Game 2: Match Discussion, The Ammies (H)
I might be one of the few hoping things fall into place so we can really put Salford to the sword. Iโd love to see Matthew Dennis score twice, and for Jodi Jones, Barry Cotter and the others to get their names on the scoresheet. It probably wonโt be that simple, but a strong win would lift spirits and maybe spark a few wild hopes. Itโs been a long time since we properly thrashed a team. A 3-0 win or better would be the stuff of dreams.

When automatic sub titling goes wrong
Sometimes itโs hard to tell if someone has a strong accent or if itโs just poor choice of words. The language used on the BBC these days can be a bit much. Itโs not quite the same as it used to be. Some presenters donโt speak clearly, and the ones who do often come across as too serious.

Roberto Gagliardi: Notts County Moving in the Right Direction After Busy Summer
Really liked what Gagliardi had to say about the recruitment process. You can tell theyโve put a lot of thought into not just who theyโre signing, but why. The emphasis on pace, power, and intensity is something weโve badly needed for a while. Heโs right, we looked soft at times last year, especially against the more physical sides. Hopefully the likes of Cotter, Bennetts and Norburn can bring that edge weโve been missing. Still early days, but it sounds promising.

Martin Paterson on Newport County Test: โWeโre Ready, But Itโs About Performance, Not Hypeโ
This gives me a lot more confidence heading into the season. I wasnโt sure what to expect after Maynard left, but Paterson seems to have a clear head and a thoughtful approach. Heโs not hyping things up but heโs not avoiding pressure either. That balance is important. The quote about โbeing at peace with the pressureโ stood out, thatโs what it takes to be at a club like Notts. Youโve got to want it.

New shirt
Itโs not really my style, but it does look good on Platt and Bedeau. I reckon lots of fans will like it. Iโm not really into wearing shirts unless theyโre the classic black and white. Thatโs more my thing. These days, I tend to wear the older shirts. Even if I get one from the new season, I donโt always wear it straight away. The club hasnโt made any bad shirts to be fair. Theyโre just not always what I go for.

Notts County Name Martin Paterson as Head Coach in Ambitious Club Restructure
Iโve supported Notts County long enough to know I canโt just follow how I feel. I have to think with my heart but also use my head. The new technical board is the bright side Iโm focusing on. Thereโs no point getting too upset that another unknown has been picked. Itโs fine to be disappointed, but still back the club. If you canโt do that, it makes you wonder why you support any team at all. Youโve got to stick with them through ups and downs. We need to keep our priorities clear. Everyone coming in deserves a fair go.

Sam Austin: "The Magic of the FA Cup Is Alive and Well"
Hearing Sam talk about the draw and his memories with Kidderminster is fantastic. You can tell he understands the emotional pull of the FA Cup. Heโs spot on about needing confidence against tougher teams and the importance of fan support. Itโs clear this squad is prepared and motivated.

Jevani Brown Praises Meadow Lane Fans and Shares Ambitions for Promotion Push
Good to hear Jevani enjoying the Notts style of play! His mention of the possession style made me realise just how much control weโve got. I think itโs the kind of play that suits him perfectly. Hopefully, as he says, itโs just about getting that consistency now. Iโve got my fingers crossed for him, heโs got potential, and with time he can deliver.

Matty Platt's 67th-Minute Heroics Seal 1-0 Triumph for Notts Against AFC Wimbledon
That match showed a lot about the character of this team. We werenโt at our best, but the defensive shape was excellent, and Wimbledon struggled to break us down. Itโs great to see the team adapting to different challenges. We couldnโt find our rhythm at times, but the lads stayed focused and got the job done. Itโs not always about dominating possession or creating loads of chances, sometimes itโs just about doing the basics right. Thatโs exactly what we did today. Weโve been scoring a lot this season, but itโs wins like this that can be just as important.

Stuart Maynard Hails Grit After Notts County's Hard-Fought 1-0 Win Over AFC Wimbledon
Maynard hit the nail on the head when he said it was an 'ugly' win. AFC Wimbledon made it difficult from the start, and it wasnโt a match filled with flair or creativity. But sometimes, thatโs what you need in League Two. A clean sheet, a scrappy set-piece goal, and showing grit is what gets you through these tough fixtures. Really pleased to see us come through this one, especially with our defensive efforts.

Match Report: McGoldrickโs Last-Minute Heroics Secure Dramatic Draw for Notts in Derby Thriller
Tough match but some positive takeaways, I think. We played with great intensity, which is always encouraging to see. Itโs clear that the team has a strong foundation, and while we didnโt manage to get the win, I feel weโre getting closer to where we need to be. Chesterfield was strong defensively, and a few calls didnโt go our way, which was frustrating. I loved the effort from players like Crowley and Abbott, you could see they were giving everything. The seasonโs still young, so Iโm optimistic. If we keep playing like this, the wins will come.

Opposition View: Liam Cole on Carlisle Unitedโs Rebuild Under Mike Williamson and Facing Notts County
A brilliant read, Liam! Carlisle United's recent games under Williamson sound like theyโve brought renewed energy to the team. For Notts County fans, itโs exciting yet nerve-racking to see how we match up. Our defence needs to remain vigilant, especially against players like Jordan Jones and Charlie Wyke. Liam mentioned their Jekyll-and-Hyde nature, so consistency will be key for both sides. Itโs also lovely to hear about the atmosphere at Brunton Park and how the fans are preparing for this match. The passion of the fans is something that always adds to the spectacle.

Could He Be Successful Today?
I can see him being more of a head coach than an actual manager, and I think he would be fantastic at it. He knows what it takes to make players perform together. His hands-on approach in training should earn the respect of players. Heโs knowledgeable and had a great understanding of how teams played. Certainly, I feel he could have adapted to be a very good head coach in modern football. To what extent? I am not sure, but I think thereโs no denying the qualities that Jimmy Sirrel had.

Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Gills (H)
he Notts vs Gillingham match could end in a draw, given Gillinghamโs strong defence and high expectations for this game. I can see why some Notts fans expect a challenging match; Gillingham is a formidable opponent. However, Notts has shown impressive form and attacking prowess, which could lead to a high-scoring game. The uncertainty around Gillinghamโs injuries and the potential for unnecessary mistakes at the back by Notts could balance the game, making a draw a likely outcome.

Notts Countyโs Unpredictability Key to Success, Says Stuart Maynard Before Gillingham FC Test
The way Maynard has got the team playing is just brilliant. Each game brings something new, and that unpredictability makes us a real threat. The resilience shown in the Bromley game was something special. Going behind and then pulling it back showcased the teamโs character. I'm particularly impressed with how everyone is chipping in with goals. It's not all on one player's shoulders, which makes us harder to defend against. Looking at our upcoming fixture against Gillingham, I feel we have the upper hand. They might be good defensively, but our attacking dynamism could break through.

"No One Can Handle Jones and Crowley at Their Best" โ Mark Stallard on Notts County's Dynamic Duo
The match against Bromley was a perfect illustration of why Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley are so highly regarded. Despite the shaky start, their brilliance shone through, turning the game on its head. Jonesโ agility and Crowleyโs vision create a formidable duo. Their ability to change the game so decisively is something every team desires. Also, the impact of substitutes like Alassana Jatta reinforces the depth and quality within the squad. Notts Countyโs attacking potential is immense, and itโs this kind of performance that gives fans hope for a successful season. Credit to Stallard for his honest and insightful analysis post-match.

'Incredible Mentalityโ: Stuart Maynard Reflects on Notts Countyโs 4-2 Victory
Maynard's tactical adjustments were spot on. Even after a shaky start, the team found their rhythm and took control of the game. The way they regrouped after the early goals speaks volumes about their mental fortitude. Jodi Jones' brace and Dan Crowley's effort were instrumental in turning the game around. Not to forget the defensive work by Matty Platt, Jacob Bedeau, and the rest who kept Bromley at bay. A commendable team performance through and through.

Jodi Jones - New contract
I think the media team sometimes has too much time on their hands. A good tease is fine, but the Oasis song and the idea of them reuniting is a bit much to tie in with Jodi Jones extending his stay. They have gone a bit over the top since breaking the cryptic video. It might be a sign of my age, but I think some of the ideas could be saved for another day to keep the excitement there for days, rather than minutes. I am pleased Jodi Jones has agreed to a new deal. I will be buying some more shirts when they come in for other family members. I will be getting Jodi Jones on the back of them, not for me, but for younger supporters.

Excellent article on Notts v Accrington by Tom Reed
Iโve been a fan for years, and I can honestly say that the vibe at Meadow Lane has never been better. The improvements around the ground and the focus on fan experience really show that the club is moving in the right direction.
