Notts County put their woeful 3-0 defeat at Coventry City last week firmly behind them as they claimed a solid 2-0 win against Chesterfield in their first home game of the 2017/18 League Two season. Jorge Grant proved to be the star once again with an impressive brace consisting of a looped header followed by a stunning free kick in injury time. Prior to the loanee's goals, it was a heated, controversial game, with Gary Caldwell's side playing dirty and going down to ten men, though itUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County have stretched their unbeaten run to six games in all competitions following Saturday's 2-0 win over Morecambe at Meadow Lane. The Magpies bossed the first half and deservedly took the lead as defender Dan Jones curled in a superb free kick on 27 minutes. Although the Shrimps shuffled things round at the break and were more dangerous in the second half, they were unable to make headway in terms of grabbing an equaliser. Indeed, Notts went on to seal the victory througUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County have moved back to the top of League Two thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Barnet on Saturday. Kevin Nolan's men went ahead after 16 minutes when Shola Ameobi headed a Rob Milsom corner towards goal and Shaun Brisley forced the ball home. Seven minutes into the second half, Matt Tootle beat his marker with a Cruyff turn and crossed for Ryan Yates, who glanced in his first league goal of the season. Barnet, however, kept plugging away and set up a nervy finish whenUpdated by Joe Jones

Ryan Yates scored a dramatic last-gasp winner as Notts County kept pace with League Two leaders Luton Town with a 2-1 win over Colchester United. Shola Ameobi's penalty had put Kevin Nolan's charges in front in the second half after Michael Mandron was adjudged to have held back Yates in the U's box. Colchester wasted an opportunity to draw level with a spot kick of their own when Ryan Jackson was fouled by Jorge Grant but Mandron’s shot was saved by Magpies goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons.Updated by Joe Jones

A topsy-turvy August on the pitch for Notts County has ended on a somewhat sour note as the Magpies were held to a 2-2 draw by Accrington Stanley on Friday night. In the first League Two fixture of the bank holiday weekend, rescheduled due to a clash with the neighbours over the Trent, the Magpies edged into a 1-0 half time lead at Meadow Lane lead thanks to Jon Stead's penalty. Things got even better for Kevin Nolan's charges as they doubled their lead in the 54th minute through JorgeUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County continue to set the pace at the top of the League Two table thanks to a 3-1 win over Cheltenham Town on Saturday. Jorge Grant opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Jon Stead's layoff was convincingly rifled home by the Nottingham Forest loanee. However, the Robins restored parity against the run of play when Carl Winchester was allowed space to unleash a low shot goalwards that snuck beyond Ross Fitzsimons. Notts County came from a goal down to record a superb 4-1 win over Crewe Alexandra in Saturday's League Two encounter at a packed Meadow Lane. In front of a bumper crowd of more than 17,000 thanks to Alan Hardy's "2 for Crewe" offer, the Magpies fell behind to Shaun Miller's goal on the rebound. However, Notts were level seven minutes later when Noor Husin rifled home a stunning Roy of the Rovers-esque drive from all of 25 yards out. Notts County have climbed to the top of League Two thanks to an emphatic 4-1 win against 10-man Lincoln City. The Magpies enjoyed a numerical advantage for a large chunk of the game after the Imps had Billy Knott sent off for a high boot on Ryan Yates in the 28th minute. Notts then went ahead before the break when a Jon Stead volley took a deflection and spun into the corner of the net. Notts County have ended their programme of League Two home fixtures this season on a winning note after a 1-0 win over Blackpool at Meadow Lane on Saturday. Centre-half Richard Duffy's fourth goal of the season was all that separated the two sides as he headed into an unguarded net on 34 minutes after Blackpool goalkeeper Sam Slocombe had kept out Jorge Grant's free-kick. Pride of Nottingham was at Meadow Lane on Saturday 1 April to see Notts County take on Colchester United. The Black and White Army was treated to a great performance from the Magpies, which culminated in a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Haydn Hollis and Shola Ameobi. The result meant that Notts maintained a 13-point gap between themselves and the bottom two in League Two, giving them yet another massive boost in their fight against relegation. Pride of Nottingham were at Meadow Lane for Notts County's 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United on Saturday March 11. The Magpies took the lead via Shola Ameobi, who scored his first goal for the club and made amends for missing a penalty earlier in the match. Loanee Jorge Grant then struck a wonderful long-range effort to put Notts two up, ensuring that Haydn Hollis's unfortunate own goal proved little more than a consolation for the visitors. This week's Meet the Fans video sees Pride of Nottingham chat to Notts County supporters before the Morecambe game! Such a shame the game was called off because of torrential rain, but it was still nice to hear the thoughts of Magpies fans, many of whom were in good spirits with their team flying high! Easter Monday 2017 turned out to be a positive day for both fans of Notts County and of Portsmouth at Meadow Lane. Although the Magpies fell to a 3-1 defeat, Newport County were thrashed by Plymouth Argyle, confirming for good that Notts would be a League Two side next season. Meanwhile, Pompey ended eight years of hurt with a win that sealed promotion into League and going some way towards exorcising the demons of the last few years. It's definitely been a bittersweet day today at Meadow Lane. The club has unveiled its new kits for the 2018/19 season, and the home shirt will go on sale tomorrow. In addition, it's the first day of pre-season, so now it's collision course for the friendlies and just over a month away until the league starts again! Alas, we've had to bid farewell to Mike Edwards, the very definition of "stalwart" and a man who is thoroughly loved among the Black and White Army. The talentedUpdated by Joe Jones

As someone who grew up in the 1990s, I honestly believe that it was the best decade for a young boy to come of age. The music was incredible, there were so many good shows on television, and technology was life-enriching without being suffocatingly all-encompassing as it is today. And then we have the football. Italia 1990 and Euro 1996 saw England give genuine hope to the nation's fans that football was in fact coming home, while the advent of the Premier League brought along with itUpdated by Chris

When I was little, my brother (older) was always playing football in the garden. I showed very little signs early on of being interested as I preferred playing with toys. I used to spend hours with plastic toy soldiers, these days children don't play enough or go outside but once I did start playing football I quickly fell in love with the sport. I'm hoping my son will also take to the sport, as I think it will do wonders for his confidence. I think it's easier when the people who surrounUpdated by Chris

Pride of Nottingham had kindly been allowed permission by Neal Bishop to ask him a series of questions. As one of our only surviving League Two winning players at the time, we were hopeful of being able to ask Neal some questions about his time at the club which he kindly accepted. During a busy December period the questions were sent across to Neal but unfortunately I waited to publish his answers. Yesterday ended like I started my original journey, alone with my son in the cold. I found myself at times thinking about what Notts meant to me as a person, I looked around watching our fans react to each stage very differently. It was a roller-coaster shared by family and friends, in a sea of mixed shirts. Shaun Derry's branded Notts a “community”, which is something I've always found to be pretty much true. The only differences for me is the advUpdated by cheeky~k8
