  1. i really hope we give the starting squad slightly longer than 45 minutes, maybe 60. then break the rest of the minutes up. give ourself something that our main 11 can get stuck into and build further. 45 minutes might be fairer, but as others have said we are approaching the season. trialists can impress still.
  2. @Pies79 just for now, if we are hit with injuries who knows if he will put a kit on for himself. welcome to notts! ewan coleman.
  3. after reading the roku site being listed for sale, i do think it would make a good place for us to own and have as a training facility which could be ran open to the public too, as a means to bring in extra revenue. i think that is more likely if the reedtz bought it themselves, i would have thought it would be out of our reach as a club and using macaulaylangstaffs fee would take the majority if not all of it. i honestly think the transfer fee could be better spent on signing a few more good players and keeping most of it for the next season. offering new deals to certain players would make sense.
  4. i could see our owners buying it themselves, allowing notts to use the facilities but i cant see it being owned by the club. its too much for a league two team. it would not be a bad idea to buy it, keep the facilities open to the public and have time slots where notts would train but i do only see it doable if the reedtz buy it themselves.
  5. he cant really be judged in 20 minutes, he needs time to settle and i bet millwall did not create much for him. for 70 minutes, someone else played as a striker for them, i wonder what they did.
  6. var could be the death of football, but even without it. argentina fans are very hostile. the amount of times i have read about trouble happening in a south american game either for clubs in argentina, brazil, peru etc or the international teams. its pathetic behaviour to riot.
  7. this is the john bostock i wished we could have back, i agree, he missed matt palmer but he was such a defensive part in keeping us moving forward.
  8. credit to their owner for keeping the fans close to the stadium but surely it would be better spent on the squad? i hate seeing clubs detached from their home. its just not right and being forced to pay a silly fee seems to be a way to get back at the club. i assume a former owner kept hold of it?
  9. i know from speaking with other fans from clifton where i am originally from that notts has always had close ties with clifton all whites from one time to time.
  10. i have never used bulwell train station but i have been past it on the tram to hucknall and on trains heading to mansfield. despite the town, the station looks quite nice for a small town.
  11. defending seems to have always been a notts issue. is it don o riordan calling for calmness? i think its the third goal 44 seconds into the clip.
  12. i think if fans can make enough games to warrant the payment of the membership fee, then its a great offer. it makes match days more affordable and i know its a bit negative to see the club charge higher prices on the day. this at least is something catered to the fans.
  13. no its never happened to me but i know my mum is a very proactive cleaner and does not like seeing other peoples houses a mess when she visits. not that she would say anything. but she might at times just start to try to tidy things up. its quite funny because she cant help it.
  14. this is the real reason notts lost, star struck by seeing ajax they both went out for drinks. to be serious, its cool notts had this chance to train somewhere ajax has themselves.
  15. this is normal service for any notts fan trying to purchase tickets from ticketmaster, its really no better than the previous online ticket site. obviously i am joking but if its not for slow loading, errors... the site can throw errors very often.
  16. its a shame but it does show how you need to be more wiser with what you spend. teams want to compete and it does make owners want to spend money, money they might not have for the long term. i do hope for their fans things work out.
  17. i get that he has to prove himself, that last season his appointment could have gone better but i think he deserves time to see how things progress this season. personally, i believe he will do just fine. we should be a lot better defensively and we a very blessed attacking side without macaulay langstaff. i do hope the langstaff transfer does not end up being used as an excuse by some or by maynard if things dont go to plan but i am sure we will have a decent season ahead. progress is the key, so hope we can reach the playoffs or higher.
  18. lee hughes @menzinho!! neal bishop was a great captain and whilst not the best player, he made up for it by being reliable. mike edwards, michael johnson, mark stallard, danny allsop, ian richardson, so many greats.
  19. i wished the youth team had a proper development squad to move up to, i believe this would further help them become ready for first team football. i understand the current decision to afford costs by playing local teams in friendlies but league structures are competitive other wise they are just friendly games with no real purpose. the u18s did not do practicably well last season. https://uk.soccerway.com/national/england/youth-alliance/20232024/northeast---2nd-phase/lower-table-round/g23720/ at least the league system is something they can push to do well in and hopefully come against better youth teams in time.
  20. i am back to two days training and three days an headless chicken trying to organise the warehouse and getting exported good out. i prefer actually working, i like to keep busy but the training will come in handy when positions up the ladder opens up. i dont want to work in the offices, that would bore the lift out of me because i like to be hands on. after work, i just watch tv and browse pon. today i finished a little later than normal, so i drove home and then had a quick walk to a chippy called the big fish.
  21. james sanderson looks a good player, he was the focus of last season. a lot of youngsters from the friendlies stood out and a flurry signed pro deals. we never hear much from these young players, i wished the media team at notts would focus a little more on them. our young players seem an after support. the club gets fans on board with supporting them through their hard work but there is no physical push or desire to make sure that they are integrated properly into the first team.
  22. no way would i be one for dancing, i have two left feet and i dont like being watched but i do think its sad how some nice traditions have slowly died off. it sounds like a nice way to meet a partner, i am not sure you would get a long term relationship from someone clubbing. its all in the moment but a lot of these dance halls and other meeting points have died off or are slowly becoming quiet places.
  23. i dont think the deal was ever in the pipeline until they came forward, i am not sure notts had even rejected a bid. i think that was scaremongers trying to wave the negative storm of clicks to get them some ad revenue and site visits. i think if macca was going to leave, we would not have seen him training with us. the fact he was here for a brief time before leaving leaves me to think it was a very quick move, where millwall managed to attract maccas interest and i can understand the lure of championship football.
  24. you have to be a sick person and not a real football fan to chant sickening stuff like the article mentions, thankfully a lot of fans come together over the passing and its just small pockets of people i would suspect looking to be controversial. they are not football fans but people looking to get a reaction out of opposition fans. this behaviour is not the sign of someone wanting to support their club.
  25. so saddened to read about it, i had seen ian mention his book and his wifes diagnosis when he was on twitter. he seemed very upbeat and wanting to make the best of the situation which is admirable. i really hope the family can enjoy the rest of their time together.
