  7. @theAnticlough If Roos gets injured & Notts have to bring in an emergency loan, & that could be a possibility because Roos will be classed as a Senior Goalkeeper, that demonstrates to me that the Club haven't covered the goalkeeping position sufficiently which brings us back to the fact that Notts should have ensured that they had two senior goalkeepers of League 2 ability. As for Slocombe I don't think he would be considered as an alternative.
  8. Of course we should be looking for continuous improvement in all of our players. That's where squad competition comes in. All the squad players want to see their name on the starting eleven team sheet. Results are improving because of the competitive nature of the players currently in the squad. In the outfield positions this is very true because we have two or three players that can play in a particular position. Maybe Roos will continue to improve without that competition pushing him, but at the moment there is only young Griffiths & he's still learning his trade, & unfortunately hasn't had much game time. I would have preferred that the Club would have ensured that they had two goalkeepers who were competent enough to replace each other, either due to poor form or injuries. If Martin doesn't feel Griffiths good enough, he will have to play him if Roos gets injured. So why not give him some game time now & allow him to show what he can do?

  14. Nice to have Notts back in action after a two week break. I'm sure Notts players have been training hard & have prepared well for the Barnet match. Barnet will be a tough nut to crack & they are in reasonable form, & they are currently standing in one of the playoff places with six wins & two draws from their twelve matches. Barnet are a passing team which should suit Notts. I would imagine that Martin Paterson will pick a very similar match squad to the one that beat Oldham so convincingly. Sadly, Jaden Luker won't figure due to his injury & his return to his parent club, but hopefully Will Jarvis will be considered to have a start on the bench. Notts have a good league record against Barnet being undefeated in their last 7 meetings, so Notts will be wanting to continue that impressive record on Saturday. I think that Notts can get a win on Saturday, if they play as they did against Oldham. It would be a good time to win with a clean sheet.
  15. There is no rule against this and the richest clubs will want to do it, however this Country now has a football regulator in place thanks to government legislation. I'm sure that the Government could introduce legislation to prevent League matches from being played abroad. The wishes of the fans who support their Club either at home or away should be paramount & I'm convinced a majority of fans will be against this.. This development goes against the very spirit of the game where teams had home advantage & it was always more difficult for the away side Allowing clubs to play league matches abroad also alters the mechanics of the league system where a club has, for example in the Premier League 19 home matches & 19 away matches. Surely a club could rightfully feel aggrieved if they were beaten to the league championship by just a narrow margin & the other club got that narrow margin by winning a game at a neutral venue when that club was deemed the away side. This development will change the game completely.
  16. It was even worse than that @Sheffield Pie Justin Fashanu got himself sent off as well as David Hunt in the 2nd half of that match.
  17. You've certainly chosen a great part of the World to explore @Fan of Big Tone I've been to Tenerife & Lanzarote in the early norties & they were great holidays. When we visited the weather was great, lots to see and do especially in Lanzarote where you can visit the Volcano on the Island. The Lava fields are absolutely spectacular.
  18. Have a nice time @Fan of Big Tone Hope the weather picks up for you. What is your cruise itinerary, the Mediterranean or more closer to home?
