It could be an issue at this end Internet wise, it doesn't necessarily mean yours.

Having looked at the log and traffic, there's nothing to suggest any errors were the cause and there's been no spikes in activity or ram usage to suggest the server were in high demand at any point. Since the new server switch, we are  running idle in ram resources averaging between 10% and 15%.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't mention things, but the likelihood is that it could just be one of those things to expect from time to time.

@Chris I’ve been getting an issue intermittently where the grey bar that’s normally at the bottom of the screen is drifting up the screen and obscuring the text. See this screenshot.

@Fan of Big Tone Do you happen to know what triggers it or any steps so I can reproduce the issue?

@Chris there doesn’t seem to be any pattern it happens at random and only periodically, I’ve just been to the same article and it didn’t happen. :huh2:

It’s not a huge problem so don’t worry too much, the next time it happens I’ll try to see if I did anything different to cause it.

Does it only happen when reading articles? It's something I should look into as it may put people off from reading. It's probably easily fixed with CSS, but without being to trigger it myself it makes finding a solution more difficult.

No it’s happened on the forum too.

Could you tell me what version your Ipad is and what the resolution is? This will help me massively.

Also, I assume you are using Safari.

iPad 5th generation, using iPadOS 16.2 with Safari. I don’t know how to find the screen resolution.

@Chris it happened again today, I was viewing unread posts and wanted to go to Granny Pies section so clicked on another post from that section to access it.

Thanks for letting me know; I'll report back once I know more. I still haven't been able to trigger it.

I have noticed if a browser has a menu of its own at the bottom, it can briefly nudge itself up, but it quickly adjusts back to where it should be. Not quite what we see in your example.

Has this only started to happen recently? I see that the themes can be upgraded and on the day @Robbie mentioned freezing, I had upgraded. If so, there's a chance this could resolve it. I'll get on to this now.

I have experienced some issues with upgrading the dark theme, please wait for further updates before alerting me to issues in regard to the navigation menu within the dark theme.

No it’s been happening for a while.

This is potentially fixed, although it's not been able to be produced. A tweak to force the menu to stay at the bottom has been added. Don't worry about it now, but browse for a week or so after you return from your holiday - then let me know.

@liampie I can't confirm if the login issue has been resolved.

Microsoft thankfully has now delisted our server to email their addresses, so fans with hotmail, live, msn and outlook etc should finally start getting their notifications.

* Issue with the randomly floating mobile navigation - is still under investigation, but has potentially been resolved.
* the oopps something has gone wrong error when logging in may still occur.

I'll be having a look at the dashboard's latest discussions block next. (As mentioned by Robbie)
- I think the clog to narrow down the content is also broken.

I have been ranting amongst the team that we have been experiencing an issue with Outlook, whereby the servers IP from emailing their emails. I thought I had addressed this in a site update newsletter - however, it turns out the software had a bug too.

The issue with emailing Outlook, including all their domains such as Outlook, MSN, Hotmail, Live should now be resolved. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yet I don't know if notifications via e-mail have been sent due to the bug in the site's software, I also don't know when this occurred. I have been dealing with Outlook repeatedly to get them to delist the servers IP, when they had, there were further complications which all in seriousness should have been dealt with better.

Question is: Did you receive an update recently? Have you been getting your e-mail notifications about content which you have subscribed too?

Here's something that's been an issue in the past: prediction league reminders. This week nottsnutter mentioned that he'd stopped getting reminders for posts in the prediction league forum, and unfollowing it and following it again didn't seem to help. Has anyone else been having this issue?

Most likely it will be due to emailing issues.

We'll need to monitor this, but the issue should be resolved. When @nottsnutter followed the Prediction League forum, I assume it was set up to contact him once a new item had been posted via email.

Later on, once I go to sleep - I will check certain members emails and do some further tests.

It's very important that members inform me via this topic if they experience issues, something might take time to resolve, but I am persistent with finding solutions. If it's not mentioned, then it can fall wayward or go unnoticed.

@nottsnutter Excellent, now we just need to wait to make sure you get them for the Prediction League. Fingers crossed you do, as it would explain the situation was caused by the recent bug and email issues.

Thanks for confirming.:)

It looks like the site hasn't loaded properly there, possible a cache related thing - does it still happen when the site does load completely?

I wonder if it's something related to those certain notifications, such as the set to say if new content has been posted.

Don't worry, I will still look into it.

There's been a lot of patches as of late for the software PON uses, so some of it could be that but I will mention this issue to the support there to see if anything is amiss. It's possible that some more knowledgeable hands need to take a look.
