  1. I don’t want to dwell on the Alassana Jatta situation with the back spasm, but it does matter when talking with other Notts fans. We can only guess what really happened, but it seems likely that Jatta felt ready to move on. The fact that Notts turned down a second offer from Plymouth Argyle may have made things more difficult. All we know for sure is that bids were rejected. Everything else is just talk and guesswork. Even so, the way things were dealt with behind the scenes seems to show that the club handled it well. People will always want more openness, but keeping the squad settled is just as important if we want to stay focused on our goals for the season. Jatta’s contract being extended beyond this season shows that the club still values him. It’s also worth pointing out how well he’s been received since coming back. When rumours start flying around, it can damage the relationship between the player, the club and the fans. But Jatta has returned looking sharp and ready, like he was never away. Whatever was said during that week when Martin Paterson and others spoke with Jatta clearly helped. They found a way to move forward that worked for everyone. I think the club did a good job with it.
  2. I was surprised when the club chose to set up friendlies in Germany. I understand why some people support the idea and why others might not. Playing strong teams, even if they are in the second tier, is a good way to test ourselves. But by that point, the squad should have been mostly complete. That would have helped the players settle in and get used to each other. Fitness has clearly been an issue. You could see it from the first match, although things are slowly getting better. Injuries have played a part, so that needs to be considered. Still, this pre-season felt poorly planned. It might explain why the Director of Football has now left. When things behind the scenes aren't running smoothly, it often shows in the decisions and results.
  3. Brilliant interview! Dan's humility and drive shine through. The team's friendship is clearly a testament to the collaborative spirit that's brewing at Meadow Lane.
  4. Luke Williams post-match interview provided valuable insights into County's victory over Tranmere. He emphasized the challenges the team faced and their resilience in overcoming them. It's clear that the players have been working hard and their dedication is paying off. The ability to control the game and create opportunities, even with one less player, is a testament to their growth and determination. Luke's comments paint a picture of a team that is constantly striving to improve, both on and off the pitch. With this level of focus and concentration, Notts has a bright future ahead.
  5. Jim O'Brien's dedication and commitment to the team is admirable. It's important to recognize the value he brings to the squad.
