  1. Good to hear Jevani enjoying the Notts style of play! His mention of the possession style made me realise just how much control we’ve got. I think it’s the kind of play that suits him perfectly. Hopefully, as he says, it’s just about getting that consistency now. I’ve got my fingers crossed for him, he’s got potential, and with time he can deliver.
  2. That match showed a lot about the character of this team. We weren’t at our best, but the defensive shape was excellent, and Wimbledon struggled to break us down. It’s great to see the team adapting to different challenges. We couldn’t find our rhythm at times, but the lads stayed focused and got the job done. It’s not always about dominating possession or creating loads of chances, sometimes it’s just about doing the basics right. That’s exactly what we did today. We’ve been scoring a lot this season, but it’s wins like this that can be just as important.
  3. Maynard hit the nail on the head when he said it was an 'ugly' win. AFC Wimbledon made it difficult from the start, and it wasn’t a match filled with flair or creativity. But sometimes, that’s what you need in League Two. A clean sheet, a scrappy set-piece goal, and showing grit is what gets you through these tough fixtures. Really pleased to see us come through this one, especially with our defensive efforts.
  4. Tough match but some positive takeaways, I think. We played with great intensity, which is always encouraging to see. It’s clear that the team has a strong foundation, and while we didn’t manage to get the win, I feel we’re getting closer to where we need to be. Chesterfield was strong defensively, and a few calls didn’t go our way, which was frustrating. I loved the effort from players like Crowley and Abbott, you could see they were giving everything. The season’s still young, so I’m optimistic. If we keep playing like this, the wins will come.
  5. A brilliant read, Liam! Carlisle United's recent games under Williamson sound like they’ve brought renewed energy to the team. For Notts County fans, it’s exciting yet nerve-racking to see how we match up. Our defence needs to remain vigilant, especially against players like Jordan Jones and Charlie Wyke. Liam mentioned their Jekyll-and-Hyde nature, so consistency will be key for both sides. It’s also lovely to hear about the atmosphere at Brunton Park and how the fans are preparing for this match. The passion of the fans is something that always adds to the spectacle.
  6. I can see him being more of a head coach than an actual manager, and I think he would be fantastic at it. He knows what it takes to make players perform together. His hands-on approach in training should earn the respect of players. He’s knowledgeable and had a great understanding of how teams played. Certainly, I feel he could have adapted to be a very good head coach in modern football. To what extent? I am not sure, but I think there’s no denying the qualities that Jimmy Sirrel had.
  7. he Notts vs Gillingham match could end in a draw, given Gillingham’s strong defence and high expectations for this game. I can see why some Notts fans expect a challenging match; Gillingham is a formidable opponent. However, Notts has shown impressive form and attacking prowess, which could lead to a high-scoring game. The uncertainty around Gillingham’s injuries and the potential for unnecessary mistakes at the back by Notts could balance the game, making a draw a likely outcome.
  8. The way Maynard has got the team playing is just brilliant. Each game brings something new, and that unpredictability makes us a real threat. The resilience shown in the Bromley game was something special. Going behind and then pulling it back showcased the team’s character. I'm particularly impressed with how everyone is chipping in with goals. It's not all on one player's shoulders, which makes us harder to defend against. Looking at our upcoming fixture against Gillingham, I feel we have the upper hand. They might be good defensively, but our attacking dynamism could break through.
  9. The match against Bromley was a perfect illustration of why Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley are so highly regarded. Despite the shaky start, their brilliance shone through, turning the game on its head. Jones’ agility and Crowley’s vision create a formidable duo. Their ability to change the game so decisively is something every team desires. Also, the impact of substitutes like Alassana Jatta reinforces the depth and quality within the squad. Notts County’s attacking potential is immense, and it’s this kind of performance that gives fans hope for a successful season. Credit to Stallard for his honest and insightful analysis post-match.
  10. Maynard's tactical adjustments were spot on. Even after a shaky start, the team found their rhythm and took control of the game. The way they regrouped after the early goals speaks volumes about their mental fortitude. Jodi Jones' brace and Dan Crowley's effort were instrumental in turning the game around. Not to forget the defensive work by Matty Platt, Jacob Bedeau, and the rest who kept Bromley at bay. A commendable team performance through and through.
  11. I think the media team sometimes has too much time on their hands. A good tease is fine, but the Oasis song and the idea of them reuniting is a bit much to tie in with Jodi Jones extending his stay. They have gone a bit over the top since breaking the cryptic video. It might be a sign of my age, but I think some of the ideas could be saved for another day to keep the excitement there for days, rather than minutes. I am pleased Jodi Jones has agreed to a new deal. I will be buying some more shirts when they come in for other family members. I will be getting Jodi Jones on the back of them, not for me, but for younger supporters.
  12. Announcement to say that the charges will begin? Why all the fuss?
  13. Welcome to PoN, its a good to see more members joining and posting @Alan Carnell.
  14. I’ve been a fan for years, and I can honestly say that the vibe at Meadow Lane has never been better. The improvements around the ground and the focus on fan experience really show that the club is moving in the right direction.
  15. I have posted this in the GP General Discussion forum, but it might be Notts related. It all depends on you. I would like to encourage members to tell a tale about meeting someone of important significance that might be interesting to other members of the site. It could be any type of experience, but importantly of interest. Maybe a quirky thing? Perhaps even a supernatural experience? Or, something else. I am thinking outside of the box. I think this could be interesting if members are willing to try.
  16. Enjoy the game, it should be very entertaining for a neutral. Hopefully, Notts will impress.
  17. It’s always exciting to see how early-season form in League Two can shape up the rest of the campaign. Notts has started well, with a particularly strong showing against Grimsby Town previously. Their high pressing and quick transitions can cause all sorts of problems for Swindon Town, who have been fragile at the back. Mark Kennedy has his work cut out to tighten things up defensively, but they also need to be more adventurous going forward. However, Notts County’s momentum and attacking prowess might be too much for them to handle. Should be an interesting match.
  18. It was a heartbreaker to lose to Shrewsbury Town on penalties, but Stallard’s analysis provides much-needed perspective. Our first-half performance was exceptional, and even though we faltered in the second half, the overall display was promising. Holding a higher-division team to a draw in regular time is no small feat. The tactical decisions, including the substitutions, were made with the bigger picture in mind. Stallard’s optimism for the upcoming league campaign is what we need. The support from the fans, especially with the first home league game approaching, will be crucial. I have faith in our lads and believe they’re on the right path to success this season.
  19. Notts’ early dominance was a joy to watch, with Grant and Austin scoring quickly. Shrewsbury’s second-half comeback caught us off guard. Jatta’s late equaliser gave hope, but we lost on penalties. Despite the loss, our lads showed heart and quality.
  20. Cedwyn Scott’s story is one of resilience and determination. Coming back from an injury that was described as potentially career-ending is no small achievement. Now, stepping into the iconic number 9 role for Notts, Scott has shown he’s ready to tackle new challenges head-on. I’m particularly impressed by his positive outlook and ambition to score goals regardless of his position. This kind of mindset will undoubtedly be a driving force for the squad. I’m optimistic about Scott’s impact on the team and eager to see how this season unfolds for him and Notts County.
  21. He’s tall and strong, but he still has a lot to demonstrate and justify the transfer fee paid for him. I am confident that he will continue to score goals in the upcoming season.
  22. He is undoubtedly one of the finest players we’ve had in ages, if not the finest. He’s earned his chance to play in the Championship. Fans of Millwall should be over the moon that they’ve secured his services. I thought other clubs would be keen to compete in a bidding war for him.
  23. Lucien Mahovo’s transfer to Norwich City is a significant step in his career. At just 19, he’s shown incredible promise, and moving to a Championship team is a testament to his talent. Notts did a stellar job in his development, making this transfer a proud moment for the club. It’s also commendable that Norwich City sees potential in nurturing young talents like Lucien. I’m optimistic that he’ll adapt well to the new environment, benefiting from advanced facilities and higher-level play. Well done, Lucien!
  24. It's sad to lose good players who should be playing for England. I think he would bring a breath of fresh air to this squad and help the breakthrough players.
  25. England had a very lucky escape from what should have been a well-deserved win for Slovakia. The performances are improving, but without changes, England lacks creativity. The changes Gareth Southgate made are like picking up a "get out of jail free" card in Monopoly.
