  1. this is why the move makes so much sense, because when a youngster will go out and play in a team looking for promotion. they give him minutes and the fans warm to them, then it encourages them and the confidence on the pitch seems to lift. i think we have had good talent, just not pushed them or had the ability to get them the right types of loans. @Chris made some very good points in his comments.
  2. alex bass for me, hes been a huge relief in goal and his mistakes never seem to cost us. he always makes up for them and he is a very solid keeper who should only get better. i dont think most players have been all that bad, only one or two have fallen short. its good to see jevani brown stepping up, because he always seemed to have the ability but his confidence needed work. matty platty and jacob bedeau are the best centre backs we have had in years.
  3. every nation seems to have a period where they become average, and then find new talent that brings them back to the front line. germany are a good team, with a good league. they were always going to come back as a threat in major competitions. its weirder seeing italy struggle to be successful considering. good read.
  4. i like the look of bluesky and i am thinking about joining, but if i did i probably would not use twitter outside of checking on pon and notts.
  5. the clips and videos i have seen of him playing for us he looked one hell of a player, who was skilful and fast. its good to see the club paying respect and mentioning something that younger fans might not be aware about.
  6. i just support local causes where i can see how the money makes a difference, i have never really been keen to donate to the bigger ones because i am more community minded. i dont think they are all as bad as the media make out, but i do think the ceo roles could be given to people on the way up and not those who want to sit on making silly amounts. it would be a good way for charities to give people a leg up with working. my aunt and mum volunteer their time at a charity shop in clifton, they have been doing it for over 20 years.
  7. it would be good if the club continues to look at snapping up land around meadow lane, as increasing the way fans can get out after the games would be a good thing. the kop gets jammed. the times i have sat in the pavis, its much easier. the fans forum has been a positive thing, i thought most of it was pretty standard but even then its promising. even after all these years, it seems we are still determined to move forward as a club and we are not diverting from that.
  8. great idea @Robbie! port vale will be hoping walsall will slip with their two games in advance but really the pressure will be on both teams. it seems a bit weird to think we are only 6 points off the top, not that i think our form is bad but the recent defeat to crewe and a draw to newport has not really effected us. at the other end of the table, carlisle seem to have found some form since their winning, they have drawn their last two games. there are some good teams at the wrong end of the table.
  9. i dont think hes ready for a premier league team, he would do well to find a good championship or league one team. stability really is the key i think as if they avoid relegation this season at least they can build. appointing graham potter to me would be like conceding you will be relegated.
  10. it certainly will be interesting to see where the club looks to get that extra quality we need in the wider parts of the pitch and up front. it should not be that difficult to identify talent to come into the areas we need. i just hope stuart maynard and the club acknowledge that we address the defensive concerns, but could have done just a little more in the attacking department. injuries might have set us back, which is not exactly something we can predict but i do think in hindsight the cover prior to allowing some players depart could have been better handled. also, i would not be against seeing good players who are first team ready of the 18-22 age.
  11. i cant say i read all the article but i get the jist and it does seem like there needs to be big improvements.
  12. i was not aware of this, but my eye sight is good.
  13. you cant find stability changing managers so frequently and signing 22 players almost every season, we know this.
  14. ruud van nistelrooy? that would be a comical error if they appointed him. i cant see it being a better appointment. they should go for someone more used to managing a team in the premier league. i am surprised that graham potter has not been heavily connected but he would be a better option than van nistelrooy.
  15. i got off work at 5pm on the dot today, it has been much nicer out. works in full swing now, so no quiet days and this wont change until late feb at the very least. i want to find time to go christmas shopping, but i have purchased tickets for the peterborough cup game.
  16. welcome to the pride of nottingham @Jatta1999.
  17. one thing is when we dont have him, we do tend to miss his presence which highlights the importance he plays within the squad. i think we perform better as a team when hes involved too.
  18. was it findus who were using horse meat for their microwavable lasagnes almost 10 years ago? that would be grim for some younger people to look back on. my mum has always made food from ingredients because she does not like instant food. even fish fingers tended to be home made, but at times birds eye might be something i would see from time to time. its why i have a fondness for cooking at home, although i am no chef. i do like to make some of her more basic recipes. my childhood favourite was warm oats for breakfast and meat dinners.
  19. yes, it looks like a very positive place to be from reading. i am not the biggest twitter user but i am considering joining blue sky, if it is how it seems then i might post about notts. i dont on twitter because idiots tend to take what i tweet out of context looks for a quick reaction. i hope those types stick with twitter because it suites them. i do wish that some of the fans making the leap from twitter to blue sky realise that if they did similar with pon and just invested some of their time to joining the conversations here it would have a similar impact to how blue sky has picked up on the notts front.
  20. i really can take to a player like jatta because he is very relatable. its good to see him earning an international cap whilst with us and how he speaks, you can tell notts means a lot to him. we have to nurture players like him.
  21. i dont think we can play him all the time, he tires and breaks down naturally. last season from the point we struggled to the end of the season showed that. hes much better being rested and started, saved for the big games and allowed to pick up minutes based on how hes performing. this season i think hes been class and part of that is because we have not relied on him so much.
  22. @Robbie they do seem to be making the right progress and with the recent fans forum with the talk of bringing all the teams closer, it sounds like something that will only benefit the womens and junior teams.
  23. there was possibly interest in him but i dont think rumours tend to be all that true. not like we were going to offer him a deal, but was tracking or opening early stages to see if he had interest in us but nothing concrete.
  24. it might seem controversial but i think erling haaland is one of citys biggest problems. they have to do everything through him, nobody else seems to want to shoot. its like their instructed to get into a good position and then look for haaland. either they start playing as a team again, or they look to get rid of him because despite him being a good goalscorer he is not the sole answer to winning games.
