Match Discussion: Game 30 - The Ravens (H)
We are unbeaten throughout the whole of 2020 Keep that up and I'll be happy enough. A win would be a great result bearing in mind where they are in the league and would put us within shooting distance of them. They had us well beaten in September from what I remember, but hopefully we've come a long way since then. Fingers crossed.

Match Discussion: Game 28 - The Moors (A)
Here's the winning goal from the Notts Facebook page. Listen to the roar on that! How many did we take?
-
Match Discussion: Game 28 - The Moors (A)
Get in! I've got to admit I was sceptical when I saw the team sheet, but it seems NA was spot on once again. Now we can go at Maidenhead again and consolidate our place in the play-offs.

Match Discussion: Game 27 - The Magpies (H)
Well that sounded pretty marvellous on the radio. Clinical in the first half, totally shut them out in the second. And it sounds like Osborne and Dennis made the most of their call-ups too, more of the same please! You're our new lucky charm!

Match Discussion: Game 26 - The Shaymen (A)
Delighted with the win. We certainly looked lively on the highlights. I know there's been a lot of redevelopment at the Shay, but the big empty seated stand looks depressing. Not sure why Halifax need a ground that big.

Match Discussion: FA Trophy - The Spireites (A)
@AmericanPie It's an unwelcome distraction and/or a very realistic chance to go to Wembley, depending on your point of view. Personally I think it's a great chance to go to Wembley and win an actual trophy, and we might as well grab it while we've still got the chance.

Match Discussion: FA Trophy - The Spireites (A)
Sounds like we didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory, but we won, that's the main thing. Who were the best performers? I liked the fancy dress concept, with so many fans coming disguised as blue seats. Is that you Neal?

Match Discussion: Game 22 - The Shots (A)
What a disappointing result, and one that puts the play-offs out of reach for us. I knew this season wouldn't be easy, but had started to warm to the idea of us cementing our place in the top five. Should have known better. Neal Ardley is entitled to be disappointed with his players if they aren't playing with the desired intensity and the opposition want it more. But there have to be consequences for players who don't perform - and that means making changes. Naming an unchanged team after a 3-0 home defeat sends out the wrong message. Our squad is big enough and good enough for there to be genuine competition, and no-one should be able to rest on their laurels.

Match Discussion: Game 22 - The Shots (A)
I quite like Aldershot. Jimmy Sirrel used to play for them (the original club) and they used to have a fridge glued to the roof of their stand. Or was it a washing machine? I hope we get back to winning ways and get back into the top seven. I'd prefer to see Rose on the bench and Booty in the middle.

Match Discussion: Game 19 - The Cardinals (A)
I've got a feeling Enzio and Thomas will score, and that we'll go seventh.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Spireites (A)
Chesterfield were one of the bookies' promotion favourites, but purely based on the name. They've had a torrid start to the season but seem to have picked up recently. The club has reported that we've sold the away end out, which should equate to 2,100 travelling fans. That's brilliant support! Hope you all enjoy the short journey and report back here with your experiences

Match Discussion: FA Cup - Nailers (H)
I wouldn't make wholesale changes, but I might rest two or three players and give those who are "knocking at the door" a go. If Wootton can't play it might be an opportunity to get Tyson match fit again. I don't subscribe to the idea that a cup run doesn't matter. We've taken part in more FA Cups than any other team. We haven't been missing from the first round of the cup since the Victorian era, and frankly I'm not ready for another first. We need to get through this round and show some League clubs that we're alive, kicking and will be back very soon. And winning football matches is fun, too Here's hoping to a good crowd, a good following from Derbyshire and of course a win for Notts!

Match Discussion: Game 17 - The Gulls (H)
This will be our first meeting with Torquay since the final day of the 2009-10 season. There was a bit of an invasion that weekend. I'm glad that Torquay came back up, but they've won their last three so it'll be tough. I predict a hard-fought draw but hope for another win.

Match Discussion: Game 16 - Daggers (H)
Get in! We seem to be building some momentum now. It's great to see us flirting with the top end of the table - to be quite honest I was expecting a relegation scrap. I'm really chuffed for Dennis scoring again too. While he's a great option to bring off the bench and change a match, he's our top scorer, and your top scorer really ought to be on the pitch.

Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Coasters (H)
Why are they called the Coasters? Is it because their badge looks a bit like a coaster?
-
Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Coasters (H)
It sounds like we didn't play all that well and certainly didn't have it all our way, but scored at the right times and won anyway. That's encouraging in my book. Plus there's the emergence of Sam Osborne, who nearly scored again with a belter of a shot. A crowd of 9000 is slightly disappointing given the prices, but I suppose the National League is a hard sell. We'll get five figures when promotion is at stake and not before. If the usual 5000 plus keep the faith, it'll go a long way towards getting the club back where it belongs.
-
Match Discussion: Game 10 - The U's (A)
If we use a formation the players are comfortable with and play our own game there's no reason why we can't win. Maybe we should think about recalling Booty as well - he was getting rave reviews and even scored in his first few games, only to be benched.
-
Match Discussion: Game 9 - The Moors (H)
Well that sounded disappointing. Did we really just settle for the draw?
-
Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Glovers (A)
If I remember right that was Mark Stallard's last goal for Notts and Yeovil won promotion that season. Feels like a long time ago now.
-
Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Magpies (H)
@Elite_pie if the result flattered us, the positive is that we do possess the quality to turn games when things aren't going our way. That's very important psychologically.
-
Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Magpies (H)
What a relief! I listened to the first half at work (no bank holiday in Germany as Jesus didn't do anything special and no miracles happened) and it didn't sound good at all. At least we were level. Finished work at half time, switched it off for the journey home and by the time I was back we were 5-1 up! I should turn my radio off more often There are still plenty of things to work on (not least the defending at set pieces) but in the end we won and we won well. Two strikers scored who really needed a goal. Another positive is that we are unbeaten in four with 8 points in that time. It doesn't matter who we played, the fact is that we developed a losing habit last season and it's time we kicked it. If you go into every game expecting to get at least a point, it's easier to stay positive if you fall behind whether you're a player or a fan.

Match Discussion: Game 6 - The Fleet (A)
I suppose if your glass is half full, you can at least say we're regularly taking the lead, unlike last season (although that really cannot be the yardstick). Trouble is, once you get into the habit of losing leads it can really get into your head and become a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy. We need to cut it out and get a couple of wins on the board. How were the individual performances?
-
Match Discussion: Game 6 - The Fleet (A)
This is the first game this season that I think we really should be winning. But away at the bottom of the league is always a banana skin. If we're professional, work hard and pick up from where we left off on Sunday, I'm hopeful of three points. It wouldn't be a bad game for Thomas or Tyson to break their duck either. At first glance their away end looks a bit like the old Kop, pretty old school. Who's going?

Faces of PON: Notts vs Wrexham, Sunday 18th August 2019
Great pictures, thanks for sharing. Makes me miss it. Looks like a fantastic following from Wrexham too, full marks to them. More than Stockport AND they didn't sing "Hey Baby". Is that sign still on the Sirrel Stand (you know, the one nearer the Kop)? It's been respectfully cut off all the pics I've seen so far...

Match Discussion: Game 5 - Red Dragons (H)
I've got to admit I wasn't impressed by the starting line-up, but it sounded like a good performance. It's encouraging that the team seems to be growing together, but frustrating we couldn't hold onto our lead and take three deserved points. Still, I'd have taken 4 points from this week. Thoughts on the individual performances?
