  1. Hello, welcome to PON. It's good to have you with us @JustLikeJuve. ????????
  2. It’s good to have people like Tobi around. He seems to have recovered from his injuries, and from what I’ve seen of him during the pre-season, my confidence in his ability has increased. He appears to be a great guy who will boost morale in the dressing room. Luke Williams’ comment about charging him on the coach for away games is amusing, as is the campaign to have him do every post-match interview. The media team might consider giving Tobi a camera to capture a behind-the-scenes look at the club.
  3. I did a bit of general cleaning and watched TV, as there wasn’t much on my mind in terms of what to do. Mrs Doubtfire was on, which is a classic film that I enjoy watching and did so again.
  4. @Chris Is it Brad McGowan? He played for Alfreton Town.
  5. After seeing the goal, Notts moved the ball well and Cedwyn Scott’s finish was very tidy. In time, we will have players splitting the opposition’s defence. I have full faith that David McGoldrick and Dan Crowley will be able to do this, but we must be mindful that this is still a workout focused on experimenting and trying new things. It was a good performance in terms of possession and retaining the ball, as this builds confidence.
  6. I remember when public toilets were free and didn’t cost anything to use. I think charging 40p is daylight robbery. It’s almost like a convenience tax.
  7. It’s just crazy that this can happen, not only because it could have been a terrorist attack, but also due to the risks involved for people.
  8. I haven’t watched it and I most likely won’t. I don’t find it particularly interesting. I don’t watch much football outside of Notts, so it’s not entirely due to the standard of the women’s game, but more because of time constraints and other priorities. I hope England does well, but I doubt I’ll watch many games.
  9. They appear happy, and I have a feeling that one of them may have requested the change. I am not certain why; perhaps John Bostock previously had the number? It could also be that the club requested the switch. Regardless, it is not a major issue.
  10. It seems that he has a good level of experience and brings a fresh mindset, picking up where Jason Turner sadly left off before his passing. I hope that Joe Palmer takes the time to connect with the fans and get to know the community, as this would benefit him in settling into the club. With the appointment of a CEO, the club is now fully prepared for the League Two season.
  11. It’s going to be a good test to see Notts playing Boston United. I hope that Luke Williams continues to give some of the youngsters game time. It’s always exciting to see new talent on the pitch. I’m also hoping that Sam Slocombe is close to making a return. Fitness is key in these pre-season games, and it will be a good run out for the team. Fingers crossed for a great match!
  12. Colby Bishop and Tiernan Brooks, I thought I had posted to this earlier.
  13. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @NewarkMagpie. I am pleased to meet you.
  14. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Nay123. I am pleased to meet you.
  15. I appreciate that the club and Luke Williams are addressing this issue head-on, as it instils confidence in their abilities. Some managers prefer to avoid discussing ongoing concerns to prevent panic or negative feedback, but I believe this only generates more concern. For example, with Junior Morias, when we don’t know what’s happening, it’s easy to forget about him and assume he’s been forgotten. However, it may just be a minor issue preventing him from starting pre-season. Addressing issues directly is wise, although the longer Morias struggles, the more I question his acquisition. Nonetheless, I have faith that he will eventually come good.
  16. I appreciate the way Kyle expresses his opinions. He is a leader on the pitch and has provided us with many great memories during his time here. I believe we will perform even better in League Two. With the recruitment and morale in the squad, we should undoubtedly be fighting for promotion once again.
  17. After learning that Charlie Slater is leaving, it’s clear that he has been a significant part of the community over the past few years. Watching videos of his commentary truly tugs at the heartstrings, much like seeing Colin Slater’s last ever commentary.
  18. The home friendlies have shown us how we need to prepare defensively. Those were very good exercises for that, and I think Telford played quite well, although we definitely looked a lot better. The squad is progressing well, and these games aren’t about winning. Although winning does breed confidence, it makes a massive difference to their fitness and the structure of the formation we play.
  19. Joss Labadie appeared to be a talented player, but his career was hindered by his own poor decisions. At the National League level, he has the potential to be one of the better midfielders, provided he focuses on football and works hard. At only 32 years of age, he still has a few good years left in him.
  20. Hello there, @BeestonPie. Welcome to PON, it's good to have you here.
  21. I’m not bothered, personally I could still make it. It might not be the case for some fans, and I sympathise with that, but from my perspective, it makes no difference. It’s even better because it frees up Saturday!
  22. Interesting choice of games out of all the 23 teams. I think some of the local games, such as Mansfield, Doncaster, and Walsall, are ones that I am personally looking forward to. Having gone to Wembley with @liampie, I am very keen to make sure we meet up or travel to those types of games. I am interested in Stockport County because I want to see how Kyle Wootton does.
  23. Yes, @ARLukomski mentioned him, and I agree. I think he looked good for the time he had on the pitch. He played a calming and careful game, which was positive.
  24. Well, I think that Charlie Slater has made a clear decision, and I have enjoyed his time. It took some getting used to, I admit, but his friendship and connection with Mark Stallard is special. What are the chances of the BBC hiring Dean Yates so we can have him do the commentary and Mark Stallard assist? Unlikely, I know. Who’s taking over?
