Ricardo Moniz still doesn't know how long it will be before Stanley Aborah will be available for selection, The midfielder limped off and was replaced during Notts 4-2 victory against Barnet. The summer signing has made 20 appearances for the Magpies, scoring one goal, and has been one of Notts more consistent players.

Stanley had another scan last week and, speaking to local media, Moniz said he was constantly being monitored and assessed.

“It's day to day with Stanley at the moment,” he said

“Obviously it was a very bad challenge which put him out of the game, but I cannot say how long he will be out for.”

“He is constantly being monitored because obviously he is an important player for us”.

“We want to make sure he is right.”

Jon Stead, who missed Notts defeat by Cambridge, is also in the treatment room recovering from a muscle tear.

Although Stead is making progress, Moniz couldn't say when the striker would be fit to return to League Two action.

“He has a good chance and that is all I can say,” he said.

“He has been working with John (Wilson) the physio.”

“We will have to wait and see how he is.”

“At the moment though a date can't be put on his return. We will have to wait and see how he is.”

If we all played family fortunes as you may around this time of year, you wouldn't be surprised to learn 'He is constantly being monitored' would actually be second on the top five board and would have scored you 11 points!

Joking aside, I think it would be better to hear a more open response.

I'm also half expecting him to make a return, yet that would be risky considering his injury - I'd rather give him time but know exactly what the bigger picture is.

Whilst hopefully Jon Stead will be back soon as a striker. ;)

Oh no, I didn't know Aborah was injured it must have happened whilst I was away, he's going to be a big miss, I hope he gets back soon.

Stanley's a very important player for us and he'll want to be back as soon as possible. Sometimes, you just can't be more specific about how long an injury will take.. it's not being evasive, it's just dependent on so many variables. And it was a terrible tackle that took him out. I wanted a red card. (especially as it was on Stan!)

Hope you're all well and enjoying your advent chocolate :-)
