it was straight at the keeper, it looked a weak shot too. not sure how its a great save. its good keeping, making himself low and big, but if vardy had tried to hit a corner and that forced a save then it would have deserved the praise its getting.

looks pretty standard to me, good move by leicester city but most good keepers should have reacted the same way.

@liampie had Vardy gone for the corner, Vicario was never gonna stop it and it was still a save that needed to be made. The build up play was good to watch. Against a team like Spurs who like to play a high line under Ange this was a way to exploit it.

@KB1862 my comment is aimed at sky who are over sensualising the save, its not mind blowing.

It's good football by Leicester City, this space opens up a lot when you tend to ignore an opposing player. Vardy showed his experience of reading the game and staying in an area where Spurs seemed to be ignoring. He did well, to make himself open for the pass even with all the space - as he could have strayed offside or alerted Tottenham Hotspur sooner.

It's almost something you would expect to see on the training ground.

Yet the save is very standard, had the keeper been beaten it would lead to questions. It's a very routine save. I do think a younger Vardy would have finished that chance much better, and I would say it was a wasted chance with a very poor finish. Take into consideration Jamie Vardy's age, then some credit can be given, but it was very soft, and the keeper had a higher chance of saving it than allowing it to be conceded. The ball is literally placed right at the keeper, which again, you would put down to Vardy's age and the fact he had burst away.

It’s good play; the speed split Spurs apart, but that shot was a waste of what was an excellent move. I don’t think it could have been any more straightforward. There seemed to be no pace or weight behind the strike. I could have caught the ball in my sleep.

Jamie Vardy did well. His age and speed may have influenced the shot, but it was a fantastic break.
