It looks like the site hasn't loaded properly there, possible a cache related thing - does it still happen when the site does load completely?

Occasionally it does, this is today.

@nottsnutter It's no bother, I have asked, but I am trying to push for further investigation by the support team as to why certain emails aren't being received. I keep being told it's common for it to happen, but I think there's something more to it. I can't figure out any reasons, no emails are being reported by the system as being unsent or failing.

I will get to the bottom of it, unfortunately sometimes these do take time to find or resolve. :(

@Fan of Big Tone Does Safari have any navigation buttons which come up on the screen as you browse? Basically, I mean if the navigation reacts to something and is being nudged up? I have come across this with Chrome at times; this behaviour in my scenario resolves when I continue to browse down.

If it's appearing higher straight away, then that is something which could lead to its replication.

I forgot to say, the dark theme's navigation has now been resolved.

Thanks again Chris, its not an issue as long as I remember to check for fixture lists, its mainly midweek fixtures has I know they few and far between. As said my IT skills are almost 0 and didn't understand a word Fan of Big Tone said but guess he was talking to you Chris 🤣😂

I don’t think so I navigate with my finger on the iPad or phone screen, it’s a very rare occurrence which doesn’t affect me at all so don’t worry about it.

Thanks guys, I know what you are both saying and appreciate it.

They'll remain on my bug list with a priority to getting them resolved.

To prevent the posting of duplicate content, similar content will now appear within the post screen. As you type your title, this will bring up existing discussions, allowing you to see if the topic already exists. There’s the chance that two quick members might bypass this, however, that shouldn’t happen often. Items will only be found from the past year, to avoid discouraging the reuse of old ideas under appropriate circumstances.

the similar topics addition should be helpful, not that we get many times where two members have posted the same thing but at least there is something to say it might be or not. also the away members is a nice thing. its sad to see people suddenly disappear and if we can see that they just might be busy and therefore away at least we can expect them to be back at some stage. :)

You might have spotted that our ‘Next Game’ widget has been refreshed and revamped. This enhancement was carried out by our mate Terabyte, who has further improved its features. We’re hopeful that you’ll see these modifications and our continued commitment to bettering the Pride of Nottingham site by the onset of the upcoming season.

We’ve also chosen to enlarge the font size across all of PON, making it more accessible for everyone.

We’re thrilled to announce that we have additional updates planned as we keep working with Terabyte. We’re devoted to continually improving the Pride of Nottingham site for our members.

Moreover, we’d like to encourage you to become part of the Pride of Nottingham membership tiers. Your support will greatly contribute to the development and improvement of the site. By joining as a member, you’ll be playing a vital part in our mission to make Pride of Nottingham the best it can possibly be. We value your support!

Has anyone noticed that PON is loading up slower than normal? When clicking on Dashboard it is loading slowly. Also when replying to a post the post is appearing not to post, but when checking at the end of the thread it has posted.

I'm on Android.

@Robbie i cant say i have noticed the dashboard being slow, have you tried clearing the cache for pon in your browser? the post not appearing to post does happen from time, it sort of goes away but i will make sure to let chris know about you say.

Posted

@Robbie: There's a delay to the dashboard page. This is currently being investigated as to why it's slow.

Hi again 🤦🏻‍♂️,

Sorry to go on again, notifications for Prediction league have stopped again. If you could set out step by step on how I could try and set it up correctly. That way we can rule out my IT inadequacies

Cheers

Just a quick update:

Soon you will see some changes, nothing major, but I have reinvested the money from the members who have joined the Pride of Nottingham subscription plans - back into the site. I had wanted to try to crowd fund some of this, but I felt it was inappropriate with how 'casual' I was with updating the site. I thought this way, it would be the way to pay the kind support back by ensuring improvements were made to our community and site.

@Robbie will be pleased to know that the dashboard widget "Lastest discussions" which shows all the content from the forum, allowing you to navigate to different pages without leaving the same page, has been heavily focused on.

No longer will you get a white page when returning to the dashboard from a topic, along with speed improvements due to a cache system being implemented by Terabyte.

These updates are not quite live here, but will be soon.

Additional changes will be made to the post area, giving a bit more detail on members contributions in a nice styled manner. Responsive devices such as mobiles and tablets, will soon see the users post content. online status, age (if selected to show) Twitter (x.com) handle.

I believe it is useful to show this additional information as it shows the standing of the poster. Whilst some might not like their age to be shown, this can be turned off via your profile and user settings. I think this would be useful for people to see that sometimes young posters are involved without overly judging their opinions.

Further improvements will be implemented; I am now preparing for the new season and for normal service to resume.

I am incredibly thankful for the support and understanding regarding my absences at times. I will pay this faith forward and make sure to keep the standards as high as possible.

Thank you for your support.

The dashboard page's recent content widget has been remade from scratch and has had several bug fixes applied, including adding cache support for faster page loading times. This is the first of several improvements made to the site.

Please report here if you have any issues with it. 👍

@Chris. Just off the subject, sometimes when one writes a post and posts it, the post looks like it hasn't gone through, but when you check by going back to the dashboard, it has posted.

Someone might believe their post hasn't posted then post it again, but would find the post has posted twice.

@Robbie: Am I understanding correctly, you mean when you click to start a topic from the same location as the recent content or in general?

Re-reading, I think you mean in general.

I will give this a thought, to see what can be done to make members sure their content has been posted.

Sorry I didn't make it clear.

It's a general post. Sometimes, not all of the time. When you press submit, nothing happens. It stays on the edit page. One will think it's not posted but it has.

@Robbie I can't say I have experienced that, but it's useful to know, and please don't apologise. I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly. By default, when you post, it should load the content as a post. It shouldn't stay in the edit mode; that sounds like a bug or a server communication issue.

I'll add it to my notes. 👍

@Fan of Big Tone Have you experienced this? The reason I ask is that I am not pointing the finger, but I noticed some hidden topics of the same content when I returned. I deleted them and thought nothing of it until now.

I find the recent topics widget quite impressive. When it used to malfunction, I thought something had gone seriously awry. However, a simple refresh would resolve the issue. I believe the enhancements are fantastic. It’s uplifting to witness such progress.

@Chris No I haven’t noticed this, I think I did hide a topic that was duplicated elsewhere just to avoid confusion but it wasn’t the problem highlighted by @Robbie

I seem to have lost the edit facility on my posts. Anyone else have that issue?
