Another weekend, another crushing disappointment in the long line of crushing disappointments. Notts County, already woefully trundling along in this season's League Two campaign, were tasked with going to big rivals Mansfield Town in the hope of getting some points. They did perform well enough in the first half, to be fair, but bad defending proved the Magpies' downfall as Mal Benning lofted the ball to the far post from the left and CJ Hamilton turned home. The goalscorer thenAdded by PON_News

Pride of Nottingham's has been sent this article written by Northants Pie, we hope you enjoy the read - It highlights the form of total football. The origins of what is commonly known as Total Football always seem to be credited as the beaches of Brazil or the adaptive pitches of the Dutch. This ideal of how to play was executed perfectly by Barcelona; it turned them into an all-conquering European club side and it went further into the Spanish international team but little do people knowUpdated by Chris

Notts County managed to claim all three points against Grimsby Town on Saturday as they ran out 2-1 winners at Meadow Lane to take their fight for League Two survival to the final day of the season. The breakthrough for the Magpies came in the second half when a cross from Mitch Rose took a deflection before finding its way through to Craig Mackail-Smith, who touched it into the net at the far post. Harry Clifton then went on to turn the ball into his own net to make the game safe forUpdated by PON_News

Notts County achieved their first win of the season against Tranmere Rovers at Meadow Lane last Saturday. The game wasn't what fans was expecting, although for sure it is what they want to see on a weekly basis. Tranmere Rovers went into the game with their own inconsistency, although no doubt they have the ability to punish sides going forward. Pride of Nottingham is delighted to share with you these action shots, we thank Oskar and B&O Press Photo. Hopefully we will see the found coUpdated by Chris

Farewell then Haydn Hollis. The Notts County youth product has opted to depart Meadow Lane permanently in search of first-team football and is now with Forest Green Rovers. The 25-year-old links up again with Rovers manager Mark Cooper, who had a short spell in the San Sirrel hotseat in 2016, and is contracted to the League Two strugglers until the end of the 2018-19 season. What have both Notts and FGR gaffers said about the move, what are Hollis's thoughts on leaving Notts and joininAdded by Joe Jones

It's safe to say that few Notts County fans have looked back since Alan Hardy took over the club and hired Kevin Nolan as first-team manager. Since mid-January, the Magpies have halted their freefall towards the bottom of League Two, with the now much more confident players putting in much-improved displays and rediscovering how to get points. The atmosphere in the stands is much better too, with offers and incentives combined with the improved performances making Notts fans smile agaiUpdated by Joe Jones

In a dramatic finish at Meadow Lane, Jodi Jones secured a last-gasp equaliser for Notts County, who drew 2-2 against Fleetwood. The visitors took the lead in the first half when Ryan Graydon headed in from a corner, and they doubled their advantage early in the second half through Brendan Wiredu, who calmly slotted home after being set up by Graydon. Notts County, however, refused to back down. Alassana Jatta halved the deficit just before the hour mark, converting Lewis Macari’s low cAdded by PON_News

Macauley Langstaff scored two goals as Notts County easily defeated Doncaster, securing their first away win of the season. Langstaff, last season's National League top scorer, netted his first two goals of the campaign while Jodi Jones also scored as the Magpies dominated at the Eco-Power Stadium. After a scrappy start to the game, Langstaff opened the scoring 28 minutes in with a volley from an excellent cross by John Bostock. Doncaster made three substitutions at half-time, but County doAdded by PON_News

Well, it's finally got to that stage. Notts County are bottom of the Football League. Macclesfield Town, managed by one-time Magpie Sol Campbell, put in a display that overshadowed the hosts at Meadow Lane and claimed a 2-1 win which saw them leapfrog Notts off the foot of League Two. Frankly, it's the same old story. An overall turgid display, the odd good moment following the equaliser where County looked as though they would go into the lead, only for shoddy defending to proveUpdated by PON_News

So, the undefeated run comes to an end by our bogey side Walsall FC who beat us 2-1 at Meadow Lane last Saturday. Notts was undone early on after Garry Jones poked the ball into the back of his own net, however Garry Thompson pulled Notts level - only for an handball to be ruled against Haydn Hollis. One of the main ones was probably the loss of Lee Hughes, and the failure to bring in a replacement. Losing our cult-hero really was very disheartening for the fans. Then again, Keith Curle’s tactics were questionable on a number of occasions – playing one up front at home, sitting too deep, not getting forwards; it just seemed to fall apart. Keith Curle eventually got the sack in February and the players’ attitude quite frankly stunk after that. Many of them didn’t seem to care, and appeared aAdded by weymouthPIE

Yesterday Notts battled bravely against Wolves who are no doubt one of the main contenders for promotion, if not the strongest team in League One. The game saw chances created by Notts, whilst both teams tried to entertain their respective fans. The final result - a narrow one, nil win to Wolves but all in all something very positive considering the lack of depth within the Notts squad.
