  1. I see this as a reminder that financial strength doesn’t always come from spending big, but from making sure the club is stable and protected.

Waiving over ten million pounds is not a small gesture, and it shows the owners are willing to shoulder risk themselves rather than letting it hang over the club. That builds trust. Supporters will want results on the pitch, but moves like this are the groundwork that allows those results to come without the fear of collapse behind the scenes.

Football is full of stories where owners walked away, but here it feels like they’re doubling down.

  2. Notts must think long term as well as short term.

A clear system that suits the players helps recruitment and development. We should back the squad with smart signings that add pace, technical ability, and grit.

The club has a spine: but a reliable goalkeeper, would compliment the solid centre backs, and the midfield that can control tempo. The manager should use youth when ready, but not rush players into big roles. By firm planning and steady progress, Notts can climb the table and play football that makes supporters proud.

  3. Notts have a strong base to build on, both on and off the pitch.

The off-field work is clear and steady, which helps in the long run. On the pitch, we need to see a clear plan translated into results. The idea of sticking with a manager who shares the club's values is important.

If MP can recruit in the right areas and keep the squad together for a run of games, we’ll see better cohesion. The fans know it takes time and patience. We should not expect miracles, but we should expect a steady climb. That is enough for now if the club stays level and honest about the challenges ahead.

  4. The history of Notts makes this moment extra sweet.

Being the oldest professional club in the world brings responsibility, and last Saturday the side showed why the club remains relevant. The 91 teams in four divisions is a testament to resilience and long-term thinking.

The fans deserve to feel proud, but we must keep our discipline and respect on and off the pitch. We should celebrate with humility and let the players enjoy the moment, then remind ourselves the real work starts next match. The board has to keep investing in youth and facilities to sustain this level. Notts can be at the heart of the city again if we stay focused and grounded.

  5. It's amazing how Lifeline has raised over £4 million since 1986!

Knowing how these funds are shaping the future of Notts County fills me with pride. This year’s focus on creating a high-performance gym matches what elite clubs would aim for, putting our players in the best position for performance enhancement.

Additionally, improving matchday experiences with safe standing and updated turnstiles reflects ongoing commitment towards both athletes and fans. More than just infrastructure, these upgrades testify to the club’s ambition and the steadfast dedication of the Lifeline supporters to ensure its continued success.

  6. Notts can't really do much until something actually happens. For now, they have to trust what Jatta is saying and take him at his word. It’s not a good look, though. If the club is putting out a different version of events, then they’re adding fuel to the rumours. That only makes things messier.

We have to accept that stories like this will always pop up. Most won’t get to the point where they seem dodgy, but sometimes they do, and that’s just how it goes, sadly.

  7. Nick Tsaroulla looks like he could really make an impact now that Martin Paterson is in charge. He’s already showing more energy, and in his first game back in the starting line-up, he’s managed to score.

That’s something he found difficult under Stuart Maynard, so it’s good to see him getting off the mark. Hopefully he can keep it up and add a few more goals as the season goes on.

For me, he was the standout player in that match. I’d give him Man of the Match without hesitation.

  8. I don’t think this is good for football. It shows that money is behind everything, and if clubs are willing to spend it, they can move a match that should be played at home to somewhere completely different. I doubt many home or away fans will travel for it, and I hope they don’t, as a way of protesting the decision.

It’ll probably attract casual viewers and American fans who chant things like “Attack, attack, attack” or “Defence, defence” as if it’s basketball. It’s a very poor decision to let the game be played in America.

  9. Over time, the technical board might be able to give Martin Paterson a lot of useful support, but it won’t happen straight away.

Just like the squad, there will be moments early on when some players aren’t quite in sync with each other. A few are still working on their fitness. Barry Cotter is one example, he started really well but seemed to slow down after about half an hour.

The start of the season has been disappointing, but it’s not a big worry. The Salford match could have gone our way if a few chances had worked out. Jodi Jones hitting the crossbar was one of them.

Salford didn’t play in a very positive way, but we still looked like a strong team. It’s important to give feedback, support the players, and make sure they don’t rush things.

  10. Things are moving forward and it’s very impressive. Not many sites let their members choose how things look and feel. That’s a great feature for Pride of Nottingham. If fans don’t want to see the forums, they can switch them off by picking a different style. It’s a clever idea!

Personally, I like how tidy and organised the site is with the forums. But some members might find it a bit much, so this is a good way to keep everyone happy.
