Some good films there, This is England is one of the very best. I rewatched The Matrix last night - I'd almost forgotten what a good film that is.

Match Discussion: Game 28 - Pools (H)
You'd hope we can win this. But before the Luton game I said I couldn't see us winning it in a million years, and we won. So my verdict: I can't see us winning this in a million years!

Match Discussion: Game 27 - The Hatters (A)
Careful, I've got modding powers now Seriously thougjh, I didn't see that result coming at all, but I'm delighted about it. I've seen too many false dawns to start hailing JF as the new messiah - I remember Gary Brazil's three wins at the start of his reign of terror. But I hope I can enjoy a delicious slice of humble pie over the coming months.

Jamie Fullarton does not rule out new Notts County signings
He hasn't ruled it in either. In fact he said nothing whatsoever, as per usual.

Match Discussion: Game 27 - The Hatters (A)
Not a bad lineup @Piethagoram , but I think the nightmare vision is likelier! I can't see us winning this in a million years. Come on Notts, surprise us.

Jamie Fullarton: 'I want Notts County fans to be proud of their team'
Manager in wanting team to play well and win matches shocker! Show us why you were rated by the board, try to bring the fans together and throw the cliche book away.

Match Discussion: Game 27 - The Hatters (A)
We share two distinctions with Luton: they are one of the other teams who were relegated from the first division to the first division, and, like Notts, resigned from the Football League in 1992 in readiness for the Premier League but never actually played in the PL. I seem to remember Rob Matthews playing for Luton when he left us about that time. Their chairman is former morning TV and current Midlands Today presenter Nick Owen. McCourt never did much for us but he'll be a big danger on Saturday now that Luton have some wind under their sails. He's what Jimmy Sirrel would have called a "joiner-in".

Slightly impressive debuts and then disappoint
I immediately thought of Dadi and Angell too. Peter Beadle looked the absolute business on his debut but didn't follow it up and left a few months later. Kevin Rapley and Chris O'Grady scored on their debuts too. Lately we don't even seem to be getting the impressive debuts though!
-
Alan Smith may not be leaving County for Plymouth Argyle
He's had it as a player. If we've offered him a deal covering next season too, hopefully it'll be as a coach and not as a player.

Notts County CEO compares Jamie Fullarton to Brendan Rodgers
Oh dear - the last few managers were all the next Jimmy Sirrel, and now we're having to lower our expectations and make do with the new Brendan Rodgers! All we can do now is give the team our support and hope he's right.

Two new names emerge as contenders for Notts County manager's job
Paul Hurst's record isn't shabby at all, especially since he took sole charge of Grimsby. He's an up-and-coming manager but these appointments are always a risk - would he be a Nigel Clough or a Gary Mills? Also has little experience of League Two. Steve Clarke and Ian Baraclough would be the typical Trew-esque leftfield appointments. Could work out but a total stab in the dark.

Alan Smith 'to discuss future at Notts County with new manager'
He's been over the hill so long he's probably reached the sea by now. I don't blame him for wanting to play for as long as possible, but clubs are only interested in him because of his past. Why else would Plymouth be interested in a bit-part player at a team 16 places below them? It's understandable that players will want to talk to the new manager to see if they're in his plans, especially if they've got offers. I'm thinking of Noble here too. Actually, they'd be stupid not to.
-
'We should have stuck with Shaun Derry'
Whether we should have kept Derry until the end of last season is debatable, but he should certainly have gone after that. Remember the ridiculous revolving door of players, with one panic buy after another (how many did we use in the end, 45?) and the run that took us from the top three into the relegation zone? When Mr Trew opened his cheque book last January we signed utter tripe. I'd question how much knowledge Neil Warnock has of League Two in 2016 but Sheridan is a good shout.

Match Highlights: Notts County vs. Newport County
Hilarious slapstick defending from both sides. Our first was comedy gold! Glad there was a happy ending this time, but we won't be so lucky every week.

Ricardo Moniz: 'We must train like every day is our last'
If it were my last day, I wouldn't train at all. What would be the point? I'd have a gigantic Indian meal, have lots of sex and booze, maybe have a joint, and have a massive party. Hold on, have I just discovered the cause of our problems?

Steady Eddy bags brace as Notts beat Barnet
Isn't that the Shaun Batt who was playing for Orient last season? Uncle Colin raved about him, could virtually hear him drooling into the microphone.

Thanks to Joe and everyone who voted. Does this mean I get to be Prime Minister too? I echo the sentiments of @AmericanPie, it's a great place to be.

Write about why you joined
Cool! Would be a good idea to have the voting once entries have closed though, otherwise those who write later are at a disadvantage. Why did you join prideofnottingham.co.uk? Just wanted a light-hearted chat about Notts and the world again instead of the vitriol you get on a certain other site. Members (with multiple IDs) using blatantly racist language yet being allowed to carry on there was the last straw. I had heard of PON, had a look and liked what I saw. The site is obviously a labour of love, the layout is modern and clear and the community friendly. Even disadvantaged people such as Derby fans are looked after. What is your main highlight of being a member? It's yet to come - winning next season's prediction league How much have you seen PoN grow during your time? The site is clearly still growing. Even in my short time here quite a few people have started contributing. The more the merrier! As a community, what would you say are the three core values to PoN and why? Friendliness, solidarity among Notts fans the world over, and spandex.

I just clicked on this thread and saw "men in spandex". I shall now leave the thread, closing the door quietly behind me.

Adjusting to German football
Yes @notts-joe, a sausage is the preferred football food round these parts, hence the name. I've heard they eat fish up north though I miss me pies, but I suppose it's swings and roundabouts.
