  1. Great to see he's back on form and having a good season. However, for me it's tinged with a little sadness that he's playing at that level - he looked an unbelievable player at times in the NL and I'd have loved to see how he'd get on in League Two or higher.
  2. Crawley Town 0-1 Bristol Rovers Wrexham 2-1 Stockport County (joker) Bradford City 1-1 Colchester United Carlisle United 1-1 Bromley Chesterfield 2-0 Harrogate Town Oldham Athletic 1-0 Halifax Town Solihull Moors 2-1 Yeovil Town Wealdstone 0-1 Woking
  3. Get your predictions in by 3pm on Saturday for a chance of finishing second behind me! And remember your joker. Good luck! Crawley Town v Bristol Rovers Wrexham v Stockport County Bradford City v Colchester United Carlisle United v Bromley Chesterfield v Harrogate Town Oldham Athletic v Halifax Town Solihull Moors v Yeovil Town Wealdstone v Woking
  4. The results: Coventry City 3-0 Sunderland Plymouth Argyle 2-3 Derby County Blackpool 1-2 Leyton Orient Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 1-1 Gillingham Newport County 3-0 Harrogate Town Sutton United 0-3 Halifax Town Wealdstone 3-3 Eastleigh --- Congrats to this round's winner @Fan of Big Tone! --- There's little change overall - @ARLukomski leads @super_ram by 16 points going into the last eight rounds. --- Next Saturday the proper football will continue, so there will be a prediction league round as usual from about Wednesday onwards. Thanks for playing and have a good week!
  5. Hope the sheep don't let me down. Coventry City 2-1 Sunderland Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Derby County Blackpool 2-0 Leyton Orient (joker) Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 2-1 Gillingham Newport County 1-0 Harrogate Town Sutton United 0-1 Halifax Town Wealdstone 0-2 Eastleigh
  6. Here are the latest fixtures - submit your predictions by 3pm on Saturday if you fancy playing, and remember your joker! Coventry City v Sunderland Plymouth Argyle v Derby County Blackpool v Leyton Orient Wycombe Wanderers v Wrexham Accrington Stanley v Gillingham Newport County v Harrogate Town Sutton United v Halifax Town Wealdstone v Eastleigh
  7. The first half might not have been great, but I thought we put in a very assured performance in the second half. I was also pleased to see us continue to be proactive and dictate the game after scoring, rather than sitting back and handing the initiative to the opposition. McGoldrick's goal was beautiful, although I initially thought he should have played Jatta in! A good away win against a team that could have overtaken us if we'd lost - we're now five points clear of them. Big points, as the Germans would say. Now let's get back in the top three this weekend.
  8. He's not a happy chappy is he? Credit to him for telling it how he sees it. Nonetheless, it's a bad sign when the assistant manager gets wheeled out to do interviews. 15 matches without a win is shocking, but I think the points gathered early in the season will help get them over the line. They're still eight points clear.
  9. Saturday's results: Swansea City 1-0 Middlesbrough West Brom 1-0 QPR Stevenage 1-1 Mansfield Town Wigan Athletic 1-0 Cambridge United Barrow 2-0 Accrington Stanley Salford City 1-1 Crewe Alexandra AFC Fylde 0-2 Braintree Town Southend United 2-1 Altrincham --- Congrats to @Robbie, who wins this round! All the top three made it into double figures... --- @ARLukomski and @super_ram march on at the top of the table - with ten rounds to go, they have both already surpassed @ARLukomski's winning total of 219 from last season! --- Check by again tomorrow for Saturday's fixtures. Until then, as always, thanks for playing!
  10. Tuesday's results: Hull City 2-0 Plymouth Argyle Preston North End 0-0 Swansea City Charlton Athletic 1-0 Barnsley Mansfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic Colchester United 1-0 Chesterfield Newport County 3-1 Gillingham Aldershot Town 0-0 Dagenham & Redbridge Solihull Moors 1-1 Sutton United --- Congrats to this round's winners @Robbie and @william1984! --- This is our table overall. @ARLukomski has built up a healthy lead, while I've graciously allowed @Robbie to spend a few days in the top three... --- Saturday's round is also done and dusted and I'll post the points for that in the next day or two. Our next round will be this coming Saturday, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Have a good week
  11. Yeah, that was poor. Wimbledon were better in every department in the first half and deserved their lead. We improved in the second, but still struggled to create chances. With Wimbledon having kept 18 clean sheets, it's not surprising that ahcnes were at a premium, but the two preventable goals in the first half killed us. Jatte and Palmer missed chances to make a game of it later on. Palmer is a key player for us and has many good qualities, but taking corners and free kicks is not one of them. Either we go back to Williamsball and just keep the ball on the ground, or we find someone who can cross the ball. Even if that means sitting Jodi Jones in a chair in the centre circle and letting him get up for the set pieces. This is the time of the season that promotion-winning teams really click into gear and we're a long way from our best form. I think there have been too many changes on and off the pitch and too many injuries, and the chickens are coming home to roost a bit now. However, we're still fifth and well in the mix, even if I don't really fancy us right now.
  12. We have a number of things going on behind the scenes, but from the outside it's questionable whether or to what extent they are affecting happenings on the pitch. I doubt the lack of a DoF has affected things too much. His job now would be to scout players to bring in in the summer; now we've got the squad for the rest of the season, it's up to the coaching team to work with it. I can't help wondering whether the Saunders brothers leaving has had a negative effect. However, we do have a habit of bringing in players with a lengthy injury record, and we were over-reliant on one of them for assists last season. He's now been injured for months, and our top scorer from last season has left. If you couple that with the off-the-pitch departures, we're doing well to still be in the running for the top three. Whatever the truth of it is, we certainly need new faces on and off the pitch in the summer.
  13. Swansea City 1-2 Middlesbrough West Brom 2-0 QPR Stevenage 1-1 Mansfield Town Wigan Athletic 2-0 Cambridge United (joker) Barrow 1-0 Accrington Stanley Salford City 1-2 Crewe Alexandra AFC Fylde 1-1 Braintree Town Southend United 0-1 Altrincham
  14. As 8 March is International Women's Day, I will generously allow all women to take part in this weekend's prediction league for free (but not necessarily to win it). All the matches kick off at 3pm on Saturday, and remember your joker! Swansea City v Middlesbrough West Brom v QPR Stevenage v Mansfield Town Wigan Athletic v Cambridge United Barrow v Accrington Stanley Salford City v Crewe Alexandra AFC Fylde v Braintree Town Southend United v Altrincham
  15. Saturday's results: Luton Town 1-0 Portsmouth Stoke City 0-0 Watford Crawley Town 0-2 Cambridge United Peterborough United 3-1 Shrewsbury Town Cheltenham Town 1-1 Grimsby Town Harrogate Town 2-1 Accrington Stanley Oldham Athletic 0-3 Barnet Yeovil Town 2-2 Southend United --- @menzinho came out on top this round! --- And this is the updated table overall: --- This evening we've got another round on, you can enter your predictions until 7.45pm this evening. As ever, thanks for playing and see you there!
  16. Hull City 1-2 Plymouth Argyle Preston North End 1-1 Swansea City Charlton Athletic 1-2 Barnsley Mansfield Town 1-1 Wigan Athletic Colchester United 2-1 Chesterfield (joker) Newport County 0-1 Gillingham Aldershot 2-1 Dagenham & Redbridge Solihull Moors 0-2 Sutton United
  17. This round is for Tuesday night - don't miss out... @allardyces tash, @Blake, @cheeky~k8, @Chris, @CliftonMagpie, @DonnyNotts, @Harry Buckley, @JIMBO, @Joshua, @JustLikeJuve, @liampie, @magpiejue, @Megan_Elizax, @menzinho, @NottsLoyal, @NottsTastic, @OoooooTommy, @super_ram, @The Heff, @TheSkipper, @thommo, @upthepies
  18. Curiously, every single one of the Football League fixtures ended 2-1 to the home team: Coventry City 2-1 Preston North End Portsmouth 2-1 QPR Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Leyton Orient Northampton Town 2-1 Bristol Rovers Grimsby Town 2-1 Fleetwood Town Port Vale 2-1 Salford City Rochdale 0-4 Barnet Tamworth 1-1 Southend United --- @ARLukomski nailed it this week with 15 points! --- Overall, @ARLukomski now has a double-digit lead over @super_ram and the championship is looking like a two-horse race (or three if I can slip myself some points while nobody is looking). --- So that's round 33. Round 34, from Saturday, will be counted at some point tomorrow. Round 35, for Tuesday night, is already up and running - go on, have a go!
  19. Oh dear. My sympathy is limited all round. Scott Lindsay is now free to join an actual football club now, but nobody forced him to go there, did they? Here's hoping that the franchise continue to follow the Alan Hardy route to success.
  20. It's time for another midweek prediction league round. The following matches kick off at 7.45pm on Tuesday, and remember your joker. Good luck! Hull City v Plymouth Argyle Preston North End v Swansea City Charlton Athletic v Barnsley Mansfield Town v Wigan Athletic Colchester United v Chesterfield Newport County v Gillingham Aldershot v Dagenham & Redbridge Solihull Moors v Sutton United
  21. This round is closed and I'll post the results in the next couple of days. Round 35 is on Tuesday, so I'll post the fixtures for that in the next few minutes!
  22. Luton Town 0-2 Portsmouth (joker) Stoke City 0-2 Watford Crawley Town 1-0 Cambridge United Peterborough United 2-1 Shrewsbury Town Cheltenham Town 1-2 Grimsby Town Harrogate Town 1-1 Accrington Stanley Oldham Athletic 1-2 Barnet Yeovil Town 1-1 Southend United
  23. These kick off at 3pm on Saturday - don't forget your joker! Luton Town v Portsmouth Stoke City v Watford Crawley Town v Cambridge United Peterborough United v Shrewsbury Town Cheltenham Town v Grimsby Town Harrogate Town v Accrington Stanley Oldham Athletic v Barnet Yeovil Town v Southend United
  24. Thanks for playing, I'll post the results in the next couple of days. In the meantime, I'll post the next round if fixtures now.
  25. Is that post intended for the Tranmere thread @Super_Danny_Allsopp?
