My team would be Roos, McDonald, Platt with Macari if he is injured, Jacob Bedeau, Cotter with Tsaroulla if he is unfit, Jarvis, Robertson, Palmer, Luker, Hall and Jatta.
The substitutes would be Griffiths, Aljofree, Norburn, Jodi, Grant and Dennis.
The bench could change if we want to be more defensive, and that is a luxury we have with this season’s squad.
Attacking options are much stronger now with more players available, and I would like to see Will Jarvis back in the side.

He is a quiet player who lets his control and creativity show his quality. Some players can score goals but offer little else. Enzio Boldewijn is an example of that. Hard work and consistency should be valued just as much as goals.
Matt Palmer might need to be a little more selfish when he has the ball. It could also be that his passing is stronger than his shooting. Conor Grant is a good player. He can be frustrating at times, but he helps us keep the ball and move forward.
He is dangerous when opening up play. It could help him to work on shooting drills and to take fewer touches when he has a chance to score.

Ricky Hatton was a very entertaining boxer. In the early part of his career he seemed a little distant, but over time he became likeable and earned a lot of respect.
It is very sad to hear about his passing. The news came as a shock and feels even more powerful because it was so unexpected.
Rest in peace, Ricky Hatton.

If the preparation is done properly and the recruitment is sorted in good time, I don’t really have a problem with it. The concern is that if you go too early, you might end up taking trialists just to fill the squad.
It could be a nice reward for some of the younger players, and it also gives new signings a chance to settle in and get used to the team. If we do go ahead with the tour, I just hope it starts a week or so later. That would give us time to organise friendlies around it and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Tranmere did a lot of pushing, and most of it went unnoticed by the officials. That’s why I’m even more pleased with the win. Teams like that try to wind players up and break their focus, but we didn’t let it happen.
I thought Jodi Jones had a poor game, especially for someone of his usual standard. He could’ve come off at half-time and it wouldn’t have been a surprise. Everyone else did their job well, but the three who really stood out were Matthew Dennis, Matt Palmer and Rod McDonald.

Securing a reliable goalkeeper should be the top priority for Notts this summer. It's the one area where stability and confidence can ripple through the entire squad. No side thrives without that solid foundation at the back, and strengthening that position would offer reassurance throughout the team.
That said, bringing in an attacking midfielder would add another dimension to our play. Someone who can unlock defences, pick a pass, and contribute goals could be the missing link between midfield and attack. While a striker would be a welcome addition, it's more likely the club will seek a versatile forward, potentially someone who can operate out wide rather than a traditional centre-forward. That flexibility tends to suit our style and squad balance better.

Martin Paterson’s Black and White Army!
Like I’ve said, when we’re being linked with the likes of Luke Williams, the Danish Under-21 manager, and others, it’s always going to feel like a letdown if the final choice doesn’t match what fans were hoping for. The Reedtz brothers haven’t let us down, though. Every time people question them, they keep pushing Notts forward. They’ve built something special.
Maybe the one thing they could’ve done differently was back Stuart Maynard the same way they’re backing Paterson. But that’s easy to say now, looking back. It could even be that they’re putting more focus on the coaching team this time because of what happened before.

It wouldn’t be such a big deal, but one year there weren’t enough home shirts ordered. We were told they’d arrive before Christmas, but they turned up much later. I like Puma, but the club really should look at their performance more closely before signing another long-term deal.
The idea of an exclusive shirt was solid, but it just wasn’t put into action well.
