  1. I have posted this in the GP General Discussion forum, but it might be Notts related. It all depends on you. I would like to encourage members to tell a tale about meeting someone of important significance that might be interesting to other members of the site. It could be any type of experience, but importantly of interest. Maybe a quirky thing? Perhaps even a supernatural experience? Or, something else. I am thinking outside of the box. I think this could be interesting if members are willing to try.
  2. Enjoy the game, it should be very entertaining for a neutral. Hopefully, Notts will impress.
  3. It’s always exciting to see how early-season form in League Two can shape up the rest of the campaign. Notts has started well, with a particularly strong showing against Grimsby Town previously. Their high pressing and quick transitions can cause all sorts of problems for Swindon Town, who have been fragile at the back. Mark Kennedy has his work cut out to tighten things up defensively, but they also need to be more adventurous going forward. However, Notts County’s momentum and attacking prowess might be too much for them to handle. Should be an interesting match.
  4. It was a heartbreaker to lose to Shrewsbury Town on penalties, but Stallard’s analysis provides much-needed perspective. Our first-half performance was exceptional, and even though we faltered in the second half, the overall display was promising. Holding a higher-division team to a draw in regular time is no small feat. The tactical decisions, including the substitutions, were made with the bigger picture in mind. Stallard’s optimism for the upcoming league campaign is what we need. The support from the fans, especially with the first home league game approaching, will be crucial. I have faith in our lads and believe they’re on the right path to success this season.
  5. Notts’ early dominance was a joy to watch, with Grant and Austin scoring quickly. Shrewsbury’s second-half comeback caught us off guard. Jatta’s late equaliser gave hope, but we lost on penalties. Despite the loss, our lads showed heart and quality.
  6. Cedwyn Scott’s story is one of resilience and determination. Coming back from an injury that was described as potentially career-ending is no small achievement. Now, stepping into the iconic number 9 role for Notts, Scott has shown he’s ready to tackle new challenges head-on. I’m particularly impressed by his positive outlook and ambition to score goals regardless of his position. This kind of mindset will undoubtedly be a driving force for the squad. I’m optimistic about Scott’s impact on the team and eager to see how this season unfolds for him and Notts County.
  7. He’s tall and strong, but he still has a lot to demonstrate and justify the transfer fee paid for him. I am confident that he will continue to score goals in the upcoming season.
  8. He is undoubtedly one of the finest players we’ve had in ages, if not the finest. He’s earned his chance to play in the Championship. Fans of Millwall should be over the moon that they’ve secured his services. I thought other clubs would be keen to compete in a bidding war for him.
  9. Lucien Mahovo’s transfer to Norwich City is a significant step in his career. At just 19, he’s shown incredible promise, and moving to a Championship team is a testament to his talent. Notts did a stellar job in his development, making this transfer a proud moment for the club. It’s also commendable that Norwich City sees potential in nurturing young talents like Lucien. I’m optimistic that he’ll adapt well to the new environment, benefiting from advanced facilities and higher-level play. Well done, Lucien!
  10. It's sad to lose good players who should be playing for England. I think he would bring a breath of fresh air to this squad and help the breakthrough players.
  11. England had a very lucky escape from what should have been a well-deserved win for Slovakia. The performances are improving, but without changes, England lacks creativity. The changes Gareth Southgate made are like picking up a "get out of jail free" card in Monopoly.
  12. His time has been marked by spirited and passionate performances, but now is the right time to part ways. This does not diminish what he has achieved during his five-year tenure. Thank you, Connell.
  13. Curtis Edwards seems like an outstanding fit for Notts. It’s clear he is not just focused on individual success but also on contributing to the team’s overall performance. His comments about preferring a deeper playing position suggest he’ll be pivotal in both defence and attack. I look forward to see how he performs. His experience and mindset might be the key to a successful season for us.
  14. It was a good straight run, with good passing but the goal is standard and even if it was scored with any other players not many other than those fans of the players would be talking about that.
  15. It’s a big match for both clubs, the winner will gain crucial points and would it mean there would be pressure on both which sees the match fizzle out to end as a draw? I reckon Notts should be in a better position going into the match but if they start slowly, it could be a different match altogether. I just want to see an entertaining match between two good teams.
  16. I didn’t reckon it was a handball, I still don’t after seeing the highlights but we must accept it and carry on with what we can control. I don’t want VAR to affect the game at our level and when you have points of discussion like this, it will always lead to that debate.
  17. He’s a good player on his day, he works hard and gets stuck in. I don’t believe he’s an exact replacement for Matt Palmer but that’s a good thing. His qualities are impressive and what he does similar to Palmer is effective. Those two could be a very strong pair in the heart of midfield.
  18. I reckon there are aspects to both scenarios that make loan signings good and bad. It’s more about using common sense and bringing in players who have the skill and attitude to do well. Some, even the seasoned players, don’t make an effort because they are merely on loan. But when you sign someone who wants to prove themselves, usually out of favour like Jodi Jones, you can get the best out of them. He’s the prime example of how it can be successful, as he enjoyed his time here so much he signed on a permanent basis and his time here wasn’t a benefit to others. Not that I’m against that, it just counteracts giving our own lads a chance but the likes of Jack Grealish, Callum McGregor and Ryan Yates are good examples of why this does work albeit that Yates’ being recalled did harm the progress the club was making at the time.
  19. Maynard's adaptability shines through in these unforeseen circumstances, taking the extra training time to improve the squad's understanding of his system. It's a silver lining that could have a tangible impact on the field. His focus on a collaborative club atmosphere, extending beyond the pitch, is what builds the foundation for long-term success. With a manager like that, I feel like the players are going to be as confident and as prepared as they can be, which is all we can ask for ahead of a tough game.
  20. Jim O'Brien’s openness in this interview is precisely why I have faith in our team. The clarity and steadiness he has brought during this unpredictable time is crucial. Acknowledging the need to tighten our defense while still pushing our style of play demonstrates a well-considered strategy. Of course, Stockport won't be easy, but I'm confident we're prepared for the challenge.
  21. The decision seems illogical, but I can somewhat understand given their recent poor form. Without intervention, they could easily slip into the bottom three. They’re currently on 14 points, with a slim 5-point cushion. The appointment they’ve made only exacerbates the situation, which is quite disappointing. I can’t envision many Forest fans wanting Steve Cooper to leave.
  22. It’s encouraging to hear that Kyle Cameron is available for selection. I hope he returns with the determination to lead the defence as we know he’s capable of. A strong partnership could form between him and Aden Baldwin if they communicate effectively and make sound decisions under pressure.
  23. I’ve never been particularly fond of Christmas films. While I can watch and find enjoyment in them with others, there aren’t any that I eagerly anticipate each December. My preference leans more towards westerns.
  24. I agree with Williams about Stockport County's impressive run this season. They've been standing out as a tough team to beat. But rather than being intimidated, our team, guided by Williams, should take this as a motivation and challenge to step up our game. Resources and strategies are important but ultimately, it's the grit and determination on the pitch that will dictate the result.
  25. If the land is designated solely for sports use, then housing developers might not be interested in purchasing Meadow Lane unless the Council makes a notable reversal. I suspect that most of the land would be challenging to build on due to the high risk of flooding. While I’m not opposed to the idea of owning the land, I believe it will become a necessity once we regain our status as a Championship team.
