  1. Reading this blog, it's clear that there is a wave of optimism washing over Notts County ahead of this season. The new signings offer reason for optimism, from the quality of skills and positions they cover, to the blend of experience and freshness they bring. Every player will bring his unique attributes in a way that will empower Notts. This is an enjoyable read.
  2. I don’t buy them anymore; I borrow a friend’s and read the first few pages. The rest I skim, as it’s not often anything to do with Notts as such, just community bulletins which are of no general interest. This isn’t always the case, but I find the front to be excellent, the back to be useful, but the middle is just filler to my eyes. 30 pages of quality text, that is the way forward.
  3. It’s about time decisions were looked into properly and repercussions were sorted. I don’t see why it took so long for them to decide it was violent conduct. If the evidence is clear enough, it should be quite simple to implement the 3-game ban.
  4. Going to have a family day out and grab a photo. Celebrating Notts' victory in the best way possible!
  5. I don’t know much about the Turkish league, but I wish Marc Bola all the best. He’s a good player, so I hope the move brings him closer to winning trophies.
  6. Good luck to Archie Mair, after his saves at Wembley he will always be remembered at Notts.
  7. The home shirt isn’t bad, but I don’t think it’s great either. Interesting concept but it’s just okay. I do like the away blue shirt but I am undecided if I will wait for the home shirt to grow on me or just buy that.
  8. It’s the same every year when Notts doesn’t perform well in pre-season friendlies. It wouldn’t surprise me if Notts played non-league teams in the past to avoid this kind of overreaction. I don’t know what some people expect from a team that is two divisions higher and has previously spent many years in the Premier League. Some people are just spoilt, while others are simply absent-minded.
  9. Hello, welcome to the site @MagpieRob. ????????????????
  10. There were some poor mistakes made that gave Stoke City goals, but these are things they will learn from. Luke Williams knows this; he will have made his decision, and I think he will know which youth players can fill in games in League Two. I understand the disappointment, but I see the positives. I heard silly comments myself; we will always get this, but I also heard people praising and encouraging them. I thought the KOP had no atmosphere, and I think the club should have allowed the full KOP to be open. I thought the attendance would be higher; I guess that was wishful thinking. I won’t criticise any of the players directly, as it’s a pre-season game, and I do credit Stoke for their efforts. Campbell looks like a Premier League player, not Championship, and I wish them all the best with their season.
  11. David McGoldrick, Dan Crowley, Aaron Nemane, Adam Chicksen all did some neat things. Will Randall seems to have a good understanding with Jodi Jones, who worked well with Sam Austin. I thought the players that came on made Notts look more defensive, but to my surprise, they took the game to Stoke. I thought the atmosphere was poor, but some fans tried to encourage the players in a positive way. We will always get a few idiots overreacting.
  12. Thank you for all the welcome messages, it's a nice touch from you all.
  13. Yes, United needs new owners for things to change, but their fans have always been the fickle type that only cares about winning. I do think they have some awful owners, but not as bad as many other clubs. They are willing to invest, and someone might say they have to do this because they’ll lose money when or if they do sell, but Manchester United will always be sellable to a rich investor provided they are in the upper half of the Premier League.
  14. I am just keen to get back to Meadow Lane and see how we do against Stoke City. Winning doesn’t matter; I just want to see us have chances and defend as well as we can.
  15. Welcome to the community, I recently joined myself and I hope you enjoy it as much as me @rohan.
  16. Macaulay Langstaff had a good run out; I thought the Nuneaton keeper pulled off some great saves. Finding the net early into pre-season can build confidence. A striker thrives on having chances, and I do feel that, with the way Luke Williams has Notts playing, a good striker will score, but an exceptional player will net a few. It’s been a while since we’ve had a player so natural at finishing.
  17. In the first few games, Notts has a good chance of establishing themselves with the front runners of League Two. I think realistically, there may be several teams 10 games in that just need to find the right balance with their results in order to be a firm title or promotion contender. I would like for Notts to be in the running for either, yet provided we are clear from the drop, then we are fine.
  18. I think Meta will force Elon Musk’s hand when his site’s shares start to fall and people start demanding changes, but the things he has implemented don’t work or bring in the big bucks that he wants. I think he will end up losing more money due to decisions to turn the site into a paywall.
  19. I have a player of Stoke City that managed Notts County, unfortunately some of our fans felt inclined to sing chants about his personal problems. R.I.P Howard Kendall.
  20. It's reassuring to see Williams focus on continuation from last season's style of play. He understands the importance of sticking to what has worked, while exploring necessary changes during pre-season.
  21. Good comments and insight from the fans, excellently written. I am also looking forward to the new season!
  22. Nemane's impact has been palpable. He's played a key role in our successful season. Well done, lad!
  23. Luke Williams has a talent for seeing the bigger picture. His handling and communication skills are part of what makes him a successful manager. I think he’ll do well with us in League Two, as we have more depth now.
  24. I’d welcome a loan agreement for Tiernan Brooks, but I wouldn’t want to see him leave permanently just yet. We’ve had some promising keepers over the years, but he has real potential. He’s a talented young keeper.
  25. Dagenham & Redbridge have made a good signing in Frank Vincent. I hope he does well for them, it’s a shame Notts couldn’t get the most out of him.
