his later years, and I can’t imagine what it must be like to suffer from dementia.
  12. Count me in, @TheSkipper. I will support this, and I think you will bring some good insights to the blog. I know the gaffer spoke about continuing his, and I think it would be great. I have followed your blog and should follow some of the others, like Piethagoram.
  13. Welcome to PON, @JackMagpie95. Just another friendly hello from another regular member here.
  14. Finally! I am pleased that we have managed to keep Aaron Nemane. He is an important part of Luke Williams’ plans and tactics. While I believe we could survive without him and still be just as good, his performances and ability will make us that much better.
  15. Billy Daniels and Damien McCrory.
  16. The back resembles a Derby shirt. I hope the front has more and thicker stripes than we’ve seen in recent years. I don’t mind a plain white back, but I wish we had a more traditional shirt.
  17. It’s certainly shoddy stuff. The club’s acceptance of it every season doesn’t say much. I’m happy to wait, but I hope the club has ordered enough of them because they tend to sell out quickly. I hope the Reedtz eventually try to ensure that the kits are released earlier, as we shouldn’t experience so many delays in our kit launch ahead of every campaign.
  18. It's great to see the new signings in action as we head into the friendly games. The squad's morale is still high following our promotion, and this is reflected in the season ticket sales. I'm feeling very encouraged by how things are going and I believe we'll be able to compete well against all the teams in League Two. The depth we have in positions is a bonus, and there's still time for one or two new faces to arrive. All in all, it's a promising start.
  19. I can’t explain it, but even when I close my eyes, I hear what I’m thinking about. If I don’t think of anything, then I hear a weird noise that sounds nothing like anything else. It’s strange how the mind works!
  20. I don’t care about celebrities; they mean nothing to me. I’m only bothered about people who are genuinely nice. I haven’t got time for those who seek attention or set up being snapped by paparazzi just to get a few headlines.
  21. Luke Williams has nothing to worry about; I’m not that bothered. It would just be nice to understand what’s going on with Aaron Nemane. This is a very good, formal interview that gives fans a lot to think about.
  22. He’s a fantastic midfielder; very rarely does he lose the ball, and I would agree that he’s the best midfielder the club has had for years. He’s like Neal Bishop but with a lot more about himself. Bishop was a good worker, but his abilities were limited; Palmer is more all-round as a player.
  23. These are great numbers; I think the club should be delighted. It’s likely that they would be high after promotion, and keeping fans engaged is important. I hope we can break the 5.5k mark at least. If we can get to 6k, that would be amazing.
  24. This is brilliant; it’s nice to see PON being picked up by Google News. I’ve never seen PON make the cut, so it does seem special. Has anyone else seen PON appear in their news feed?
  25. @KB1862 It’s a difficult decision at the time because you don’t see the value or appeal of the shirts in the future. You just see that they don’t fit, but then you could have hung onto them or passed them down. It’s a shame!
